I've lived in Bullhead for 43 years. This is one of the finest videos I've watched, for a very long time, showing Bullhead, Laughlin, and the Colorado river! You do the area justice with your video. The river shots were terrific as well. Keep up the fine work.
I AM DESPERATE TO LEAVE LAS VEGAS WHERE I LIVE NOW. MY HOME IS NOT SAFE, MY SITUATION IS DIRE, ITS ABUSIVE AND MY FINANCES ARE BEING HELD CAPTIVE. CAN YOU PLEASE SIR, LET ME KNOW IF ITS POSSIBLE FOR ME TO TAKE MY SUV AND HAVE A TENT AND STAY IN LAUGHLIN? AND CAMP OUT? I AM WILLING TO STRUGGLE TEMPORARILY AS LONG AS I CAN LEAVE THIS HOUSE.... PLEASE LET ME KNOW ANY INFO YOU CAN.. I GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.
I first saw Laughlin in 65 .going through on a bus from the Bullhead side ..oh The lights ! At nite. I was 18 green behind the ears..oh was I impressed .now I boondock weekends there ..I'm high mileage lol
I lived in Las Vegas for 40 years, worked in construction for 23 1/2 years, and remember this area before the construction started. We worked on the first casino construction, at 124 degrees, and everybody was working with bug nets over their heads because the bugs were so thick along the river, the spraying took care of most of them. LOL.
I worked there for 2 years 2000-2002, my dad worked there for 28, he died in 2017. Love that place, so many memories. I’m actually coming back down in my skoolie here soon. I didn’t know they allowed 14 days stay, I’m excited to go. I’m hoping to leave Washington before winter so around October. My kid drove that same boat in 2002 when he was 2. I drove in when I was 15 years old, That boat is old! Lol
My wife and Mother in law worked there. They lived in Kingman and drove through Golden Valley. Back when it was two lanes and washes. My Father in law was a sparky and did the signs in Laughlin. Great video. God Bless you all!!!
Growing up here in the mid to late 90s and coming back here every so often brings a smile to my face because Bullhead really has grown so much since then and yet in some ways it really hasnt changed. Also i went on the USS Davis last year for my uncles wedding. It was an open bar and the ceremony was lovely!
Yep I have memories of Bullhead City and Laughlin at the Riverside the smaller building is the orginal casino before they build the bigger one. My wife worked at the Riverside as a change person back when they had coins. We stay in our 17ft travel trailer in the late 90's to work at the casinos. We jumped to parking lot to parking lot didn't have a lot of money back then. Always went inside when it got up to 110 to 120 in the parking lot. Enjoyed the river to cool off too. Well Russ take care and catch you later. I know I'm a little behind, saw this video and thought I'd check it out. (Wave) Oh, yea I met old Don back then and he was very personable and friendly my wife knew him too from working there. Back in the day Don owned a small gas station in Laughlin and it went from there to now.
I love the Celebration Cruise during the day. It's inexpensive, air conditioned, bar and great prime rib sliders! Thanks for taking this cruise to the dam..I haven't done that. The Celebration Cruise has the information loop also. I've heard it 10 X but never tire of it.
We went every year with my husband since 2006. Sadly He passed away this year and this video reminded me of all the times we were there. My memories are all I've got now. Thank You for sharing.
My husband and I went every Spring & fall for years and stayed in our RV with family & friends but sadly my husband also passed away in 2017 I'm so glad I came across this site because I feel confident enough to drive down there I have a small car now and wasn't sure if I'd be able to drive it on that rough road. But watching this great video I can see the road will be ok to drive my car down to the lake
We've been to the Laughlin Bike Rally years ago and it was a Blast! Love the River! We've had a lot of fun when we had our ski boat at Laughlin even though we used our $400 Stainless Steel Prop for a "Rock Margarita" in the shallow part of the river at Laughlin!
I grew up here and worked here. My sister got married on that boat. I worked in the car museum. It did not have all these stores. We had to go to Vegas for many things they did not have there. Like a good formal dress or hospitals. It was a different Laughlin too.
