- Peebs opens up and plays with the Spongebob McDonald's 2012 London Olympic games toys! Each toy represents a different olympic sport... sort of. Spongebob, Patrick, Sandy, Mr. Krabbs, and Gary try out some SPORTS. Maybe if they practice hard enough they can join Mario and Sonic in the next Mario and Sonic at the olympics for the Nintendo Switch? Crossing my fingers for that collab.

Peebs! The marshmallows are a reference to an episode where SpongeBob was trying to be strong so Sandy would want to hang out with him instead of Larry. He put them on a stick to try to lift them and he kinda failed.

Nothing but pure nostalgia. I had the Mr. Krabs toy and I still have it to this day. It is pretty dirty and the paint has warn off but I still have it. Always thought it was weird how Mr. Krabs has a spatula instead of Spongebob and weird how he is using as a sword but it’s still a funny cool toy.

Something else McDonald's did in the US for the 2012 Olympics was they brought back the "When the US wins, you win" promotion that they originally did in 1984. At the 1984 Summer Olympics is Los Angeles, because the Soviet Union and its Eastern Bloc countries and other allies chose to boycott the Olympics in reaction to the US-led boycott of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, the US did insanely well. The US won a total of 174 medals. But because they did so well, McDonald's faced big financial costs for giving away so much free food. So the promotion was a failure financially, but they brought it back for Atlanta 1996, Nagano 1998, and London 2012 (where the prizes are only for gold medals) where it's an actual competition.

If SpongeBob joined the DPRK national football team, we'd win every World Cup. Who needs the Olympics in Bikini Bottom when they can compete for the Fry Cook Games instead? Like the Deep Fry Pole Vault, with the entertainment of accidentally scald some audience members into fish sticks. Or Bun Wrestling, with the entertainment of using a pencil to erase a part of the opponent's name on their nametag so it's just Rick. Jokes aside, I love the Mario & Sonic at the Olympics series. Especially the Vancouver 2010 one. Dream Snowboard Cross at Radical Highway, Curling, Dream Short Track at Egg Factory, Ice Hockey, Dream Ice Hockey at Bowser's Castle...the events are an absolute blast.

I remember seeing these toys back in 2012 in this massive McDonald's in Florida. It had a bunch of arcade games, a stage with animatronics of The McDonald's Crew, a large play area & a gift shop, it was incredible, younger me could not believe what he saw.
