Hi Beth. Wow, I'm really enjoying this series. I had to go back and watch all of the 2023 episodes. I wanted to comment on "the really cool time stamp thing" inside Clockwork Conspiracy, the Sam Sedgman book. I am very familiar with those stamps from way back in time when I was a secretary and people sent typed correspondence in the mail because there was no other way really to communicate in the '70s. (Yes, we had phones and messenger services for priority mail.) We had adjustable date stamps with "RECEIVED" on them. You would spin the wheels to the appropriate month, day and year, and stamp all of that day's mail with the envelope attached. What a trip. And yes, it was a big deal when you spun the wheel for a new year.
I adore Suddenly! I go with my mum at least once a month, and I'm always looking forward to our next chance to visit. It's one of the few places I buy new rather than second-hand; the environment is just so lovely and there's such a sense of community.
I just bought Road Life today after watching you talk about it!! I would love to renovate a van when I'm older and travel the world!! It sounds like an incredible book 💓💓
I am so happy you showed The Weavers of Amaxa. I was really intrigued by The Daughters of Izdihar after your review but forgot to write it down or add it to my Waterstones wishlist. I have now added it because I have not stopped looking at book titles hoping it will jog my memory xx
I want to nominate Schrodingers (Petone) & Unity (city) - Wellington if you ever travel to the other side of the world lol🌏 - actually there are so many beautiful bookshops here in Aotearoa💚
If a bookstore ever gave me a bottle of Prosecco, I would be there every day
Right?! 😂
This video, the editing, the vibes, are all immaculate
