A very perceptive comment. I agree totally. I don't think it's a common thing to return after so long and, as you say, find that your fan base has grown bigger and younger in those intervening years.

@@jallen911 Thats because there is a "recycled" little riff. At around the 2min mark of No longer making time, if you listen closley, there is a 2 note riff, which is the same this song uses throughout the entirety of the song.

It's fascinating how their songs are architected... it starts melancholically welcoming, and then the climax hits and you are overwhelmed with feelings. I love this band so much.

I have never been so excited to listen to some new music in such a long time until now. I'm a new slowdive fan, maybe a week old. Some guy in a discord group sent me 'sleep' to listen to and I fell in love instantly with your music. Since then I've been exploring the rest your work and I cherished every second of it. I feel giddy with excitement just by the thought of my new journey with slowdive. I'm so happy. I don't know any other way to explain it. SLOWDIVE RULES!!!

This song takes you to a cozy place, but at the same time melancholic. A big hug from Chile
Melanchozy -- the combination of melancholy and cozy -- and your description is exactly how Slowdive has been making me feel since I discovered them around the time of their Souvlaki release, thanks to a wonderful college station that had the good sense to play a couple of their songs!
Wall of sound is back. I love the gritty distortion in there, mixed in with the ambient reverb and delay
Neil Halstead’s sublime vocals float above wall-of-sound guitars and echo-laden drums.

I've loved Slowdive since Just For A Day came out. I even wrote a review for a Slowdive fanzine of the California shows on the Souvlaki tour. (Which I also bootlegged. haha) I was gutted when they broke up after Pygmalion.
It's such a wonderful time when we get to enjoy brand new Slowdive music here in 2023.
