Thank you!! Keep it up :). If possible, pls make a video of your thought process on why you chose that exact model to buy and your future plans with the bike. As well, it would be good content if you try to meet with other Guzzi riders!!! 😇
That's a great idea. I'm sure there are other Guzzi'ists, is that a word? in the Denver area, i mean we have a shop that sells them, and they are currently sold out. so people have the bikes lol, but i honestly never see them out and about.
I have one for 18 months. I love it, still honeymoon ❤. This is my third Guzzi for now 30 years.
Very nicely review! Greetings from Mandello del Lario 🇮🇹🦅👍
Your comment: “what’s a moto guzzi” is something I get. A lot! Great video
As I get older finding the California Custom 1400 a bit big, think this will be my next bike. Like the Abarth in the background (once owned a Fiat Uno Turbo Abarth). Owning a Guzzi is hard to explain, but once you have, well like someone said hard to find a Guzzi owner who only had one.
I recently bought the same identical V7 Special in blue for my dad. Once I bought it, I kept it here in Milan for a month before delivering it to him nearby Venice, where he lives and, despite owning a 170 horsepower Ducati Multistrada V4S, I thoroughly enjoyed the characted of the V7. Absolutely lovely lovely bike, way more enjoyable than I expected. Thanks for sharing your videos, greetings from Italy.
Cheers buddy, sorry for the late response, but I'm happy to see this great comment, it really does have a lot of character to the bike, i've had a lot of friends take mine for a ride when we do group rides, and they are always really surprised and happy with the bike when they hop off.
Great vid. Love the coloring of your exhaust 👌
Thanks! 👍
I so prefer the dual clocks! Yup, I know what they are and wish I had one.
Wow that's one smart looking motorcycle. Where I'm at (Montreal, Canada) there's like three Guzzi dealers, one in the city and two more in nearby exurbs, but few seem to buy them so there's lots of good deals on old inventory V7 IIIs and Roamer/Bobber- as low as $6368 in American dollars- and I'm now seriously thinking about picking one up myself in the next year if circumstance allows.
hey man great stuff, please keep it up. So how is the seat comfort for the pillion?
Thank you, nice followup video with good information.
Glad that it was helpful.
Love my v7 classic and love the new 850! You’re absolutely right, there’s two types of people you’ll meet in the US when on a Guzzi. One is the person who never even heard of them. The other will go absolutely wild and beg to see your motorcycle
lol, exactly.
Hi!! i am from France, great video!!!! I ordered the same bike at the beginning of April and I will probably get in at the and of June :( I can't wait!!!
Holy crap, that wait will feel like forever. I am rendering a video right now of me out riding and answering one of the questions I got of why I chose the bike that I chose. Hopefully I will have it up here in a few hours
Wow ...what a BEAUTIFUL bike💝and BOB is looking good too😀
LoL, Thank you momma
im getting one of these , lovely looking bike 👍👍👍
Totally agree I just recently bought a 2020 V7 Stone S as my first street bike and absolutely love it. I heard someone once say "It's one of the coolest bikes you never see on the road." Which is so true.
Also do you what size wrench that is to adjust the preload on the springs? I'm trying to order one for my bike and have no clue as it's not in the manual anywhere.. lol Nice yours came with a tool kit!
agreed and congrats
it depends on the springs that are on your 2020 v7 stone, the ones on the 2021 are a beefier shock, i measured it with my calipers and it was around a 54 or 55 mm. i googled "moto guzzi preload adjuster wrench size" and found a whole bunch including adjustable ones on different sites. i would start there, hope that helps and safe rides buddy.
@@dreamreaver23 Thanks so much! I will take a look at getting one. I really wish my bike came with a nice little tool kit like that. Very cool.
Just bought a Centenario last Wednesday. Decided to go for it. Saw a couple of (already sold) Specials at the dealers and they looked terrific BTW. All V7 850’s were sold out. Gone.
Thank you for this follow-up vid!
Just fyi: in Europe, all models (Stone and Special) have led indicators, so yes there is a minor difference in lighting.
