Would love to see someone put fx3 on this and run some tables. But I think because it’s arm based it wont be able to add FX. Would love to see a side by side when this comes out to a pc running FX.

It can run it. I know with android it can def handle it.

Great video, excellent breakdown on the capabilities of the chip! The ALP 4KP was honestly my first exposure to the rk3588 chipset and I'm certainly considering picking one up (Orange Pi 5). I was that impressed by it. After I pay off this new laptop that is lol.

Thanks for the break down my man. Current ALP and ALP Micro, Core Max use the RockChip 3399, this is the same SBC that is also in the iircade. ALU, ALU Mini, Core use the RK3328, as an owner of 10 plus RockChip based Atgames products they are al running great zero issues and extremely reliable compared to my Raspberry Pi's both are basically paperweights with power problems on the Pi3B and the 4 is bricked and never worked, 100 bucks down the drain, so I am very happy with RockChips on atgames products, even the Rk3328 is pretty decent for my coinopsx emulation needs.

No problem. This is my first rk chip and everything looks great

Optimation definitely is the key! A PC and video card has to he be able to jump through hoops for multitudes of different programs. While a chip set dedicated to a particular task/program does not require the same power as a PC trying to run the same Pinball program.

It looks like the RK3588 can do ray traciing as well. It'll be interesting to see if the Pinball FX version on this machine will use it.

It runs cool the only thing that pushes the heat is ps2 emulation

Glad to see someone finally look at the actual tech and realize that the concerns over whether or not this could do 4k60 are put to rest (as if Wagner's video wasn't proof enough). ARM is extremely efficient, which is why Apple chose it as the basis of their chips (Apple heavily customizes their silicon, of course). Everything in the industry is moving that way.
That said, you don't need the GAME to use all the CPU cores. You should have the GPU driving the playfield, have a high-perf core running the backglass and DMD each, and another high-perf core handling physics. That leaves one high-perf core and all the efficiency cores for the OS. You might even be able to get away with using efficiency cores for the backglass / DMD screens
As you said, the real litmus test will be the tables themselves. Looks like the Zaccaria and Zen tables will probably be fine (Zen's tables are exclusive to the 4K machines, so that's pretty confident), the question is going to be around the older tables and if they're lazy ports or not.

    Doesn’t matter if it’s 4k or 100k , virtual pinball sucks . I only play real .

Digital pinball is tiers above mechanical pinball. Hundreds of tables in one VS single game that can easily break.

Yes, I feel the same about transportation. No matter how well these automobiles are made, I only travel by horse and buggy.
