Dude, I really enjoy how this is just how your mom cooks. It reminds me of standing in the kitchen with my family growing up, not like a UA-cam chef teaching a dish. She cooks to make the dish to enjoy with her children, no other reason; not for views, not to impress, not to validate technique. Mom cooks to feed and feel good, And I'm here for it.
I remember cooking this dish with my then girlfriend (now wife) roughly 10 years ago. You and your mom did a similar cooking show back then and featured this recipe. It is absolutely delicious! I've made several shepherds pies over the years and this one here is definitely one of the better ones! Thank you to both you and your mother for making these wonderful videos again, they are always a joy to watch.

there are two types of these "pies" ones called shepards pie and the other is cottage pie. Shepards pie is the same but with ground lamb, and cottage pie is with ground beef
Maybe where your from but Shepard's pie is normally made with ground beef. Layer of beef layer of creamy corn layer of mashed potatoes. Never seen it done like Swifty did it.

Sheperd's pie can be made with beef. The people from the South cook it that way.
