These are all “Dream Boats” in my opinion. Also trailering and launching a 20+ foot boat maybe not the easiest for a beginner. But it’s really fun to look at the boats and I did enjoy the video.
I love this video. I know most commenters agree that these new boats are way too expensive to be literally starter boats for most people, BUT, I think it’s worth looking at features and trends, and then comparing the “new design thinking” to what may be available in an older, less expensive boat. After all, what people seem to “wish they had” on their current boats starts to end up on newer boats as a standard option…such as your alternating cup holder/rod holder upgrade!
Started with 17' cc with 70 2 stroke evinrude. Fished 25 miles off Miami for years. Used to make 50 ft charter captains mad because we would out fish them and their clients could see
$100k is pretty budget unless you want a tiny bay boat or something. I'm looking at a Robalo r230 for my first (right around $100-105k). I've been into ski racing for a long time just never bought a boat. Always went on friends'. $100-120k is reasonable for a beginner/first boat.
In most likely hood these kids didn't buy their own boat they do not live in reality of most families. An older pursuit 2460 may even be a stretch for most families but is a better family boat than their 6 figure selections.
Overall a good video. The Cobia 280 is high on my list. You missed the opportunity to show off the large front entry head on that one. It is an important feature for family happiness.
I just put a deposit down on a Sea Hunt Ultra 255 SE for our first family boat. I figure it’s a good inshore and sand bar boat when the family is on and will be good for cruising the ICW with the seating and toilet and side entry door. Though when I want to take it offshore fishing it can make it. It also has a single engine for less maintenance and only drafts 14” so can get pretty shallow too. This one checked all the boxes for us. Though I haven’t actually been out on it since it won’t be delivered for 3-6 months so not sure if all of that will play out in real life.
Your best one Yet! great sound with the new wireless lavs and some really insightful comments about the boat designs, and I love the repartee between you both, Fantastic! 👍

Thank you girls for the excellent information, as always, delivered in a very entertaining way. I'm in the market for a boat, having just bought a house in Port St Lucie. So, this information will come in handy.

@@keithscudder7136 ah dang I guess I'm a little out of the loop, I haven't missed a beat 2019, "Meaning my life has been relatively the same" But I guess that makes sense.
The drop down step at the helm is the work of a mad genius. I'm about 5'8" but unlike most guys, my height is focused around my chest/stomach area instead of my legs so this would help me immensely. The only thing that keeps me from buying a boat other than inflation is that I'll be sharing the water with credit card captains. Nothing worse than plopping down over $50-60K for a center console and some idiot is showing off and T-bones my brand new boat. I guess it'll be a long time before I ever get one.
I think the best boat for fishing/family friendly is a 27ft dual console. You can go off shore with it or to the sandbars, the helm area you can cover it all up and you won’t be affected by the elements like rain or the heat. There’s a head for anyone to use. And a bunch of seating. This is better than the center console in my opinion becuase you get more shade and seats with the dc than the cc. Also some dual console boats come with AC and heater.
I know you’re in Florida, but do you guys ever use non CC boats? Being a northerner, a helm than can at least be closed or mostly closed with canvas is kind of a necessity if you want to fish more than just the summer. Any chance you could look at some family friendly fishing starter boats that are cabin or walk around?
It wouldn't make sense for them to do so since they are in FL and the market doesn't support cold-climate boating. You may want to try a northerners YT channel for boating.
@@kookiethebear cabins or canvas covers aren’t cold weather specific. I used to live and fish in CA, and a cabinish area was still very desirable to allow you to get out of the sun. I don’t know how Florida boaters spend all day in direct sunlight in a center console. Hot or cold, I need to be able to get at least 4 people out of the direct sun or cold if I’m going to spend 4+ hours on the water. P.S. 99% of the fishing UA-camr channels I follow are in the PNW, so I’m good on that front.
2005-2008 Proline 21 with Mercury OB are the best starters. Tough simple boats that can get all beat up as a beginner. Then sell it and upgrade to the 100-200k price range boats.
I would pick up a used boat for my entry level boat, if you have never docked a boat before it’ll sting way less if you smack a dock with a $50k boat then if you do it with a brand new $100k+ boat.
I have to laugh at the price of the boats. I bought a new 19' Regal cuddy cabin with a 175 hp I/O in 1986 for $14,500 out the door. I boated Lake Erie in it for 20 years and loved every minute of it.
