There were other Japanese people there with a tv crew and he thought this Chinese crew was with them. It was an innocent mistake. The actual video defies what she's saying. She told him to stop filming. There was a Japanese film crew and he thought they were with them. Perhaps British girls are more fun. No privacy in public and if you don't want to be filmed don't walk up to a camera. She's trying to portray herself as a victim and plainly he is the victim here.

Could you ask the Chinese group whether they have an approval from the station management to do filming? According to the HS1 website, an application is required to do a small scale filming at the St. Pancras station. The approval comes with a number of conditions, one of the conditions is the consent of intellectual property rights of third party.

Didn't Brendan ask if these Chinese people were Japanese only once? That's all I heard on Brendan's original video and this one. So why was the female in this video trying to exaggerated the matter, and why should this be such a big insult/issue anyway? And I couldn't see any evidence of Brendan trying to 'make' another of these chinese females 'dance with him'; he simply asked from a more-than-polite distance if she wanted to dance (by herself?) to which she simply said 'no' and that was apparently the end of the matter. If the female in this video wanted distort this incident or maybe get herself off some kind of hook (in her own mind?) she should at least have presented evidence that backs her up. None of it does.

Ms. Liu takes offence at being called Japanese, thereby implying that being called Japanese is an insult, so Japanese should take offence.
Ms. Liu also takes offence at being called a communist, thereby implying that being called a communists is an insult, so all communists should take offence.
But this is also very illogical. Even if she doesn't herself work for the communist Chinese government, her friends Newton Leng and Ms. Zhang certainly do, and presumably she knows about it. Plus they are all PUBLICLY waving the official communist Chinese flag in a time when there is great tension between China and Taiwan, between China and the US, and maybe even between China and the EU, a fact which is all over the news for anyone with half a brain, so that waving the flag PUBLICLY certainly has some political significance.
Ms. Liu even complains that Brendan is not nice when he says that British girls are more fun. Firstly, in a free country it is his right to think or feel however he feels whether someone is fun or not. Secondly, even in saying this he did not disparage them in any way: he just said British girls are "more" fun, not that she and her friends were not fun at all. Does Ms Liu believe that she has the right to be considered the most fun by everybody she meets?
Ms. Liu is just digging a deeper and deeper hole for herself as she makes more videos like this.

crazy comments aside here - this group blew up a simple case of someone playing the piano in a public place in a western country. Later YT researchers shown all the all the links back to the cccp party (spies outed by M15) - double standards on their part and general crazy shouting by the chinese group (lets face it just for effect)- its not just a case of cultural bias or misappropriation.
I dont see any fault from BK side - he is edgy to get views but that's not a crime - what is bad attitude is feeling entitled to start the argument - if you were planning to play the piano for your private yet soon to be public release of video and BK jumped in before you- go have a coffee and come back later when no one is watching your escalation.
The chinese party is distancing itself from them and their cccp group.
And of course they have a right to other side of the story but look at general people watching this and all thinking the same thing - Not least many chinese people in CCCP social media posts by this group against their approach to what happened and escalating things - even when their comments could be subject to affecting their social scoring in CCCP. or other measures.
They still feel strongly enough to criticise in their own country.

I think there are not only differences in language but also in Chinese and Western culture. Most Chinese people are relatively conservative and not very open, so if you ask her to dance in public, they may feel offended, but in the West It may seem ordinary to people. Various misunderstandings caused this incident, but it was originally fine. It's a pity that the man named Leng messed up everything. He cannot represent all Chinese people.

Agreed. Many Brits could not tell the difference between a Chinese and a Japanese, which is pretty common. There is no reason why she felt uncomfortable. The yelling of 'Don't touch her' and 'You are not in the same age' are racist statements actually, trying to portray Dr. K as a dirty old man. I still could not understand why being a communist was considered as a racist statement. Should it be a compliment instead?

This is getting so ridiculous now. First of all, Mr Kavanagh didn't play the piano for very long. We all saw the original livestream and he only played for 9 minutes. And the other girl was actually dancing before the incident happened and they were all having fun together. Also, you have to remember that to most Europeans all Asians look the same and most Europeans can't tell the difference between Chinese, Japanese, Koreans etc. And because Mr Kavanagh had been expecting a Japanese film crew, he got the Chinese mixed up with the Japanese, so why make such a big deal out of it? The same thing happens to me sometimes as well when I have contact with Asians, but I just get laughed at. Kavanagh didn't discriminate against anyone. Actually a lot of foreigners have fun with him as you see in his other videos.
The only one who was completely out of line was Mr Newton Leng. He's the one who needs to come out publicly and apologise and say he's sorry for blowing the situation up.
The point is: if you don't want to be filmed in public, you're free to walk away. No one would have even noticed the Chinese in the video if they hadn't caused such a stir. But now they're famous, and it's all their own fault.
PS: Regarding the flag, when Mr Leng said that Mr Kavanagh should educate himself: Mr Kavanagh made a factual statement. This flag is indeed a communist flag. In fact, it is the most communist flag in the world. Perhaps Mr Leng needs a bit more education himself.

  • @jonasgraham9250
    @jonasgraham9250 2 місяці тому +1

OK, Mengying, I watched his side and I watched your side. I finally think I understand the situation...
You (Mengying) and your friends Adelina and Newton were filming a Lunar New Year's greeting for a Chinese TV channel. It was being filmed before Lunar New Year so it was supposed to be a surprise. So, either you and/or your friend signed a Non-Disclosure-Agreement (NDA). However, you realized that you were already caught on film! OOOPS! So you tried to get Brendan to stop recording or to cut you out of the recording or whatever.
Newton came up with empty legal threats and shouted at Brendan to not touch Adelina, when he was touching her flag. That is not her. You and/or your friends also called the police on Brendan which escalated the situation.
The thing about the empty legal threats: they were baseless. Brendan was not party to your NDA. He was in a public place. As far as I know, the train station had no rules against filming or even a specific prohibition on filming that specific day (to protect your NDA) or any indication that they were asking people not to film. (If they did, you would have mentioned it.) It seems like neither you nor Brendan had any "filming permit". Again, this wouldn't be necessary, because, generally, you are allowed to film in a public place unless the place expressly forbids it. But perhaps if you had gotten some sort of "filming permit" from the train station, they might have reserved the piano for you, cleared the area, explained to passerbys that you might be filming them and, most importantly, prevented others from filming you, so you didn't breach your NDA. But you didn't.
You and your friends also brought up "image rights" which are a concept in Chinese law but not British law. So, y'all were threatening him with Chinese law, even though y'all were in the UK. He was quite right to remind you of that y'all were not in Communist China, since y'all were ignorant of British law and seemed to assume Chinese law applied to the UK.
Long story short: YOU and your friends screwed up! You were caught on camera, in a public place, thus violating your NDA that it was YOUR responsibility to uphold, not Brendan's. Your friend then tried to threaten Brendan with empty legal threats, shouted at him and called the cops on him.
He needlessly escalated the situation. If it wasn't for that, the TV production company would probably not have noticed that you violated the NDA, but now, they most certainly would have! Lookup "Streisand Effect". Your friend, Newton, is clearly not the sharpest tool in the shed!
