Late Comment on this Video, BUT for alll of those looking at the OBS Solutions Intercooler Bracket Kit also order a 6.0 Trans Cooler. The kit includes the adaptation of the 6.0 cooler. The whole front of the truck has to be taken apart so you might as well add the Trans Cooler at the same time. The original OBS Trans cooler is a joke.
Had a Walbro pump on my OBS, they’re not a diesel rated pump from the manufacturer and it shot craps about a year in. Went Bosch after that, no problems 5 years in.
You didn't mention anything in regards to the valve train. I'm really interested in hearing you talk about that and other mods like headstuds etc, when it comes to these borderline power builds. I'd also like to know your thoughts on the longevity of one of these motors turned up like in this video, but it being a motor that has 200k on it from the beginning.
great information all around. been working an excursion build with 7.3. Having to go back and restructure everything i thought i knew and really want to have me truck for.
My 95 f350 powerstroke hauls 3 car carrier 1k-2k miles a week. Its stock even the air filter it stock. Its little slow theough PA mountains but gets job done. Only mods are: 110 gal fuel tank, 5th wheel and air bags.
Good job in getting accurate content out about these obs trucks I really enjoyed it. Thanks for all the time and hard work you put into these podcasts! Was wondering if there would be a big difference between the KC stock plus billet turbo with a .84 housing and the KC stage 1 that you were referencing? For the build setup you were using.
Thanks for the content. I have a 2000 E450 Cutaway Van Ambulance. Not much van content out there, so I have been watching a lot of your content trying to pick up as many pieces as I can. Just picked up a Hydra From you and will be getting the stuff for an EBPV delete soon. I understand that it uses an OBS outlet instead of the typical 2000-3 ones. Probably do up pipes while I am in there. Maybe you could do a 7.3 Van Podcast soon!!?
i tow equipment everyday skid steer and mini excavator what injectors should i use, would like to have 400-450 hp what is the best thing to do 350hp would it be better
Fuel mileage stays the same nearly no matter what you do to these trucks. Aside from much bigger builds, we have observed these trucks get between 14-16 average with any reasonable build.
Obs 7.3’s have quite a disadvantage from the superduty trucks because of the lack of intercooler, lack of wastegate, smaller intake plenums, and mechanical lift pump.
Hell naw not reliably, most obs are going to have 200k + miles on a setup vs most 5.0s around 50k if not at 10-20k for the ballers. You throw 10k whipple on a new 5.0 you got 700+ hp and 700+ tq with the new 10 speeds you'll out tow any 7.3 with better mpg, more comfort creatures and at around 10k lbs or less. But you'll also be 60-70k into a new f150 5.0 vs 10-15k flr a beat up obs
I need help I bought edge cts3 3 monitor my obd port has power but won't communicate it appears fine no blown fuses dealer says they won't even try to fix wtf?
@RollingThunder85 There is a possible fix assuming something electrical is not going on. You may be able to fix it but taking to ford or another shop with IDS and have teh PCM flashed with the newest firmware.

Glad we could help!
Love these videos, thanks so much!
I agree on the smaller tire sizes
What exhaust system is suitable for a f350 long chassis single cab from 1994.5?
Obs trucks need 3 inch plenums, add an intercooler kit, and fass just to match the ability of a 99.5-03 trucks.

thanks for the informative video, can you talk about the zf5 / zf6?
Power wise what would be the difference between upgrading the compressor wheel in the stock turbo vs a drop in replacement in a stage 1 build?

Just thought I’d mention that the OBS Solutions intercooler mounting kit comes ready to mount a 6.0 transmission cooler, for those who didn’t know.

Rough start but worth the patience. Lol thank me for your time.

The csd kit does not come with a spyder. You still have to get a e99 spyder.
What kind of mpg change will you see from 350hp?

What about zf trucks, I’m going to look at one tomorrow any upgrades for that trans?
There are not many upgrades for that transmission but there are great clutches we have a awesome tool for this here:

F150 5.0 makes 400 hp can a 7.3 make those numbers reliably?
That's 400hp and 410ftlbs.. The 7.3 will be 400hp and around the 800-900ftlb range.

What if you have 4.10s? 35s still a no no?
Still a no no…atleast for me trying to pull heavy, hard to get rolling.

@@1023DieselFleet ya they won't even try here in oregone fuggin ridiculous
Try a diesel shop instead of a dealer, most decent shops that work on power strokes will have IDS