I'm moving to FL in about a week from AZ. So excited. I visit there a lot to see family and we go fishing when I visit. We use my brothers jet skis to fish from. I plan on buying a boat, on a budget so nothing very large and expensive. I'm nervous about getting "taken" by a shady boat dealer. Is there any honest dealers you'd recommend in the Venice, FL area? I think I'll be looking for about a 22' CC. Any recommendations for a used one?
Hello Lady Captins, I'm trying to learn how to throw a 6' cast net. I usually fish in the Indian River (out of Fort Pierce) or the St. Lucie River (out of Jensen Beach). My wife and I are planning to move to south Florida and buy our first boat. Great video. Maybe you could do a video about what to look for when buying a used boat.
A couple questions to ask yourself. Is the hull in a good condition? How many hours are on the motors? Personally, for our Hewes wanted to get less than 500 hours (which we got) but definitely wouldn’t do more than 1000.
first thing do a compression test on engine, that will tell you what kind of condition the engine is in, inspect each spark plug as you remove it for compression test any grey walk away.anyone who will NOT let you perform a compression test or have it taken to a reputable shop for an inspection is trying to sell you a pita and is hiding something, dont expect them to pay for the check up though! But a check over will save you a lot of headaches, time on water and money, after buying a used boat replace the water pump impeller, and spark plugs, keep in mind that impeller could have been brand new 2 hours of run time before you bought it, but was boat stored for any length of time after replacement and use, the chemicals in water are what breakdown the materials the impeller is made of, they also develope a "set" after a time which means they no longer have straight blades and will look curved when you remove it, also look at the propeller, does it have nicks, gouges, cracked or broken blades? that indicates a bottom strike, rocks etc, and possible internal gear damage translated A BIG MONEY REPAIR hope that helps some John
You missed the Mezzanine seat at the helm. The Helm seat actually rotates to face backwards. thats why there was a foot fold down on the back of the helm seating.

Family friendly fishing boat appears to be a dual console. Family assuming a range of ages I feel we need max cover and blocking from the wind; dual console. Please look at Dual Consoles at Scout, Grady and World Cat. At the end of the day with sunburned and wet kids, a tired wife and a guy who didn’t catch anything at the end of the day you’ll want a DC at the end of the day. Cheers
I’d like an entry level center console for fishing. I’m thinking I’d be mostly in the intracoastal waterways of Venice, FL and the surrounding areas. These boats are way too expensive. I love your videos but how about a beginner boat with a beginner cost?
Hi beautiful twins, new subscriber here, only been in a boat 2 times in the last 40 years, just completed my boat course and exam, and got my boaters license card but so much to learn. Watched about 5 of your videos at the neighbors house and already learned a lot. Loving your videos, will be watching every single one.
Man I just bought my first new saltwater boat 215k and it had a a dozen things wrong with it when I picked it up. Are all these production boats that way?? I was pretty down about it.
There's always something broken on a boat or something that needs to be fixed... but if it came with a bunch of problems I'd definitely try talking to the company and see if they can help with the repairs.
@@GaleForceTwins oh for sure. I’ve owned many boats but this is my first to buy brand new. The dealer said bring it back and we will get to work on it. The sad part is they did a “shake down” and run the boat and still send it out the door with all these problems. Took me 1hr in the boat to find all of it. Disappointed in the manufacturer and dealer letting it out the door. I have to haul it 4.5 hrs back and I bought from my nearest dealer. Just disheartening. But I will give them the opportunity to make it right.
Grady's quality is so obvious even to a novice like me. After I stepped on my first GW I knew I wanted it. Grady White Freedom 215 is my dream starter boat. I need to buy used because I don't have the budget for new but I don't see many available. Should I be looking around North Carolina area?
A good starter boat is none of the ones shown (those are all new expensive and going to depreciate significantly after the first time you use it). Quite a few boats down the road I recommend someone starts with some thing mechanically sound, affordable (maybe a older hull that’s been re-powered with a lower hours motor) and find out what you like first. Persons going to learn a lot about boating in the first few years (hull design, handling) Then you might do like me and catch a case “bigger boat-itis “ only to realize that there’s a sweet spot for towing and fuel consumption as well as lower maintenance and then downsize again. After you’ve been doing it a while and really know what you want then consider buying a new one from the boat show (of course this is advice for my fellow anglers whom aren’t made of money). I’ve known several friends that bought new only to take a hit
@galeforcetwins obviously just spend their parents money... so they don't care about actual value$ and have a ridiculou$ view of life for $uggesting these a$ $tarter$.
