- Welcome to my review of the DX Lion Fortress from Power Rangers Ninja Steel. This is the largest Megazord in the Ninja Steel line and one of the largest main ones released period. It has a fortress/play set mode, Megazord mode, and can combine with the Ninja Steel and Bull Rider Megazords. Is it as impressive as it seems? How does it compare to its Ninninger counterpart Lion Ha-Oh? Find out in the review.

I really don't understand why, for the American one, they didn't mold in a connector to attach the extra Bullrider chunks in the big gap on the front, to fill in that space and make it look less...empty. It wouldn't have been screen accurate, but this thing was never gonna be that anyway.
Great video! At the end you remarked, "I hope this helped" and it certainly did. I was seriously swishing around the idea of buying that because it's so cool on the show and even in the commercials. You seriously just saved me some money though! I'm an old school Power Ranger Megazord collector from when they had the Deluxe Megazords that had the same flashy bells and whistles that the Japanese ones did...and wow have they dropped the ball since then. It's sad. Thanks again!
Glad I could be somewhat of a help. I always worry about some of my end thoughts because I end up arguing with myself a bit on certain products.

So they made the core too small and the outer shell too big...
You can put the shoulders and handlebars of Bull Rider connected as is for Megazord mode behind Ninja Steel Megazord's legs to make up for the lack of a seat there. The pegs should be up and the chest flipped down. The grey stabilizer can be plugged in upside down on his butt. Bull Rider's arms can peg in on the shoulders. Then everything else can fit in the jail cell.

The King of Burgers it's 20 INCHES tall. Not quite two feet. Metroplex is a head taller.

@@K-dawg26 Generations Metroplex, which had come out at around the same time as this, was 24 inches tall.
Damn. He doesn't even reach the foot rest/pedals. They made it so big it looks like a kid sitting in his daddy's throne.
It's adorable
It is kind of nice in that it lets you put the Rumble Tusk and Astro Zords on the food rests.

Bigger is not always better. $100 for a plastic piece with minimum paint.
It does have firing missiles, electronic sounds, a retractable jail cell with sliding door, and it's huge. But, that said, it's not necessarily worth it. I didn't pay full price, and I didn't think it was worth that much at the time either.

I'm thinking they're Gonna make a normal megazord sized version of this like the samurai gigazord because there's only 3 more zords in ninninger we don't have but there's probably gonna be like 4 more megazords for super ninja steel or whatever

I want this thing more than any other Ninja Steel Megazord. I will probably get the Astro and Bull Rider Zords too, but I don't really care for the main one.

I wonder if the ninja steel megazord/blaze megazord would fit inside lion ha-oh and allow for the bull rider megazord to combine with it.

so does the megazord actually gets to sit or they simulate the sitting position (there's nothing for the robutt to rest on) by locking it into place with the knees bent? asking because i wonder what else can sit in there (transformers for instance).

Yep, by about 2 inches.
I wonder if the Ninja Steel/Bull Rider combo would be tall enough to stand on the flat spaces, since just the Ninja Steel by itself is too small.
Unfortunately, it won't snap in if you do it that way and you lose the cannons in the process since they're being used as slippers. But it can sit there and be's filling the space.
0:10: this is why I was hoping they'd be called "Power Rangers Shuriken" or "Power Rangers Bushido" or something like that.
It doesn't fit the 2-1 syllable pattern that Saban was enforcing at the time. But Bushido would have worked for Samurai, rather than Ninja Steel.
Am I the only one that sees two soccer pitches on the back of where the Ninja Steel Megazord stands?

Too dang big!!! I wish they'd made a smaller one that just works with the zords & came with an articulated mini armored red ranger, & yes I DID get the 5inch one when it came out!