Nice Abarth ;)
Thanks for the info! and thanks lol
Nice job👍
Good informative videos , love the v7 Guzzi and very nearly brought one this ye
what made you decide not to get one this year?
@@dreamreaver23 Hi sorry about that I got cut off mid post and didn't think I'd actually posted my comment, yeah like I said I love the v7 and was looking at one the end of last year, being on a budget is was after a discounted one before the 2021 models arrived but couldn't find one, so looked at the street twin which was my second choice and also due an upgrade in 2021, I found one local to me and did the deal.
I love the Triumph but am still very interested in the Guzzi, one day maybe eh 😊
@@darrylwalford4441 i was seriously looking at the street twin or speed twin last year as well. they are solid bikes. Ride Happy buddy
You already are the leading Moto Guzzi channel on UA-cam! And whilst everyone's heard of them in Europe, they're seen as a left field choice & therefore not that common.
i went out yesterday and rode to get some more miles on the bike, but my mic was not recording on my go pro. but i did get confrimation of fuel mileage and when the fuel light comes on. i will post all that info in my next video. Cheers!
Just ordered exact same model/colour can't wait, great video
Congrats buddy, I hope that you enjoy every second of owning it. How long until you get it in?
@@dreamreaver23 the dealer said within 4 weeks, had my last bike stolen 2 weeks ago
Damn, that sucks about your last bike.

Any tips for installing the grip puppies? I bought a set. Even with soaping them up for lubrication, I could not get them to go on.
Thanks , my new 850 special should arrive in Australia next week 😃😃👍
That's awesome, you are gonna love it. did you go with the blue or the silver?
@@dreamreaver23 the blue one , as soon as I saw it in a magazine I had to have one , there isn’t any in OZ yet

I phoned up this morning and they (Peter Stevens Melb. Vic) said 2 'Blue' will be arriving in April. Cannot wait to see it!!
I want the Roamer, but it is NOT available in OZ. BUMMER.
Hi, how about the fueling on the V7 ? I heard that the fueling on low speed / low rpm riding feels on-off (not smooth).
I just went yesterday at dealership i just sit down on the same bike feel very light i tought was heavier but I felt lighter than my honda im guessing weight distribution........only the tires didn't me convince they don't use tubeless
Now we need more ride videos!
testing stuff right now
Ride video, provided
thanks1 lovely bike
I have the Mistral slip ons on my v7II,with the baffles in the bike sounds great and works just fine however without the baffles it sounds amazing! But it doesn't like it that much I can really notice it loses power so you definitely should get a tune...
Yeah, I've been chatting back and forth with David Berman from his channel, he just installed the mistral exhausts on his bike and noticed that there was a dropping horsepower in response. Mistral actually reached out to him and let him know that with the decibel killers out you need to do a remap of the ECU. I'll still do a video showing the difference in the levels and the sound and everything like that but will probably cruise with the baffles in. Thanks for the insight buddy.
Good work.
Thank you! Cheers!
If you look on the underside of the seat, there is a hex wrench to remove the right hand side cover.
yes, I just didn't take off the cover because, i didn't think that anyone wanted to see the battery, That's why I explained in the video of what was behind the panel and pointed to the hex nut to show how to get in there. If there are more questions that needs another video, i will try to remember to show the battery area, if you would like. sound good?
I really like the V7 Special and I'm in the market for a new bike. Some things that I don't like about the bike are the cable throttle (no cruise control) and the brown seat. I'm going back and forth between the V7 Special and the Triumph Street Twin for my next motorcycle. Thanks for posting the videos and sharing information about the bike.
i went back and forth between the 850 special and the speed twin, the thing that got me was the comfort of the seat, and the heat that came off engine, the triumphs are hot as hell, and the guzzi is nice and cool, i don't deal with any heat coming off of the engine on the guzzi. it's weird.
@@dreamreaver23 I think I've settled on the V7 Special. I'm waiting now for the 2023's to arrive. I may buy a 2022 but I want to be sure I don't miss anything new with a 2023. I subscribed so looking forward to more Guzzi content.