Not everyone looking for their 1st saltwater boat is looking for “just” a bargain. I’m new to offshore fishing and set a max price range of 175k, this video was informative for somebody like me that has a limited boating background.
@@tyamey29 then take it from me as being a little further down the road. You’re likely to learn a lot unless you got incredibly lucky the one you purchased now won’t be the one you want later (or you may not realize that the one you got now is the one you want later until you’re a few boats down the road and decide to go back). My point isn’t about a bargain, Their video can be helpful however unless you have an endless budget (hey and if you do good for you) The average person isn’t spending hundreds of thousand over and over. Including these girls I’ve been watching their good videos for a long time and these weren’t their starter boat. My last boat was a 30 foot ocean runner , rigged with a lot of goodies but I realized I had went too big and it wasn’t practical for my family plus the fuel consumption made every trip expensive. I downsized to what fits 95% of my boating and jump on the charter for the other 5.

Only top tier boats for the Gale Force Twins. 😊 These boats are great, but obviously aimed at families with above average discretionary income. It's like shopping BMW and Mercedes Benz vs Ford and Chevrolet.
They don't know the struggle like some of us lol. Shit my pop booth a Grady sailfish in 91 and I think he paid like 80,000 back then with everything Loran radar etc. Loran, the twins prolly don't even know what that is 🤣😂🤣
I got lucky extremely lucky on my boat. Went down to Ocala fl for a jon boat. In back of the lot they had a 04 seacraft 20 being sold as is. The mechanic said the engine couldn't be fixed and recommended sell as is for 8,000. I bought this boat without question. I'm half way home and the sells guy calls back asking me to bring it back. Apparently the company owner was pissed, the boat was valued at 30 thousand. In a nutshell there was nothing wrong with the engine and I basically got a 30k boat for 8k.
You have obviously never watched hall over inlet vids. Those boats with the huge bath tub in the front are literally death traps. You take one wave over the front and the boat sinks.
My opinion, the first family boat should be two kayaks , one for the instructor and one for any beginners. Nothing like a personally propelled boat for the beginner to learn the water, wind, and waves. Way to many people buying power boats without a clue to be safe and courteous to other boaters!
Although Everglades make a great boat, I would disagree. It’s a hard-core fishing boat my opinion the bow area gets in the way of fishing. It would need to be a flat deck for me to consider a hard-core fishing boat.

@@angelc6395 thank you. I’ve researched the sportsman masters 227 since your comment and have spoken with a few people that own them. Given the reviews and price, I might go with that since we have a nearby dealer and service dept in fort Walton.
@@brycehartzog8154 You're welcome. The Sportsman Masters 227 looks pretty good. 👍
Im not sure if any has ever considered Everglades or boats with twins as entry-level or starter
I boat a twin 30 footer as my first boat
We don’t need a second engine for safety bc we have a plastic oar that screws together.
🤣🤣🤣
Family friendly fishing boat appears to be a dual console. Family assuming a range of ages I feel we need max cover and blocking from the wind; dual console.
Please look at Dual Consoles at Scout, Grady and World Cat.
At the end of the day with sunburned and wet kids, a tired wife and a guy who didn’t catch anything at the end of the day you’ll want a DC at the end of the day.
Cheers
Well said. Or even a walk around.
You didn't catch anything because you were on a dual console. Definitely family friendly, but not a fishing boat.
Make and model?
Another great video ! We are from Greenville North Carolina home of Grady White boats ! Do you girls like any Grady White boats ???
Go Pirates !!
Grady's quality is so obvious even to a novice like me. After I stepped on my first GW I knew I wanted it. Grady White Freedom 215 is my dream starter boat. I need to buy used because I don't have the budget for new but I don't see many available. Should I be looking around North Carolina area?
How do you feel about the Yamaha center console boats? none of these types of videos ever mention them, is their a reason why?
Can you fish from a Leopard 77 powercat?........
Nice selection ladies, I'd be leaning towards a 24-28 foot TwinVee center console as a starter.
