    Nice video. Thinking often about Boquette for retirement. No real life savings but I think selling my house & belongings will supplement Social Security better there than in U.S. Weather, beauty, safety, and nice people are also drawing me there.

      Great place to retire if you don't mind the murders, drug traffickers, drug cartels, Mafia, human/organ trafficking etc. Just stay off the El Pianista trail. 🙏

      Our trip was centered around Boquete. We fell in love with the whole country based on our interactions with Chiriquí. We may be setting ourselves up to be "catfished", but so far... we are totally in love!

    Thanks from Corpus Christi TX! Panama is my birth country but been residing in my paternal country for many years. My husband and I would love to retire over there (Boquete). You guys keep enjoying and posting!

      Happy wife, happy life! Take her down there for a vacation. Even if just a week. She’ll fall in love with the place the same way we did!

      @@messingwithtexas That's the plan.... probably going to try to do a private tour from Panama Relocation Tours just in the Boquete, Volcan and Cerro Punta area.

    Looks like you rented a car, can you share more about that? Did you rent in Boquete? Cost? Any issues or problems? We will be exploring Panama next year, and wonder about car rental vs buses & taxis. Thank you.

    • @messingwithtexas
      @messingwithtexas  Рік тому +2

      Yes. So it was a bit of a shock actually. We rented it in David near the airport so we could drive around Boquete, Volcan, and Chiriquí. It was very inexpensive for a week. I think about $100 for 5 days... HOWEVER... we had to purchase insurance that would make it legal for us to drive in country... and it was an additional $300! We may have messed up somewhere, but thats what happened with us. It was still worth it, but expensive.

    May I ask a dumb question please….how do you use that song without copywriter issues ? Thanks very much !
    We are retiring soon and hope to travel from Mexico to Buenas Aires in search of the best spot for us. Boquete is on our list for Sure. We speak Spanish and have lived abroad before. Not sure if we want to be around lots of tourists and expats. It would be nice to have a few friends but we want a local feel and not USA-light. Thx for the video !

    • @messingwithtexas
      @messingwithtexas  Рік тому +1

      Not dumb at all. So even with the opening remixed, it is recognized as belonging to Sony and Little Texas. However, because the artist allows it to be used on media platforms, I do not have a copyright “strike” for it, just a notification that it is claimed. As the channel grows, I will either opt to work out a deal with the owner of the material so as to not interfere with my ability to monetize, or choose not to monetize the videos with that material. If you saw our video for the Sandhills State Park, we use other music we bought the rights to use.
      Thanks for the feedback. We too are looking at other options as well. But admittedly are looking kind of USA (very) light. In Boquete, we loved that we can go 10 minutes in any direction and get out of the expat and tourist zones, but we’re able to drop in, use our credit card and pick up some Cheetos if we wanted to.

    • @dustindiaz9493
      @dustindiaz9493 Рік тому

      yeah it is very relaxed right now, they only ask you to wear them now if you are in an hospital or in public transportation.....and even then people kind of tend to not do it.....I just wear it while doing some works at hospitals and the like

      Change of pace, cost of living, beautiful weather. For us, it’s most likely a periodic back and forth thing.
