I remember lots of those gone by trucking outfits, I always felt bad for those guys driving single cab. I would never drive a truck like that! I often took family members, along for company. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Some of the best KWs I’ve seen! 🥰 Love those old rigs! Most of those companies are gone now. That was a good North American rig as well...my dad was an agent for them back in the day...Porter’s Transfer in Huntington, WV.
Wonderful looking rigs! 🤩 I saw many of these growing up in WV...cabovers ruled the road back then. I even saw a few drom boxes on rigs.😳 What a walk down memory lane...shame I didn’t get to drive many of the old trucks. My dad even had a 60s K100 that burnt up after it caught fire out on the road. I was a sad 4 year old when that happened.😩 My Dad was an agent for North American Van Lines back in the 40-50s.
The twin steer PIE rig w/ drom box was special. This had the Cummins diesel laying on its side like Crown Coaches had, called pancake engines. I think some of the half cabs were made w/ 'cavelike' sleepers, jutting out the side of the cab.
5:10: One of the old dual-steer PIE dromedaries they used to run from LA to Denver. My Godfather used to drive these over the Rockies from the Denver terminal, and he'd rendezvous with a California driver somewhere in Utah, switch trucks, and head back to Denver. From there, freight was unloaded from the drom-box, and freight heading east was carried by single trailers pulled by a long-nosed White day-cab. It took 3 Whites to pull the freight from 2 of these dual-steer KW's....
I worked as a janitor for Viking freight , there now Fed Ex,and Con Way is now under a new name X.O logistics I think . Both firms truck for our Company the Bierson Corporation.
There are a few around. One I know for sure that I’ve seen a couple of times at the local ATHS Show in Plymouth, CA., but have seen pics of one or two others around.
O.K., the music isn't the draw here, like the Earnhart fan says,"turn it down(or turn up your own music)",and just enjoy the pics! I like the photos....thumbs up!
Volvo is king of the road! I unfortunately went from a Volvo to a brand new Kenworth a few months ago. The KW is an absolute piece of trash in every way. Paccar is a rotten company.

Classic trucks, classic music, classic times.

I think the music and the trucks both represent great art in different forms, that might be the point.
KW is the best on the road love the old cabovers
Music went great with these old pictures. Loved it.

Oh how the trucks have changed! Love those cabovers! 🥰 Those KW half cabs were really unique...I’ve never seen one at any truck shows. Do any exist?
Porter Pp
P Productions I was wondering the same.

Who put that peterbilt 352 in there, HEY
Some very unusual pictures in this video
Great old trucks and flags!
Were the old ones better than the new ones? My assigned '19 T680 is the biggest hunk of junk I've ever driven. Absolutely horrible.
7:20: A bull-nose pulling a trashcan!!!
KW and peterbilt are made by the same corporation Paccar as was Kelvinator
My first name is Kelvin
And my dad said he got it from there stuff
How do you do a pictorial history of Kenworth trucks and not include Monfort of Colorado?
Easy
Minut 2:20 I love the truck whit tanker of fuel❤❤ What year is that truck?
I believe that is an acid tank. The truck is early-to-mid 50’s.
Why are so many photos cut off at the bottom???? Ruined!!!!
I love seein those old trucks, but what's with this classical music crap, let's get some Merle Haggard up in here!
Get over it! True, Merle is a bit more aligned with truckin', but a few minutes of Mozart isn't going to kill you.
заебца)))
2:02: Ah, yes, an old "side-saddle" or "half-cab" KW. The UGLIEST American truck, ever....
And still making the ugliest trucks. I haulded a load of kenworth drive axles imported from mexico with an american built Volvo :/
Nothing, absolutely NOTHING uglier than a Volvo Road Commode. And they smell just as bad.
Not as ugly as your face ohhhhhhh lol

you just told us everything you know about trucks.....nothing
Willis Shaw and CR England were big time in those days. CR is a joke today.
