I first looked at this Tractor over 2 years ago. Then building a 40'X60' shop got in the way.
This vid is just a small part of what I have been going through with this International Harvester B-414 Diesel Tractor. It's been setting 10 years.
I have many hours filmed of me trying to get this tractor running. Full vid of all that was wrong with the Tractor later.
My first time trying to get a dead diesel running.
Many thanks for the subs, likes and comments.
Thanks for looking.
I smell success in the near future. For someone that claimed to not be a diesel mechanic, you're doing quite well! Looking forward to the expanded videos as well. Good luck!
Thanks very much.
I've learned a lot about diesels from this, because everything that could be wrong was.
I've been hardheaded keeping to myself pledge that I would take it home when I could drive it on the trailer. I'm close.
Enjoyed hearing her cranck, what’s the status now? Thanks for sharing and hope you have a blessed weekend.
Good Timing. I got it running yesterday. Came home and got my trailer, went back and it wouldn't start. I will try again today.
It has fought me in every way it can.
Hey Clint. Just checking in on your dead diesel project. Apologies if I missed a posting. Curious if you had any luck getting that bad boy started and if you had any future plans for it. Many thanks.
Thanks for your interest. It's in my shop. Lots of filming done. My computer is so old I'm having bad problems editing long vids. So I'm going to get a new computer soon. Then I will post more vids.
What a fine looking B414, glad you're rescuing it. My dad has a B414 diesel as well ('65 model year) and I'm trying my best to do some repairs. Mainly the glow plug system. No working gauges either..
My advice to you would be checking the lift pump to see if it's doing its job, then make sure to bleed any air at the injection pump. It should purr once you have no air and enough fuel coming through. Good luck!
Thank you.
The tractor has a lot of good. Rear tires are good. No missing parts. It comes with a good brush hog. Which is what I will use it for.
3 of the glow plugs are burned out. I won't replace them until I get it home and pull the head to clean the prechambers or they will just burn out again.
All the gauges are bad. I ordered a set off Ebay for $33. They look very good.

Think of the knowledge you’ve accumulated! You bout got it buddy!
You are right buddy. I have learned a lot.
I really thought you had it there! 😡 Good luck buddy👊
Thanks Andrew. I did also.
I just got home from a trip. I hope to get back there in a few days.
Good day from Ontario. Them fellows need glow plugs, they are indirect injection & they need heat.
Good luck. Thanks
Thanks Don. 3 of the glow plugs are burned out and the good one is on the end of the wiring, So, none work because they are in series.
Once I get it home, I will fix all of that.
Thanks for your interest and input.