@@SPSteve i'm currently quarantining with covid with the family. so it's gonna be a couple of weeks for me to get back out there and ride some more. been missing it a lot over the past few weeks, between travel, work, and covid. but more content will be coming.
You are right about the cats just before the last part of the exhaust end can so once you change the exhausts you get rid of the cats so the bike sounds much better!
nice, thank you
Great videos, I appreciate the info you're passing along. It's shocking how useless the motorcycle press is, especially here in the US. Equally useless is when the manufacturers bring out UA-cam "influencers" for phony promotional test rides. One question I have, I heard somewhere that 6th gear is good for highway cruising, and brings the RPMs down to around 2000 to 3000 at 70mph. Can you confirm or deny that? Thanks, and keep up the great work!
Oh hi Mark, lol reference to "The Room", thank you so much for the kind words. I agree completely I actually have a little rant on it in my video that I will get up later this evening or first thing in the morning, with that video I was doing a ride just to get some miles on the bike and talking about why I chose the bike that I chose. On it though I am doing highway and interstate speeds here in Colorado so about 80 to 85 and I am in 6th gear. So you should be able to go through and see a reference on there.
I don't think that it's around 2,000 RPMs, but I can say that at around 70 mph it should keep it between 3,900 and 4,000 RPMs. So it is really comfortable in 6th gear on the highway.
Been following this bike for months. Its a beautiful piece of machinery. How is it on highway and is good for riding with 2 people. Good luck with your new bike
It is amazing on the highway, i have another video that i am doing highway riding on. handles the speed with ease, and handles the wind really well, i don't feel like i am getting blown off the bike on it, even at 90+ MPH ua-cam.com/video/4DoEV2Uxsw4/v-deo.html
Great video $9.00 a month is a crime for all the time it must take you to record such a great video. Can you suggest the best approach to negotiate with a dealer on a new V7 there are only two dealerships here in New York. Thank you for such an informative video.
Hey buddy, sorry for the delay in responding, I have a friend that works at a dealership, there's not a whole lot of wiggle room on new motorcycle pricing, so it is difficult to get a better price, on used they can wiggle all they want, but on new it's usually only a couple hundred dollars, if that much.
How would you say the gearbox is? Im considering buying the 850 or the V7 III. I've read the gearbox on the 850 is significantly better.
Are fork boots available?
Mama Mia, beautiful bike. Have to mention the Abarth in the background though. Have you done a review yet?
Q review of the abarth? Nope
Good job.
Thanks!
Awesome bike. I am thinking of getting one myself. At my nearest dealer, if I put a deposit down they could have one here in a month or two. One thing I notice though, the switchgear looks like the exact same switchgear from my 2002 Suzuki GZ250. I think that part was borrowed from Suzuki.
they are awesome bikes. as for the switch gear, always a possibility i guess.
Dude your videos are great, I would really love to have the 0/100 kmh acceleration test and max speed. Would you? It looks impossible to find this data online.
Will try to get one this weekend
It’s quite normal on Guzzis to have an ‘H’ piece for the crossover with 2 clamps to the Downpipes and 2 to the silencers (mufflers for those across the pond) . Surely the viewer asking about heated grips would be better advised to instal bark busters. That V7 looks gorgeous. I still have an ‘85 Le Mans 1000. The V7 may no longer be considered a super bike but those engines last forever and are so easy to work on if you ever need to.
good info, thank you.
Great video thank you.Are the brakes up to it?
You're welcome, yes the brakes feel really good, I have tried some aggressive braking to test them, and they stop very quickly. I haven't activated the abs yet, but will do that once I get my first service completed.
GReat vid..! 2 questions
1 hows is the vibration at speeds 80 and higher ?
2 what about the heat coming from the engine ? thx
i have my newest video with me traveling hwy speeds of 85 and 90. so you can see it, but the bike feels really smooth, i don't notice any heavy vibration from the bike and any of the speed range really, that could just be me through. At lower speeds, there is the engine vibration, but i wouldn't say it's ever too strong, it's just enough to let you know it's there.