I lived in Bullhead city and Laughlin Nevada as a kid back in the late 80's goat Island at one time had lots of Peacocks and if I'm not mistaken it was owned ( probably still is ) by Don Laughlin ... Of course back then almost all the Casinos had the water taxis ( they used to be free) my Grandparents and I would go over to the Colorado bell and have dinner and I would go to the Nickle video game arcade they had on the second floor or go eat Sunday breakfast brunch buffet at the Edgewater and then bowl a little in the bowling alley they used to have ( not sure if they still have it ) .. Great video really brought back some old memories.
Had some great fun on my trip there .water taxi s that motor museum was something else .we stay at riverside motel.on arizona side oposite casinos .looking at your trip .looks like it's no longer there. nothing lasts forever . But your trips Russ bring it all back Thank you 👍👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
Glad your still here. Enjoy your videos. I have a serious problem with my Diesel engine. I pulled into a truck stop to fuel up filled my truck up at a diesel pump. 38 miles later I lost my turbo charger engine lost all power. I managed to get my camper to a campground. Turned the truck off that’s it! Had it towed to a dealership injectors, fuel pumps fuel lines and possibly the turbo charger. It was gasoline in the diesel. My insurance company investigated the situation. And approved all repairs. Thank goodness for that $14,000 bill
I have watched your vids for a long time, and what keeps me watching is the fact that every vid reminds me of the 11 years that I spent traveling the exact same roads and towns. Great vids...and Memories...
ikr? I had memories spent in las vegas. I was born in los angeles, but I las vegas, lauglin, etc/nevada in general was my second home. So I get somewhat homesick. Everyone in my family in both states moved on so I dont have much people to spend time with in either states unless its on vacation.
I so love that wonderful song God has provided, also that you for bringing the opportunity to hear them again in your videos. Love the view, but didn't catch where that was??
Great video Russ, and a place I have been to many times. If you get hungry In and Out is close to you on the right hand side of the street. This is a place I always stop at
Awesome Video.. I live in Fort Mohave right down the road. Moved here in 2012 for my job from Fresno, CA.. I love this area... People are friendly and perfect community for my kids to grow up in.. Hope you enjoy it.
Cool area around Laughlin, been thru there a few times over the years. River cruise is a great way to see around the area. Good tour around today Russ. 🇦🇺🇦🇺
Marvelous!👍👍🤗. Boat ride definitely worth $15. Beautiful day alright. Pigeons look healthy. Don't know why but I miss palm trees.🤣. Thank you. Take care.
Took that water taxi all my life! My grandfather had a place there since the 70s. So when visiting before we moved there, the water taxi was a high light! Man I loved that as a kid and was handy when I was a teenager.
I remembered going to the Nevada side when I was a kid around 1970(?) to fish and camp. It was just willows and water . There was a big house turned into a casino. It might have been Laughlin's original casino. My parents have passed on so there's no one to ask.
Really enjoyed. That's a pretty area with lots of Kodiak moments. Great for boondocking, and camping along the beautiful river. Those fishermen have a nice view. Perfect boat ride. Hopefully the goats are fed. Ty for taking us along, and sharing. 🙂👍
Once upon a time you had to cross the river at the dam so those water taxi's were the quick way to get to the casinos. Russ keep us informed on the fuel prices and temperature
Oh yeah ..In my working days I take people there like ones a week .stay three days 2 nights my favorite was going on that boat especially when it was hot 🔥🥵 Enjoy Russ ...be safe 😉😘
Man that brings back memories. In the early/mid 90's I used to drive to Laughlin from Phoenix after working all day Friday. Get off at 5pm, drive to Laughlin, play texas hold em all night then drive to Prescott where my parents lived. To be in my 20's again LOL.
Another fun adventure and still not a cross country trek. Need more info on "Goat Island". My boating adventure will be on my 12 ' kayak this summer. Very fuel efficient. 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
I lived in bullhead in my twenties it was a blast.i dont live there now but i miss it so much.i lived on river front drive.. floating the river was the best.
I used to go to Laughlin in the mid 1980s when they had two casinos (Edgewater and Riverside), and a little shack with two gas pumps. That's all there was. Look at it now.
