For me personally, what’s holding me back from redoing my kitchen isn’t just the cost of the cabinets. It’s finding a reputable contractor who is going to charge thousands for the demo and installation of the new cabinets plus the cost of the new countertop and backsplash plus finding someone to cut and polish the new countertop. My kitchen is fairly small so while cabinets may be $3K/$4K by the time it’s all said and done it would cost $20K/$25K which I just can’t afford.
