I like to stay to the mower root and keep factory style transaxle and engines. But we did build a very small rider and used a 110cc atv engine and it's just as much fun!
I have done the same thing with a 15hp kawasaki and a turbo off a c3.3 cat what I have seen was the farther away the carb was from the intake the harder it was to make it idle
With my first build doing draw thru turbski I always had to have an intake tube on the inlet side of the carburetor. When I had a filter directly on the carburetor it wouldn't run correctly, I still don't completely understand that
If you're in the MN area we are looking to get out on the lakes asap but the recent warm weather and rain has made the lakes very wet on top of the ice. Also about ready for the new twin turbo build
I'm making a turbo mower off a single cylinder Briggs on a Montgomery ward and I'm having a decent amount of trouble trying to figure out a oil system for the turbo I'm wondering what you did, I'm thinking of getting a cheap electric oil pump to pump it into the turbo but am not sure yet. Would love some input!

@@firemyster4707 thanks! This is just the info I was looking for, I was able to find alot of this info when I was first starting to look for info on how to do it
The bigger the vtwin the more expensive typically, keep your eyes open on the web. I picked up a 34hp kawasaki vtwin for one of the other mowers for $300!
Wow dude just wow I need more speed and some donuts too I want to do this to a 20 horse herd that ain't hard all you need is a good cable and be able to weld good
It's really not terrible and you don't have to weld super good, this is just lawn mower science. In the drifting world we call the moving donuts a 360 or 720 etc. It's crazy how all the same principles transfer to drifting a mower on ice. You can clutch kick, mower deck handle converted to a handbrake. It's great practice on the off season and a fraction of the cost. Also works well in loose gravel areas!
The carb is setup as draw thru, wastegate welded shut, 125cc 2 stroke dirt bike carb on a 724cc vtwin. It's definitely not the best setup or even perfected but it ran great minus low rpm and made 6 psi with intake gaskets leaking
Honestly no idea, I've had this mower for probably 7 years and originally built it to cruise around at the racetrack when I'm competing with my car. Nowadays I just use it as a project to practice any fabrication skills. We also do Lawn mower drag races in the summer. Realistically without going crazy you could pick up an old rider for cheap usually under $100 then pulley and belt swap for $60-100 and you'll be doing 30-60 mph. Stud the edges of tires for Ice, that way traction is adjustable via rear tire pressure. The best way to posi a rear end is getting a spare or broken one and remove the spider gears to reinstall into the good one by just adding 2 more. So a total of 6 spider gears will make it a posi with no welding required.
Thank you for that much needed info so many groups of race/mud mowers but no one ever explains anything I'll probably have some questions for you I'm the near future hope you don't mind lol
CJ Cusey it sounds awesome man. I have a mower that I want to put a turbo on. Should be easy enough to do the plumbing for the turbo on an opposed twin. Tho, I like the Vtwin sound more
I have the outer edges of the tire studded, If I want more traction I go down on tire psi or less traction I go up on psi. It's setup to be more like a drift car but since that is put away during winter I practice on the ice while fishing
Yes the typical lawn tractor transaxle has many ways to lock the diff. I currently do the easiest way by adding 2 extra spider gears which are automatically held in place, I think it is a much better method than welding them. Less messy, no axle hop from the weld not being perfect, and I also fill them with gear oil instead of grease
We definitely need a lawnmower drifting competition
Definitely agree, way cheaper than the real deal!

get that thing some studded tires will be a monster out there
She is "drift" studded on the outer edges of the tires. Traction is based on tire pressure which I had high pressure in this video for less traction.

26hp Briggs Intek motor on 6 psi with a 2 stroke 125cc dirt bike carburetor
What ride on mower comes with the Briggs 26hp Intek engine or did you engine swap it
This 26hp Briggs is from a 2009 Cub Cadet
Anybody that watches this and doesn't give it a LIKE ,should be ashamed of them selves.