Man, this entire line has been really crappy
The figures are fine. It's the crappy Power Stars and awful distribution of the Aux Zords that sucks the most. The Lion is also one of my main gripes too.
They claim the Aux Zords were too small to release on their own. They should've just made them in a 2-pack. Rumble Tusk+ Astro and Surfer+Dino.
Where can I get the smaller version of the Lionfire Megazord? I have the Blaze Megazord and the Ninja Steel Megazord. Next on my list is the Bull Rider and Lionfire Megazords as well the 3 auxiliary zords. For now I would just like to know where to get the smaller Lionfire one.
If you want a smaller Lionfire Megazord you'd have to get the Japanese version, and if you do that you have to use the Japanese versions of all the other Zords too. They didn't make a smaller American version.
can you turn the hat around so the front is facing forwards in the ultrazord?
Yes, you don't have to but you can. I don't remember if the instructions say to, but I always do.
I put the rest of my bull rider megazord underneath the ninja steels megazords feet time fill the space up and looked great. I then put the bull rider on top of the entire Megazord
You can store the extra Bull Rider Megazord parts in the jail

You mean in Ha-Oh? Yeah, it'll fix, but it won't snap in and it won't be able to grab the controls.

I am still torn on this. I got it for 70 USD but still unsure if it's worth it. It feels like a 40 dollar toy due to how hollow it is and lack of paint and so on. Even the "electronics" is a bit sad. This would've been woth the hundred if they made it a bit sturdy, given paint and maybe some lights. It's feels as if 100 is not worth it for a bit of hollow plastic and a lions roar.
For $70 this is about as good as you can get if it's this size. I think it would have been better to scale it down a bit and give it more paint, personally, rather than try to make it so huge. But the cost of production keeps going up, so keeping things affordable means cutting corners. This was a case of size over features.

There's kind of a trick to getting them to stay on but they still come off kind of easily. They should have used permanent snap-in connectors.

Why people put up with this _thing_ and its original Japanese counterpart, I will never understand.
_And then,_ rather than call it out for being the giant pile that it is, they back pedal (to keep their sponsors happy) and say 'it's not good, but I still recommend it'; _completely_ undercutting their integrity as toy reviewers. Ultimately this gives BA a false sense of security, and then turn around and keep giving us more bullshit.
This is why we can't have nice things.

i would interested to see how bandai of america messed up the zyuohger because it is impossible due the the fact that their mecha/ zord is literally cube with very little feature and don't get me started on kyuuranger
Well, they messed up with the Shinkenger mechs in terms of the Kame Origami being the only one that can become its Orgiami Mode. Add in that they messed up with the Kajiki Origami and Kyoryu Origami...but I did like the Sasori Origami they made for us in America. That is one good thing they did.
what i tried to point out is most of the zyuohger mecha/ zord is very simple that they are brick of all brick with very little feature compare to other sentai toy which in term if you messed this up you messed up about 80% of the toy lineup
They'll probably skip Zyuohger as a whole, because they can't make the toys cheaper to produce

Bad scale, tons of missing paint, hollow plastic, combined mode can't attach the weapons, Riderbot, or the Bullzord, all to add a crappy jail cell, 5" figure compatibility, and then charge $150!? No thanks...this is probably THE biggest dropped ball among the Ninja Steel zords. Now, idk about finding Lion Haou cheaper WITH shipping...unless you came across one with free shipping.

Last year's Titano Charge Megazord was much.....MUCH smaller than the Japanese toy ( not including the Dino Charger gimmick )
Next year then Lion Fortress becomes even larger than the Japanese one ( including the Ninja Steel Action Figure gimmick )

You know, I always used to think of China as THE country that made shitty knockoffs of toys. Now I realize America is also a country that makes shitty knockoffs of toys, we just pay royalties to make them technically official.
No, almost everything is made in China or Vietnam. It's been that way for decades. Very few things are made in America anymore. Every single Megazord toy, either designed by BOA or made using the Super Sentai molds, was manufactured in China and shipped to where they were being sold.

It looks cheap and an uncollectable. They should have made it able for the legs to separate from each other, and bend at the knees, same with the hands and arms. It's all just injection plastic parts.
Actually, most of the toys are injection plastic. This was vacuum formed. And it wasn't meant for collectors, it was meant for elementary school children.

Agreed. The ridiculous cost that American toys cost over there shouldn't really be a matter of shipping, since your country can get the shipments from China or Vietnam even more easily than we can over here. This is not with $300. I didn't even pay full price in America for it.