So far the heat from the engine hasn't been noticeable, I find the heat from the outside temp, the sun and weather, is more noticeable to me than anything else.
@@dreamreaver23 What is the daytime ambient temperature at your place. I am from India and engine heat could be an issue here as the cylinder heads are closer to riders knees due to design.
During summer riding months, it is generally around 96 to 98 f or around 36.8 celcius
Hello just purchased a 2021V7 850 special; ordered Mistral ; just curious if grip puppies make the grip diameter too large for medium size hands Thanks John
Awesome buddy, I don't think the grip puppies would make the grip diameter too large. I have medium size hands myself and really enjoy the grips better with the grip puppies on. They also reduce some vibration from going to the hands
Thanks for your reviews. A quick question......do the spoked wheels run tubed or tubeless tyres? (My V Strom has spoked wheels but still runs on tubeless tyres)
they are tubed tyres on the guzzi v7 850 special
"What's a Moto Guzzi?" In Germany it is the same. The young boys do not know what Guzzi is. In general Guzzi has the reputation of a hoary racing legend and Guzzis are rare here, too. Therefore Guzzi names its small bike "v7" today and not "Breva" anymore. It is a question of heritage of the V-Series (v7 and v11). As I bought my v7, I had to chose between BMW RnineT, Guzzi v7 special and Harley Davidson Sportster. All the rest of classic bikes like Triumph were out of my mind because of the chain drive instead of shaft or belt drive. I have tried all three. As I rode the same slalom I had to make to pass the examination for drivers/riders licence, the Harley scraped on the road by its foot rests. The BMW scraped on the road by its cylinder heads. Guzzi made it.
Here you can see the Slalom every student rider has to pass: ua-cam.com/video/fKI_5A79QK4/v-deo.html
As I made it the first time by my Guzzi to the local biker cafe, there were dozens of BMWs and Harleys in front of the cafe and one Guzzi, mine. As I relaxed on the terrace of the cafe, I saw about 15-20 biker standing all around my v7. And the only thing I customized the v7 was by adding a main stand for easier maintenance.
Looking to purchase one how's the maintenance on them. Closest dealer is roughly 200 miles away.
Thanks
How's it going buddy, i haven't done any of my own maintenance yet, i paid for the first 6 of them through my dealership, but from what i've seen online the maint. is relatively easy, checking the valve clearance is super easy since the engine is turned 90 degrees. no chain to lubricate and tighten, just checking the fluids. and if i am not mistaken, i'll need to look at the manual, i believe the oil changes are every 6000 miles.
It looks like the starter motor is underneath right in line of road splash. Is that right? I live in Scotland where is is wet and a lot of salt is used in winter, and I don't like the sound of that.
i'll have to check that out and see. i'll let you know what i find out.
Can you attach panniers to the rail that come with the bike or do you have to buy separately?
Thank you
Hmm, not sure. I haven't really seen anything on that yet
Is there good leg room for riders of 6 ft or more- just worried the position of the pots, being a transverse V twin, may limit leg room?
It shouldn't do anything to limit leg room, however, I would do a test ride just to see how it fits you.
How is low speed on and off throttle? Does it lurch in traffic...say during stop and go rush hour on I-25? Any detonation in low speed roll-on? I’ve heard the Euro 5 compliant bikes are painfully lean. I hope that’s not the case since I already bought a 2021 V85, and just waiting on delivery.
I’m glad I “discovered” your channel. The first two Moto Guzzi videos I’ve viewed are outstanding!
I will do a video soon in a parking lot showing off different riding speeds, I know one of the biggest things that i've seen from other reviewers vs past v7s, is that the clutch is lighter and has a longer throw, which helps with the lurching at low speeds, as the clutch doesn't just pop like it used to. I can say that i've spent about an hour in I25 Denver traffic where it was move 5 ft and stop. and during that, i had no problems with jerking, or lurching, it is nice and smooth. i hope that answers your question I will try to shoot some parking lot video tomorrow and get it edited and up by this weekend.

