Thank you so much for this tutorial! So little is available on this subject in Affinity Photo. I was able to follow &repeat the steps on my iPad with good results. Thanks again!
That video came at the right time when I'm setting up my studio with just 2 backdrops! Using Affinity Photo on the iPad since 2 years and a half I always enjoy new tutorials on this app Thx again!
Glad you enjoyed the video! I’ve got a lot of other videos on affinity retouching, and another on changing the background. Let me know if you have any questions, and I’ll do my best to answer!
Thank you. I’m glad you found it helpful. Yeah, sometimes the creases and wrinkles can be so bad I’ll end up spending like an hour just fixing the backdrop. Another option is to select the subject or model, then refine the selection, and save it as a mask. The you can make a blank layer under it to clean up the background and paint or clone stamp behind the subject.
Hi - It might be a good idea to say what version of Affintiy Photo you are using. I found some other tutorial but they were useless as they were a older version, and nothing matched This applies to all software tutorials - spread the word
Glad you liked the video! Do you mean using the color replacement brush tool instead of a fill layer set to soft light? Don’t think I’ve ever tried that but I will! Thank you! Always great to hear new ways of doing something!
@@brgphotography The colour replacement tool will change the color and remain any existing detail on the backdrop. Am practicing your solution now and I like the outcome.
Same here. I’m know there is a ton I’ve yet to learn. I was just playing around with the color replacement brush. Definitely seems interesting, but it seems you can only paint on the pixel layer and not an empty pixel layer. But it definitely works pretty good for a quick replacement of color. I might have to play around with it more before another video I have planned where I show how to fake colored gel lighting.
@@brgphotography It can work on empty pixel layer but with a lighter brush, but at the same time, I get what you mean. Can't wait for the "fake colored gel lighting" Thanks.
Hit its a good tutorial, but you need to remember that on Affintiy Photo all the buttons and Menu Options are very small, so its sometimes hard to see what you are clicking on. Perhaps you could make it a bit clearer to us in some cases.

Perfect timing! Hope it helped!
Very good work flow. Now I fixed some of my studio work. I just need to get some more experience with Affinity Photo. Thanks!

Thanks man! I always appreciate your kind words!
Just what I am lookign for, but my backdrops have lots of creases and wrinkles in them.
Your example is pretty good to start with

That’s a good idea. Especially since they just updated to version 2.0. Thanks.
Thank you very much for this great video-this is really sweet. Have you tried the 'color replacement brush tool [B]'? it can also do this.
Glad you liked the video!

@@brgphotography forgot to mention, thanks for the perlin noise, I have never used it before. I think Affinity has a lot that I am yet to explore.

Thanks for the advice. Yeah, that’s a good idea. I’ll definitely do that for my videos from now on.
Thanks for the feedback!
