I saw it when you put your hand to your face at the beginning, a protective move. I saw the anxiety in your face. I’ve been there so many times! Thank you so much for showing us how quickly our brains can “come to the rescue” when we aren’t expecting it and how we have to tell our brains we are okay. Our brains are the ultimate “momma bear” :) Thank you for including it. God bless you!

Fear is a Spirit....it says in the Bible..there is nothing to fear but fear itself...I realized through your podcasts I needed to Stop fearing...and it worked...the pain has stopped...Praise God

Thankyou for sharing this. And Thankyou so much for not editing out the tms symptom - although I felt compassion for you in the moment, it was so helpful to see tms playing out. It helped a lightbulb go off for me.
I have been doing so well and then recently being faced with a new job opportunity and lots of changes I had a big “relapse” of symptoms. I now know it was just the fear.

Before I even begin watching this….what you share about your symptoms showing up as you talk, your vulnerability in choosing to air it, un-edited is already encouraging me with my fears about talking/ministry stuff I’m doing and about to do. ❤

You are so right about going to God with our desperation....His word says by His stripes we are healed...we have to stand in that....took me 70 years with your ĥelp I am able to do that now

Yes we can reverse our pain and symptoms! There were so many times when my voice felt fine and then I find myself in a social situation where I am feeling awkward or out of sorts or feeling less than or feeling shame at some level and all of sudden my voice is instantly hoarse. Frustrating. But freedom is coming!

Marci , when you say the pain moved , do you mean you experienced the “Symptom Imperative” ?? Have you read Dr Sarno books???

I can’t speak for her, but I’m 99% sure that she would say yes regarding the symptom imperative.

So @thought by thought healing, when your throat closed up you said you knew it was because you didn’t like your intro. Does that mean you had a physiological response to your inner critic? Just trying to put my pieces together. I struggle mainly with chronic (for now) dizziness. I have had a lot of fear in my life, hate uncertainty, have a tough inner critic and tend to worry about what others think. Lots of channels talk about the fear of the symptoms keep them coming but I want to understand how fear may get them started in the first place.

Yes yes. Inner critic is one of the top 4 reasons people have symptoms in my opinion. Same with fear uncertainty. It’s way up there too.

What did you mean by you had to start with your body as opposed to just cognitively telling yourself you are ok? Around the 41 min mark

I meant relaxing my muscles, releasing stress from my stomach, breathing, lowering my shoulders, assuming an assured posture, etc

Just an added note on this, based on my experience. Learning to recognize little symptoms in my body has been huge for me to notice first, because often I don’t even realize I’m thinking or feeling some stress until I realize I’m tightening my stomach, or pursing my eyebrows, avoiding eye contact, suddenly sighing like crazy…etc. When I first catch the symptom-then often I can backtrack and find my stressor, then do additional Cognitive work.
