There's not enough words to say how happy I am that Stuart's back!! Sweet plane and Always a great review...and hopefully lots more to come!! Happy flying
Gents thank you. Guys if you want to see a great unboxing and maiden of the Stearman check out Petrincic Bros RC channel for these. Thanks guys for your support. Stuart
Nobody does it like Stuart. I have a few Giant Scale 12s and 12s 2P planes and strangely enough my interests lately are turning back towards 6s planes and this one looks like a winner.
Hi thank you, actually this was product I was only involved in at the very end, all credit goes to the team in HK for this wonderful looking model. Stuart.
@@HobbyKingOfficial Ok Stuart, I'm glad to know that the HK team is keeping up interest in this type of product, it's a piece of fine craftsmanship and art. Congrats again!
HobbyKing needs te bring more balsa planes on the market because that is what the most RC lovers want most. I love HobbyKing and all they do. Balsa that's the best!
Nice to see you back Stuart. Ok I've always loved the looks of the biplane with the rigging wires but have hated installing them. Using elastic is absolutely brilliant! Thanks for the tip Stuart. Great video too.
I want one BUT if I got it I’d repaint it to look like the Super Stearman E75N1from the movie by Disney, The Blue Yonder. Loved that movie growing up. Must have this!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks good, but I'm wary of the spare parts issue. I have been waiting over a year for replacement landing gear for a Durafly Slowpoke (have long since made my own). The blue version of this model is still available, but the landing gear isn't.
Thank you Mr. Stuart, I think a very good presentation of the model. You can see the strengths and weaknesses well, well done! I hope to find more such models at HK again! Unfortunately, I was too late to order the Kingcraft Pitts Special S-2B 1200mm (47 ") ARF (Red). With a few exceptions, I like to fly the models that HK sells. I'm flying off the grass runway. The foam models from HK, which I love to fly, are more or less the following in the sequence: Durafly ™ Messerschmitt Bf.109E-4 desert scheme 1100 mm, H-King Voltigeur MkII 3D EPO aerobatic plane 1220 mm, Durafly EFXtra Racer (PNF) High performance sports model 975 mm, Durafly Brewster F2A Buffalo 920 mm, Durafly DH100 Vampire (PNF) 70 mm EDF Jet 1100 mm and Avios C-130 Hercules (PNF) Military Gray EPO 1600 mm and others. And the wooden models from HK: VQ - H-King Tiger Moth ARF 1400 mm, VQ SBD-5 DAUNTLESS 1540 mm, Fokker E.III Monoplane WW1 Fighter Laser-cut Balsakit 1520 mm, S19 Mini Tiger Moth Balsa Wood 980 mm Kit, Sopwith Camel WW1 Fighter Laser Cut Balsa Kit and Fokker Dr.I 770mm Laser Cut Balsa Model Kit and others.
@@HobbyKingOfficial Thank you! After 50 years of model making, I've flown a lot of models. As a customer, I am happy to give you information about the models that interest me. Before, they couldn't be big and fast enough; today I like it more convenient to have scale models around 1200/1400 mm ready to fly for transport in the trunk or up to max. 2000 mm and all-rounder glider models 1500 mm to 4800 mm. As well as an occasional FPV flight.
@@HobbyKingOfficial sorry that you guys are getting grief from the FCC. Hang in there, we need you guys around. I still need to get the grand tundra so I have all 3.
Welcome back Stuart! I have always enjoyed your videos. Perhaps this signals the resurrection of HK after being in the wilderness for the last few years. 😀
This model is very nice and very cool with the brushless power. Please, could you show us how to assemble and disassemble this model on the field ? Because there are modelers driving a small car.
Thank you. We will show this in our following video coming before the end of the week that shows the model how it comes out of the box and some comments on how it goes together. Stuart.
The only thing that bugs me is the landing gear!! It's just too short, and the geometry is just not right, otherwise it's very nice looking, and I congratulate the manufacture for bringing out a scale balsa, ply and composite model. Great job guys!!!!!!
Stuart!!!! I don't care about HobbyKing but having you back is a big thing. lol where did you go and why it takes so long for you to come back lol. everyone feels the same great to see Stuart back. lol
Brilliant thanks hk you made it possible for me to get into this great hobby another superb quality plane. I wish you all the best from England stay safe and keep up the good work 💖👍😁🛩️🔥🔥🇬🇧
WOW!!!! This is a beautiful bird! I'm CRAZY about Biplanes! History at it's best! Thanks for the video, it's awesome and this will definitely be in the budget. I hope it doesn't sell out before I get one but then again, divorce may not be that bad! :) :)
@@HobbyKingOfficial my bad,,sorry.. what I mean is if the CG is obtained with the recommended items,,motor, lipo etc.. the Pitts was way off and we had to add 100+ grams in the nose area.
i like this plane a lot, but well im not good enough yet too fly balsa, i really would like too see this model and size for avios in foam...and its great too see Stuart again doing these videos!
When I started my hobby there were no ARF models and of course no foam. When it comes to aviation, I don't see any serious difference. If you can fly such a model made of foam, then you can also use wood. Models made of wood can get by with less weight, which favors slow flying. On the other hand, wood "lives" and may have to be reset on the transmitter depending on the humidity - but that can not be a problem. Both break during transportation or landing and admittedly, wood repairing is usually more time consuming and difficult. Sincerely yours. By the way, I think Mr. Stuart gave a very good presentation of the model and you can see the strengths and weaknesses well.

Any thoughts on doing this plane in a different scheme?

What a beautiful model, what size of Nitro would you recommend for this?
60-90 4 stroke would be great, you'd just need to mod the firewall to fit etc. Stuart
@@HobbyKingOfficial Thanks Stuart, great flight review as always
Is this one going to have a good CG when manual is followed (2.9kg)?
As we all know, the HK Pitts was a disaster in that regard.
Stick with the CG as I show in the video and you should be fine. Stuart

Because its based on the scheme of the full sized 'BIG RED' Super Stearman in the US, as this is a scale model. Stuart

It is beautiful but a little too similar to the red Pitts.
Thanks for the feedback!
It looks absolutely wonderful. Shame about the noise it makes (or doesn't)! ;-)
Sorry!
@@HobbyKingOfficial There is mention of a 4 stroke (eventually) on the Petrincic Bros RC channel :-)
That joystick latch mechanism is pretty clever. But what if you're too fat to get your finger in there?
Use a kebab stick :p
It is a pitty, that Hobbyking obviously due to horrible top management almost dissapeared from the market. R.I.P. Hobbyking.
brushless power is great but nothing replaces the smell of nitro fuel
It's great to see Stuart back at HK
