That's a great question :) It's kind of a mix between a spring creek and a tailwater. Certainly not a freestone. www.orvis.com/what-are-tailwaters-spring-creeks-and-freestones
Thanks for the video-very nice! I lived in Alameda about 20 years ago but moved away years before I took up fly fishing. If I ever make it back.....!
Well edited, looking forward to more. Well shot too, take ur time and I could be in for some sweet videos.
No idea what is YTs problem... this video should have more views. There so many poorly shot videos with minimal to no editing out there.
Get a copy of Craig Ballenger’s book “Shasta’s Headwaters”. Excellent little treatise on the ecology, history and fishery of the region.
Pollard Flat, Dog Creek, La Moine, phenomenal fishing!!!
nice.. seem to me it look like Mossbrae Falls near by Dusmuir .... there real beauty place.
What species of fish was that at 2:09? Great video!
Pikeminnow

How was Mossbrae falls? Any good fish there?
I’m new to fly fishing heading up there early July any tips and recommendations?
How is it a freestone when there is a lake and a damn?
Do you know what freestone is?? The river bed is made of “Rocks” free stone..... not sand.
