Nice video Mark, interesting to hear there may be some nice roach in there. Fished there( other side) couple of Saturdays ago but no Roach showed surprisingly
It's a water where many different approaches produce different catches. I'm a roach specialist and have fished there since 1970 so have discovered ways to catch the roach. They certainly don't like disturbance and tend to be close in. I use very fine gear in winter for the roach.
@@MarkWintleFishing It is a really nice place to fish. I expect I will be fishing there now mostly untill June. Thanks for sending the book by the way, really enjoyed reading it. Great book.
Interesting video Mark. I have only fished that venue in summer. If you were to fish it in winter, when the temperature is only just above freezing, might that select for the bigger roach? That tactic has worked for me on RDAA'S Avon Tyrrell lake, using maggots fished on the helicopter rig.
It's not a place I'd want to spend a long cold session fishing with a static method. There seems to be an element of pot luck in finding the pound-plus roach. Mostly they're quite close in so a very quiet approach works.
