Mastercam Trick: 3D Slot Ramping using flowline toolpath

- Slots that laying on a taper surface can be more effectively milled using 3D ramping method, this method created by using some trick with Mastercam Flowline Toolpath
Eliminate air cutting moves, reduce the required tool-length in some cases make this method be useful.
Interesting trick, breaking the arcs at the end of the slot. That never would have occurred to me. Thank you for that.
Sir can plz send me this modal for practice
anh ơi sao a không làm nhiều video tiếng việt cho ae học hỏi
Great video my friend.. keep up the good work...
I can hand program that slot in about 5 minutes using a sub program. All I have to know is the length and width of the slot, and the difference in Z from end to end of the slot. It is as simple as doing a flat slot, but just adding the Z values. I don't consider that feature, (or that part) 3-d machining, because I can easily program the slot by hand with about 15 program blocks of data. In fact, I can program that entire part by hand, (may be not as fast as a proficient 3-d programmer), with a several sub programs, since there are no complicated curved surfaces the tool has to follow. That part is all linear lines and circle interpolation. If I had a order for a number of those parts, I know I would not spend 10's of thousands of dollars for a software program, because I can program that part, (looks like 3 operations with no rotary table), by hand in one day. I do plan of getting a bigger machine to make billet parts, but it looks like the 3-d program companies are going to lease you the program, (instead of you buying it), and pay a continual charge of thousands/year. I am looking into such programs now, but I want to own the program. I don't want the program to own me.
That's great really

Hi Anh Giang,
I have a few questions for you about master cam do you think you can email me?
WOW.. cảm ơn anh.. có mánh này hay đấy.. cứ 2d cut chờ dài cổ..thanks
Hey, Great trick. But Do you have a way to control tool comp. G41 G42 with the Flow line tool path? Thanks
no i don't think so because the flow line is 3D toolpath and there is no tool comp G42 G41 with 3D toolpath. Only with 2D toolpath you can manage the tool radius comp. otherwise great video GIANT THE TOOL, i already had to redraw the surfaces to get the right motion tool but your trick is very interessting
Thanks for the tutorial, you're the best!
Thanks Friend
Thanks for video and for sharing your knowledge
