Hahaha the Cabrera strikeout had me rolling. You have to give the umpire credit. He was consistent. The ball was essentially in the same spot on both pitches. Looks like Cabrera was looking for a walk.
Matt Williams literally asked Carapazza to throw him out. He said “You have got to throw me out of this fucking game right now”. Vic said “You sure?” He said yes, so he booted him XD
0:03 I'm pretty sure that was Alex Cora's 2nd and final ejection on the entire season. 2 in a season of 162 games + 15ish more games during the world series victory run, pretty impressive how much patience that must take
Bobby Cox was the best player's manager. He always stood up for his players. He was also correct on both the plays he argued about in this clip. (the 96 WS clip still hurts)
MY TOP 10 MLB Postseason Ejections: 10. Jay Howell- Pine Tar Glove (1988 NLCS) 9. Bobby Cox (1996 World Series) 8. Earl Weaver (1969 World Series) 7. Roger Clemens (1990 ALCS) 6. Mike Hargrove/Dwight Gooden (1998 ALDS) 5. Billy Martin (1976 World Series) 4. Davy Martinez (2019 World Series) 3. Bobby Cox (1992 World Series) 2. Asdrubal Cabrera (2014 NLDS) 1. Both pitches to Cabrera were strikes. Grissom was safe but it wasn't as obvious as the announcers made it out to be. Only mistake by umpire is that he likely thought he saw a swipe tag a bit sooner up around the arm when it actually just missed.
How was the Braves robbed, when they blew a 2-0 games lead to the Yankees? They really should have won the series going away. I'm a Yankees fan and we got lucky in that series.

I'm a Braves fan and I will even say that my team are the kings of the choke. Cox was the best REGULAR SEASON manager with 14 straight division titles with only one WS TITLE to show for.
I'll never forget the bad call on the ball Mauer hit in Game 2 of 2009 ALDS. Cuzzi called that ball foul despite touching a glove in fair territory & landing in fair territory as well.
Jim Edmonds definitely was NOT wrong (nor was Thom Brennaman) ... and I despise the Cardinals pretty fluidly. unless Jim said some magic words, you can NOT run him in a postseason game. especially when you MISS the call to begin with. and that was a CLEAR .... MISS, whether it's for the pitch being in the zone, or for the supposed check swing (which I'm SURE was Jim's first question).
I am a Mets fan, so how is Cookie Rojas' meltdown in 1999 not on here, as well as Yogi Berra in Game 2 of 1973 and Earl Weaver being pissed in Game 3 I believe of the 1969 World Series
Jay Desrochers What do you mean? I’ve been watching baseball games for over 30 years. I love baseball, baseball history, and watching a game any chance I can. It’s the greatest game in the world, and I can’t get enough of it.
Whoever played the music at Shea Stadium made interesting choices. "I Go to Pieces" by Peter & Gordon is a good song, but it doesn't seem suited for a ballpark. I also remember hearing "Do You Want to Know a Secret" by the Beatles and "That Thing You Do!" by The Wonders back in the '90s while new pitchers were warming up on the mound. Great songs, but odd selections for the setting. Oh well. Better than the crap they play nowadays.
There was an incident within the last 2 years (May have been last year) when the Dodgers were routing the Phillies when Justin Turner got hit with a curveball. The pitcher got tossed and even the Dodger players were saying the hit by pitch was not intentional
Yes, anyone can get kicked out of a post-season ball game, in any inning. If the player is that important to the team, then then he should vent in the dugout or the clubhouse, and leave the arguing to the manager.
This is just petty ignorance right here. There are plenty of good, consistent umpires in the league. You just never hear about them because they don't mess up.
Cabrera looks like an idiot there. He wanted NO part in getting a big hit and was begging for a walk on two pitches that weren’t even out of the zone. Swing the bat.
Vic Carapazza should not be umpiring MLB games....he DEFINITELY should not be umpiring MLB playoff games....he ABSOLUTELY, POSITIVELY, UNEQUIVOCALLY should not be behind the plate for an MLB playoff game....
Gotta love the partisan commentators on the Edmonds ejection. Freeze frame at 1:22 as the ball goes over the plate it's over the inside edge and at waist height, can't ask for a clearer strike, but the commentators go on about you can't eject a batter in the post season and it being a bad pitch in their minds - makes you wonder what they call a good pitch.
Try 0:22 a much better angle, the ball is clearly high and inside and not a strike. If normal speed is too fast for you to be able to tell slow it down to 0.25x speed and watch it. I'm sure you'll come to the conclusion that it's a ball. If not, well then you're more blind than the ump.
@@FarmerFigs You're wrong. I know you're making your judgement based on the look of the camera at the 0:22 mark, but that camera is about 10 or 15 degrees to the right of the pitcher and thus it has an angled view that distorts the relative locations of the ball and the plate while the 1:22 camera is directly behind and slightly above the pitcher to show the line taken is further to the right than it seems in the 0:22 camera view. Thus the second camera is a much more reliable and accurate view of the pitch. In it the pitcher and the plate are in direct line up the middle of the screen while the first camera has the pitcher throwing from the left of the center line to a plate to the right of a center line to give a distorted view.
He made the single greatest catch by a centerfielder that I've ever seen, and I got to see Andruw Jones play day after day. Might not be a HOF'er, but that was definitely a HOF catch.

Nah the 3rd called strike was too high
I love that you included Bobby Cox. #ChopOn
this didn't age well
Braves were robbed in 96. Grissom was safe by a mile. Bobby had legit beef there.
totally agree here, and the Yankees were also gifted by the umps in the ALCS to even get to the world series
Yankees wouldn't even been in the WS that year if it weren't for the umpires in the LCS vs the Orioles
The shit Yankees always get the calls.
As a yankee fan I will agree. Grissom was definitely safe

A video idea: When player/manager is ejected over a call the umpire got right.
Umpire in the Nats game makes my fucking blood boil for calling a retribution strike, umps need to start getting fired for that shit.
You should do World Series ejections

can you do nba playoff ejections?
Is there a ever a scenario where both teams managers/coaches get in an umpires face on a given call?
At the same time? Because it happens all the time when a call is overturned without replay and sometimes even with replay.
John Herrera it happens occasionally with warnings

It's a huge disadvantage to lose your manager in the playoffs. I've always thought that you should not argue at all. Can't lose your manager
Worse to lose the players. The managers argue so the players don't.