Great video! Does your V7 850 have any tach lag? At what indicated RPM does the rev limiter engage in first gear? On my 2017 V7III Special, it begins bouncing off the limiter at around 5800 rpm in first; my tach lags. In second it's about 5900, in third about 6100. I had the dealer troubleshoot it and I had the tach replaced under warranty early on because it broke loose and would occasionally stop in erroneous positions when the motorcycle was shut off, but that didn't change the operation. Also, I have a pair of heated Koso Apolo grips on my V7III, and did not have to change any other part of the electrical system as the alternator makes more than enough power to support the heated grips with stock lighting. I have ridden over 2 years and 16,000 miles with this configuration. I have added 2,000 more miles with an LED headlight bulb, and it hasn't resulted in any electrical issues, but it isn't necessary to support heated grips, and I'd assume the V7 850 is the same unless the alternator has been derated.
All good info, I haven't had any problems with lag on the tachometer, as for the rev limiters mine is right around 7200 RPMs and every gear. Great info about the heated grips and everything. I don't think that they derated the alternator
Hi, have you had any issues with the orange warning light coming on ?
No, can't say that I have had the orange warning light come on for any reason.
I'm looking very hard at the T100 Triumph and the Guzzi V7 Special. I'm really big on the shaft drive, but MY question is.....is there enough room fore and aft on the V7 saddle for two full-sized American adults without the rider being scrunched up against the fuel tank?
Lol, I guess that depends on what your definition of " full-sized " is. My wife has sat on the back of mine and she was comfortable, and I was comfortable as well
@@dreamreaver23 Thanks, mate. You really have got a nice bike.
Hi! Nice video. As owner of a grey one, just a couple of comments:
1- cruise control is very difficult and expensive to instal, being the bike w/o ride by wire (big difference vs the V85 TT)
2- the power chart you showed is coming from the Mistral Special Parts website and refers to the increase in power with their aftermarket exhaust chart. The bike has a much more significant increase in HO vs the previous gen (by actually 25%)
thank you Lorenzo, Yeah my buddy and i were talking about that last night. He was mentioning a throttle lock if i wanted to rest my throttle hand on long rides, I don't know how I feel about those though. They seem unsafe, will have to do some more research. and yes, the chart was from mistral exhaust, I have one on order and hopefully it will be in within a couple of weeks. When it does i will do a comparison with a sound meter for stock, mistral with DB killer in, and Mistral with DB Killer Out.
How is it with 2 up? I m not looking to do any highway stuff 2 up just weekend trips 2 up on back roads. Also whats the max weight rating? Can't get enough of Moto Guzzi! Thanks for the video and enjoy that new bike!
Still haven't tested 2 up, wife has been busy with school work, and work
I believe the stock load rating on the Centennario model is 944 pounds.
@@colbrt Thank you sir!
I have two questions, one, the oil filter, is it a cartridge type and do you still have to remove the entire oil pan like the older Guzzis? Second question, How is it riding two up? My wife and I are fairly small people, and always ride double up. Is there enough room on the seat for comfortable two up riding? How is the foot position for the passenger? Are the passenger's feet too high or too far back to be comfortable for a long ride? When I say long ride, I mean 300 miles or so, this is our average daily ride.
hmmmmmmm,
well i haven't done the oil change on the bike yet, i have the first 6 free at the dealership, so they will be doing those for the forseeable future. lol. as for the riding double up, my wife has been on the back of my bike but it wasn't for more than 30 minutes, she had no problems on the back, i'm 5'9"-5'10" and she is 5'3"ish, and we are both a little on the heavier side, covid exercise routine, lol. as for 300 miles a day, that i don't know about. wish i could be of more help.
Hello from England I think the US version has a bigger back light than the euro version. What do you think?
It is a bigger back light, but i don't mind it. anything that makes it more likely for people to see me is a good thing. lol
Good information, I bought one and just love to ride it, still need to change some of the gauge settings. My question is , Can this info be found in owners manual ?
thank you, the info you seek starts at page 70 and goes through page 77 in the owner's manual, for the 850 series at least. And the MGCT stuff starts at page 104. ride safe.