Hi, Russ! I enjoyed your BHC and Laughlin video. I live here in Bullhead, thank you for promoting our town and the great amenities. So you know, the Riverside Hotel offers the free water taxi, it crosses the river as you showed, and it docks with the other one for $5. The goat island used to have Peacocks years ago but when the water level dropped the coyotes took them out, sad to say. The dam was built in 1948 I believe, being an earthen dam makes some nervous at times, lol. Thanks again!
I was there decades ago when the owner lady allowed weddings on the island .... It was pretty much serene and lush and pretty then ... Barry and Linda got married there , right ?
I lived in that area for 27 years, 84-11. From the look of this video, I’m guessing it’s the middle of a weekday. Weekends and holidays, it’s very busy on that river and downright dangerous with all kinds of folks operating water vehicles as carelessly as we saw with that wave runner. Imagine 20+ operating the same way at the same time, plus jet boats. Dangerous. Shuttle boats used to be free and, at one time, almost all the casinos ran shuttles. Now, it’s only the Riverside. I never took for granted how clean the river water is. No industry on the river. Gorgeous area. Rich, blue skies. Brutally hot: 110+ daily June almost through September, surpassing 120 on occasion in June. Monsoon July-September. Almost always windy 22-25 mph. During the winter, it can be a very cold 50 degrees. Actually freezes two or three nights total each winter. It even periodically but rarely snows in the mtns but that melts by early afternoon. River water is 58 degrees year round. On the north end of town, behind the dam is Lake Mohave that runs 60+ miles to the Hoover Dam. Water can warm to almost bath water temps. It’s gorgeous up there. Major work there is play. Work ethic there is minimal. A person’s word there means nothing. Incivility amongst people there is unbelievable. Very high crime. Low educational level. Ultraconservative politics. Very low standard of living. With climate change and dangerously low rainfall, this area could very well become almost a ghost town within thirty years. Seriously. With decreasing rain and snow falls in that part of the country, contractors keep building houses and the SW won’t be able to sustain the population boom. I enjoyed the video, yet I’m so glad to be out of that place. Visit, drop some money, have some fun, and then leave before it eats you up.
Ok this is gonna tell my age but here we go... ive been going to bullhead since the 70s. There was no bridge to cross the river, you had to cross on the dam. There was only 3 casino's I believe and they were small. The food was dirt cheap, anyway water taxi's? Heck Don Laughlin used to fly people across the river in helicopters for free! My mom was good friends with Betty Laughlin they went tubing on the water and the casino employees would pick them down river.I worked @ the Golden Nugget, i now live in kingman. 😀
Always love bullhead and Laughlin videos Russ, when you're at lake Mead try and stop by callville bay marina they have a store and bar and campground etc really nice oasis.
Oh man such a cool video. The boat ride was great I could almost feal the wind on me. Sure, would have liked to off dipped my toes in the Colorado. Glad I found your site the more I watch it. Take care see you Later .✋👍.
I took that same cruise last year and really enjoyed it and hope to take it again next time I’m in the area. They give so much history of the area you can’t absorb it all in one ride. I was there in October and there was only about 10 people on the cruise.
According to what I found on "Goat Island" it doesn't have a name and is owned by the Riverside Casino. The island used to home to a large flock of Peacocks. But coyotes and other animals got them. According to the Mohave Daily News

Hey Hey It's RVerTV Russ, Thanks once again my friend for the Day.👍
I have always loved the Colorado River, clear, cold and blue. Great trout fishing at Lee's Ferry!! Great video, Russ!
I mix it up with the Rio Grande. Does it turn into it in MX.?
I lived in Las Vegas for 40 years, worked in construction for 23 1/2 years, and remember this area before the construction started. Hi thank you for sharing love
The Riverside Casino thank you for taking us on a boat ride that was awesome 😎👍🏼
Visited Laughlin a couple times. I remember it being so hot, all you wanted to do was find shade. You picked the perfect time of year to visit.

Wonderful trip
The upstairs car show is really good, and if I remember right, the no smoking casino is on the same level.
I used to go to Laughlin in the mid 1980s when they had two casinos (Edgewater and Riverside), and a little shack with two gas pumps. That's all there was. Look at it now.
I was here a few months ago!

The Riverside Security Guards take care of the goats I do believe. They feed and watch after them. The goats are there to keep down the foliage.
