My Dad had a TBI when he was 15, he was hit with a hurl playing hurling, basically a very hard wooden stick. It fractured his skull and he stayed in hospital for months. He was very intelligent and still is but has had a very tragic life, his marriage failed, he suffered with depression and anxiety his entire life. He’s 72 now. He was unemployed for most of his life, very disorganized and made bad decision after bad decision. He was always looked at as being lazy and a bit of a bum but I really think all his issues come from that injury when he 15.
27 year TBI survivor here from a bad car wreck on 3/31/97... I was in the Hospital 26 days and Physical Injury for 18 months .. I struggle with repeating myself, speech issues, poor multitasking skills, poor short term memory etc... Post TBI I attempted and failed at several careers-( Special Education Teacher,Car Salesman,911 Radio Dispatcher)... A combination of dealing with issues with TBI,PTSD and career failures led to Depression,Anxiety and Suicidal Thoughts... I now FINALLY have a somewhat decent quality of life... I FINALLY received SSDI -( Social Security Disability Income ) after 15 years,4 appeals and 3 attorneys... I now drive for a car dealership part time and build model cars as a hobby.... These activities bring meaning to my life, help me deal with my TBI and PTSD issues and improve my self esteem ...
Thank you for this video, I wish my past treating doctors at IHA and UofM knew this information. Why is there a statue of limitations for workmans comp, medical neglect and medical misdiagnosis, for a patient being treated with a TBI?
This is a, world wide problem. 43 percent of people have had a brain injury. Including stroke, cancer, infection, sound waves, chemical inhalation, tbi, deprived oxygen, and all other abi's.
me too , i got few concussion as well (1,2)... and this video kind of terrified me . Although according to my doctor ,living a brain healthy life style will mitigate those risk . So yeah.. we need to take care..cheers!
Um yes but the drs in ct they saved me and I can say that my case it turned out like only a few I feel my recovery and stuff like being able to walk and a list of other things that come with severe tbi and spinal fusion I should not be able to walk but there a few miracles and I feel as though I’m a miracle boy

Thank you for this video, I wish my past treating doctors at IHA and UofM knew this information. Why is there a statue of limitations for workmans comp, medical neglect and medical misdiagnosis, for a patient being treated with a TBI?
Because the law and the people that run the law are greedy selfish demons
