Brand new to unholy, watching your build, and says keep plaguebringer up and spam death coil. I don't get enough runic power to just spam death coil. And are you not using festering at all? I'm only like 400 ilvl so maybe its stats but got any ideas for someone who can't just spam death coils?
When you are in single target fighting a boss, there are times where you use festering strike as you run out of runic power, so short answer, yes you will use festering strike in single target, and to a very limited degree in AoE. But in AoE scenarios you almost never run out of runic power to spam epidemics, as when you get low, you just SS in your defile and popping all those wounds generates more runic power for you to dump into epidemic.

Ultimately you should make the videos you feel comfortable with but since you asked my opinion here is what I would suggest: Get standardized layout and apply it to all dungeon guides, meaning: All videos are x minutes long (The shorter the better) people looking for these videos probably need as much info as fast as possible because they probably are about to go in. To achieve this and make editing easier you should define a set on concepts to cover that apply to all future videos, for example: Part 1 - Intro 30 secs info about the instance/loot to look out for and how to get there - Notable mobs/groups before first boss ( things to avoid, kick, etc) you can even get the character models form Wowhead and edit them in with some text - Worthwhile skips - 1st boss mechanics and DK specific tips / tricks. Part 2, 3,4… - Notable mobs/groups leading to second boss (things to avoid, kick, etc.) -Same as part 1 Right now your audience is limited to DPS Dk’s but if you can throw in some tank tactics too this will get more people to watch. Either way, the first guide is great and gets the job done, I’m just projecting what I think would help the channel explode! Keep it up, and know that we appreciate your effort in making these.

I may switch to that format for these initial dungeon guides so people can get their quick tips/tricks in general with some DK pointers. Then later on drop longer full run guides like in the format of that first guide I released where I can go in depth on every pull/pack and get into the nitty gritty if people are interested. I agree that I think the more general quick guides will help the channel grow more. There's just so much info I want to get out!
Great video. Tiny nitpick on the rotation: doesn’t it make more sense to press UB or outbreak before you apply plaguebringer? PB does nothing if you have no disease up.
So you certainly could, but here’s my thinking. Assuming you are pressing Defile and SS as you run in, you then have up to 5 globals to press for the rest of your setup before you get into your “maintenance” rotation on any given pack. I like to get PB running immediately then the next global applies plagues, and you can then go into the rest of your opener without having to worry about a naked scrounge strike. You can get you DT rolling for some extra haste and damage if you have the talent, followed up by UA for more haste to get DOTs to tick more, followed by everything else and by the time you finish your setups you’ll be about ready to hit another SS to get PB up again followed by Defile and what not. It just feels more fluid for me to press it while I run in and then have an uninterrupted opener/setup. But that’s just my thinking :) I don’t think there’s necessarily a wrong answer here

Yes, you always pop UB, DT, and Apocalypse together every 45 seconds, then every other set of those cooldowns you have Unholy Assault to use with them. You usually will hold Abomination Limb and Empower Rune Weapon for your second use of Unholy Assault, specifically on long boss fights, so Abom and ERW are effectively a 3 minute cooldown you use with every other Unholy Assault
i just watched your video and i love it, i have played un dk but this is a great refresher. i also really like your ui and addons, could we get a video of them i would really like to use them as well
Are u sure about mastery and crit prio ? i did few research from raider io and talked dk main they always says max haste then mastery. It is make sense because it also increase rune generation and attack speed
There’s not really a wrong answer for M+ stat priority, it comes down to personal preference, group damage profile, and even dungeon setup sometimes. That’s why I typically recommend finding a healthy balance that personally feels good for you, just keeping in mind more haste leads to more single target and more crit leads to more AoE
Unholy is still quite good at large pull counts, due to the nature of our kit as well as quadratic scaling, we will always be competitive in M+ because of this. We love BIG pulls :)

Yea this was the end of season 1/beginning of season 2 when I was trying out a very crit heavy build at the end of S1. At the moment I'm at 19% haste/28% crit/65% mastery

Any tips for making defile show ground effects? Ive tried lots of gfx settings but its still shit
Sadly no, it’s just a horrible animation that we have to deal with until/if Blizz addresses it

Yup, crit scales higher with more targets than haste does. You’ll want to play around finding a happy medium between haste and crit in M+