You're only recommending center console boats?
Great review keep it coming
Sage advice!
Y’all are sad and obviously green with envy.
Do you have a list of the boats?
Awesome video! Thanks a lot for recording it! 😃
Hi, do you have a video about best rib? ThNks
I would would say that a boat that big is more than enough for an offshore boat. We have a 5 metre tinny and we go way offshore with it
150k for a starter boat? Must be nice. Whats the next budget step up from that a Midnight express? lol
@GaleForceTwins have y’all ever seen or been on a Crevalle?
Caymas is definitely my favorite
Thanks for sharing this information
Hey, if yall get the opportunity could you do a review of some 20 to 26 ft cat boats of different brands?
And thank you for doing the instructional videos. There nice to watch as I'm not on the water as much as the 2 of you are.
Any input on a 28 Cobia vs 30 sea hunt and 292 tidewater?
For build quality I'd go with the Cobia of the boats you listed.
Actually the starting at $150K is not that bad I think its a good deal on the Cobia IMHO
I would like you to show videos of a budget boat under $30,000 as a new buyer what do you recommend
Very nice boats 👍🏻👍🏻
OMG, Entry level boats are 17-20 footers. If your first boat is 20+ you are going to join all the other newby clowns at the boat ramp making a show.
Broncos Guru and Alfred running the Chit Show would be happy to have the new footage.
Loved the video and Will definitely be an entry level
Winter time we just drive trucks on the lake I got a Jon boat for the rest
Can you go to check out Grady white 336 canyon
hello can i pull a bayliner 25 foot cabin cruiser with a 2012 infiniti qx56??? i need to know if i wont have any problems when taking it out of the water thank you so much anyone??????????????????????????
So I guess my question would be can these boats be.pulled with a half ton pick up?
Love the videos
Great video as always. Except I would have liked to see the hole boat. More. Not just. The. Inside there are beautiful boats though. Thanks.
good afternoon indonesian time wau nice boat for fishing
Good info
Can you do a video of starship boats for people
Wow it must be nice to have millions in the bank I remember the old clunkers I started with how times have changed
Loran, the twins prolly don't even know what that is 🤣😂🤣
Unfortunately I can say I used a loran😂
I didn’t know the girls were noble my bad
Thanks for sharing 🍸
How much is a ticket to go to this boat show? Love ur vids 😊😊🥰🥰
Show us afordable boats for regular working families🙃😉
I got lucky extremely lucky on my boat.
Went down to Ocala fl for a jon boat. In back of the lot they had a 04 seacraft 20 being sold as is. The mechanic said the engine couldn't be fixed and recommended sell as is for 8,000. I bought this boat without question. I'm half way home and the sells guy calls back asking me to bring it back. Apparently the company owner was pissed, the boat was valued at 30 thousand.
In a nutshell there was nothing wrong with the engine and I basically got a 30k boat for 8k.
Oh if only those “starter boats” were under 5k lol
Loved the vid 😃
5K with many zeros.
Looks like a good time Emily and Amanda gale
I wish I was there with you ladies at the boat show there in Florida Emily and Amanda.
What are the names and prices of each of these boats ?
You have obviously never watched hall over inlet vids. Those boats with the huge bath tub in the front are literally death traps. You take one wave over the front and the boat sinks.
Me not knowing anything about boats.
Expecting to pay no more than 40k.
2nd boat 280 cc -STARTS at $150,178.
Happiest days of life? The day you buy a boat and the day you sell it!!!!!
150k is a starter?
I'm liking the 23 footer.
Anyone following from the days of working with Moses?
Nice!
Thanks all
Everglades? Entry level? Cmon ladies. You’re usually on point.
Agree 💯
Rename this to “Millionaire starter boats” and you will be good to go.
Do your research when buying a used boat. Make sure everything was well taken care of.
Can y’all do under 80k boats CC
My opinion, the first family boat should be two kayaks , one for the instructor and one for any beginners. Nothing like a personally propelled boat for the beginner to learn the water, wind, and waves. Way to many people buying power boats without a clue to be safe and courteous to other boaters!
All a little spicy price wise for a beginner boat
Although Everglades make a great boat, I would disagree. It’s a hard-core fishing boat my opinion the bow area gets in the way of fishing. It would need to be a flat deck for me to consider a hard-core fishing boat.
