3D Projection Mapping

An update of where the projection mapping visuals have been going..
This video is outdated at this point, but for those of you who are curious,
I built this out of cardboard boxes, covered the boxes in white poster board, and generated custom visuals from the perspective of a single projector using maya, softimage, after effects, motion, and resolume. I then ran all of my custom visual loops through an APC40 midi controller to have full, realtime control over what was being projected on the blocks and when. Most of the effects of the visuals are dynamically driven by the music in the room.

Ive been playing around with video equipment since i was a kid.. but I really didnt start getting into projection mapping and content creation until about 4 years ago.

A 2 dimensional template is created, then brought into a 3D program and a replica model is created in C4D, Maya, Houdini or Softimage
