The state fair of Texas is the biggest state fair in the US and it happens right in the middle of one of the biggest college football games in the country Texas versus Oklahoma. Sweet Martha's is an institution at the Minnesota state fair. You get the bucket and immediately look for any individuals close by that want to eat 20 cookies off the top so you can get the lid on the bucket. And the cheesecurds are the shit!
Another fair/holiday event you should visit, is the kriskindlmarket here in Chicago. It’s all about German food, drink, and even German traditional items.

What they didn't tell you about Chinatown Complex Food Centre. On the other side of the market in an alley, they also sell a dish called Happy Family. It is their finest BBQ Dog and BBQ Cat. It fills up the largest families and guarantees their dogs and cats are Da' Bomb.
I think the sweet and savory is more ingrained into the American palate, especially for breakfast-we have the McGriddle breakfast sandwich at McDonalds after all. I was skeptical about chicken and waffles but I tried it from a soul food restaurant in my city and it’s just so good. Especially if you add a little hot sauce. It’s not healthy for you but is definitely an elite comfort food.
Imagine having a list of "13 food markets" to visit and including the Miami Fair which is a miserably run shit show, and somehow leaving off Pike Place Market in Seattle. Swear the people that make these lists jsut ask like 5 people on the street and go 'alright good enough clickbait time'

i'm out in L.A. but was lucky enough to have a giant metaball while on the east coast. believe you me ya don't sacrifice any flavor whatsoever they're incredible but no way i could finish it in a single sitting. it took me 3 days altogether to get thru it. btw, "italian meatballs" are actually american they were unknown in italy until fairly recently. where exactly in the states did it first is debated.

I would be so bold as to say the USA is the king of food because it comes from all around the world. UK may be next but it can't compare to the US. We will eat and embrace any kind of food. If you can eat it, we'll eat it and enjoy it!
No mention of the world famous Pike Place Market in Seattle? The Puyallup Fair is also in Washington state which services the entire Pacific Northwest. People even come down from Canada just to go to it. Both are more Diverse in selection of cultural food, entertainment, and well... everything. Plus, there is a selection of equally delicious food and sweets that won't give you a heart attack by the end of the meal, but still have if you do want the meat sweats and sugar shakes.

The London one looked better than all that deep fried crap. Had a deep friend oreo in Texas at a smaller fair one time (4 states fair in Texarkana). I threw up and was sick rest of day….. also all the fruit at that London one looked like better produce than we get here in Texas…California has better produce

Nah, can't do fair food. The vendors for the local county fairs make shit food for the most part, unless it's like a 4H stand selling sandwiches or the Lions Club grilling stuff. The ones I'm talking about are contracted by the carnival company and use the cheapest possible ingredients, I always feel sick after eating that deep fried nuclear waste, no matter what it is. BTW I don't get funnel cakes and cream puffs. Funnel cakes are just fried Styrofoam and cream puffs are just artificial wet air

I’d nominate Reading Terminal Market in Philly. Some great food variety, and some of the best Pastrami in the world at Hershel’s East Side Deli.

Most hot dogs(not all) in Texas will be 100% beef. They do sell beef/pork mixes but for obvious reasons 100% beef is more popular lol

I know right! Since I moved to Seattle, I became a regular visitor to the market shop from Pike Place to the neighbor market on the weekend morning.