@@mrsilbo6499 that's weird, you figure that they would know which one has which. lol
@@dreamreaver23 Guzzi do, obviously, but the marketing wonks are probably just copy writers, not motorcycling enthusiasts!
I gest drove one recently, it had terrible fueling issues between 3-4000 rpms, plus it was a boring bike. Bought a 2014 Thruxton instead!
the thruxton is a great looking bike also, buddy of mine has one of those in his garage. the fueling issues were taken care of with an ecu reflash from the dealership last year. as for boring... 2 wheels is always fun, great solid power delivery, great range, great comfort, fun and gorgeous, easy maintenance. I can agree that it's not eveyones cup of tea, but if your on two wheels, your gonna have a good time. different strokes for different folks i guess. Enjoy your thruxton buddy
In Europe the back light is much smaller.
Yeah i have heard that. i assume people in Europe pay more attention while driving. lololololol

It says push on there, but you don't have to. I just turn the key counterclockwise

Hi dreamreaver23 - so, I noticed a post on the FB forum today mentioning that under hard braking a few people have dropped the bike coming up to lights. It might be inexperience, or something worse. What are your thoughts and experiences?
i know that on older bikes, and some newer ones without ABS, it can be easy to lock up the tires under hard braking. I myself started on an '81 Honda CB 750C, which had no ABS, so a big part of my practicing on the bike was to go into a big parking lot and work on hard braking, like really hard braking (50 - 60 mph to 0 as quickly as possible), and lock the tires to get used to releasing and re-applying the brakes to stop the lockup. I practiced it so that it would become instinct. Fortunately, i never had to use it while riding on the road on my CB 750C, but i did have to use it a couple of times on my wife's 2019 Honda Rebel 500. It also does not have ABS, and one time coming off of an interstate exit, a guy just decided to randomly come to a full stop on a down hill slope. thank god i practiced it so much, or it could have been bad, but i was able to keep the bike vertical and avoid hitting the truck.
As for whether it is inexperience or something worse. i would say that inexperience is a big part of it. Most folks will learn the basics, either at home or an msf course, and then get on their bikes and ride, yet they forget that key part of the msf training, Keep your Skills Sharp, Practice, Practice, Practice. i don't care if you've been riding 6 weeks, 6 years, or 16 years, go to a parking lot and practice hard braking, evasive maneuvers, slow turns. all of the basics. and when you think you are good and don't have to practice anymore, slap yourself and continue to practice. I still go out to a parking lot every 2 or 3 weeks and work on braking, slow turns, and evasive maneuvers. because someday it will hopefully save my life when someone around me starts acting dumb.
Thanks for the great question David. What are your thoughts on the subject?
@@dreamreaver23 Thanks mate. Totally agree. I do the drills ASAP on any new bike. Even with ABS, I still practice progressive hard breaking out of habit. Many thanks for the feedback. Mine arrives in two weeks, so getting excited now. Cheers.
Don't know why MG is so scared to install cruise for the American market where we have real highways. They never installed one on the Norge either and that's why I didn't buy one.....MG's loss. Sweet Ride...

Crues control? 😂no sir you have to ride the bike u self and enjoy ❤
lol
Go buy your exhaust now, you can afford it, I want you to buy today.
Lol, well technically I bought it last week, I'm just waiting for them to get it sent out. being that the bike is so new they are trying to get caught up with manufacturing it and getting it sent. Hopefully it will be in within a few weeks
My question ... why do all Americans say " RPM's " ? ... its Rev's per Minute , not Rev's per Minute's ! : )
Lol, I guess because RsPM sounds weird and while RPM is correct all of us have always just heard whoever the original dummy saying RPMs and kept saying it lol.
@@dreamreaver23 LOL yes , its just I hear it so often and it drives me mad !!
RPM, never RPM's, nor rev's nor minute's.

I note that you didn't type "American's".
