Sorry to hear that. I took a sharp knife and carved away a sliver of mine to make the cap fit tight but not ridiculous where you can't push it on. The shaft seems to be manufactured a bit too large for that cap, or the cap is too small.
Thought you had invited Spinscott as a guest at the start of the video! Then your signature steel drums kick in. And Stereolab turn up at 2:53! Awesome....
my two cents: fx + . is my favourite, and fx are poressure sensitive, to change project you need to hold main and hold number, taping number enters scene number. Holding shift and loop makes loop as long as you hold the loop button.
Needs chapter breaks to show where the tutorial actually starts (about 5 mins in after a demo reel). Edit: damn, also insane how much is exactly from the MPC 1000
Got one it had broken fader and i got a tx 6 which had a screen that did not work. Crazy bad QC. But the worst part is their customer service dept just ghosts you. Be gery careful if you risk your money on a TE product.
Nice introduction, also with some actual tracks and MPC comparison. How do you use it / position it next to that Play+ (or maybe better the OG you’ve owned)?
The KO works better for those classic MPC features of sampling and chopping and beating it out on the pads. The Plays work better for polyrhythmic and complex IDM type of beats and with the + as a synth as well. If I were personally picking Play vs. KO I would choose the Play for sure, but I don't do sample chopping in my current workflow. If I were doing classic hip hop or that type of thing I would have to choose the KO.
@@Digiphex thanks for your quick response 😊 I can totally see that MPC style sampling and editing. As I already own a Play OG I was wondering how it would be used next to the KO? And of course it can be used next to it, but maybe I’m just looking for some experience with it before buying one myself 😉 I also own a Digitakt and Maschine+, which are both totally different machines, too. I love the DT for its creativity and more synth-style mangling. Where the M+ is more of a DAW in a box, and which I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with. When playing the Play it feels like a relief, because of its directness when it comes to sequencing and also jamming in the performance mode. The same I expect from the EP-133, but that’s totally based on these kind of videos. On the other hand, some of its quirks, limited voices / stealing and no resampling are making me doubt. But its portability, creative workflow and last not least the built in microphone do make it very tempting… same goes for the Play, despite the lack of sampling capabilities.
I really don't know much about the old MPC. My guess is that the KO is a million times easier and vastly more performative, impulsive, creative. If you need more features you could get a modern MPC Live II or something like that.
If you don’t know whether you need the MPC1000 or not, you almost certainly don’t need it. Unless there’s some specific feature you’re after that you feel the EP lacks. Both are fine for making beats. They’re very different. If you have fond memories of working with slow older MPCs, the limitations and the loooong loading times and want to reminisce, then the 1000 may make _some_ sense. I’d probably get an MPC One / Live instead if I’d be spending that much money on an MPC now. The EP is a lot of fun for the price and feels nice. Surprisingly solid and intuitive.
Really enjoyed watching the scene swap on the Aphex cover. Nice work!
These are the nicest tunes i have ever heard coming out of this thing. Well done! I'm pretty interested in this box though i really don't need it :D
I will have to revisit this video once i get my replacement EP133 KO2. Sadly, I got one with the broken fader .............

It’s the shaft that’s too big bro don’t doubt yourself 🤝😎
Best walkthrough video I’ve seen, and the comparison to the MPC 1000 was very interesting! I’d love to see more KO II content.
That was a fantastic walk through. nice beats too. Thanks!
Thanks, that was a very unpretentious yet comprehensive tutorial! very good and I would appreciate more of that kind
best demo of this machine i have heard so far
I love the aphex twin film cover. It sounds amazing
Great work!
Thank you. The Boards Of Canada references got me inspired. Thanks for the run through ;)
Just what I needed and from one of my favorite youtubers to ever do it thank you sir!
Also this thing has filled my hardware bug that ive had for awhile now. A good mpc is so expensive…
best tutorial I've seen so far... loved the Flim cover btw

those first 5 minutes sold 1000 units
Dreamy melodic beat that entices the imagination ...... love it
Mine was broken. Just got a replacement. But, ummmm, why have you been the only person to successfully teach this instrument 2 me? Wonderful logic!

Oh dang aphex twin hittin hard on this thing

when you broke it down in mpc 1000 lingo !!! thanks this was helpful.
Your music is fantastic
Can u do a tutorial for drum and bass on ep133 plsss ❤
Can we talk about the Aphex Twin homage?? Amazing.
TRACK = "GROUP" in TE terminology, SECTION = "SCENE". I hope my terms were easier for a beginner!

your time is so solid you dont need this but instead of manually tapping tempo like you did you can use the tempo detect feature i think
that part blew me away
Great! Will get mine tomorrow! 👍🙂
Tutorial at 5:21
Great tutorial!!!
Aphex Twin forever !
Absolutely fantastic. Please make more! Cook something up from scratch?!
I ordered this thing this morning, and I have no idea how to use these things.
I really love the samples you're using. Where would I find some of them?
On my Patreon is quite a few.
Can i record my live finger drumming to a loop and have the bpm match automatically? Thanks for the dope video
Yes indeed
good stuff

You think the ep is as good as the MPC1000? Was thinking about getting a MPC1000 with JJOS. But i ordered a ep now i dont know if i need the mpc1000?

Thank you, im a hold off on the MPC@@Digiphex
