    You got it right. You can't make clootie
    dumpling without black treacle. I make mine with a different mix of spices but that's just personal taste. Well done. I love it when you see the luscious dark result. By the way, when I was entering this, autocorrect turned clootie into calorie. I'm glad I proof read before posting.

    Hey Titanic Temptress!! So great to see you.. we have never seen this Clootie dumpling before, but it's awesome that you showed us how to make this Scottish dish!!! We have never seen a boiled pudding like that before, that you can make in a cheesecloth/tea towel! Thank you for the step by step process, and how you created this!! We can imagine that if you grew up eating this, it would be a comfort food!! Bears Grandpa used to love Yorkshire pudding... Do you ever make that, or is not that common in Scotland??? We love the end result, and was great that you added custard to it!! We were cracking up at the Scottish Insults!! Great video and we hope you're having a great week! Much love!

      Hey mermaids! I guess I'm getting on to the less well know Scottish foods after doing I've done a haggis dish, scotch broth and tablet 😅
      Yes, Yorkshire puddings are well-loved across the UK! We tend not to make them from scratch as often as they do in Yorkshire though (you get them ready-made and frozen). A recent trend in the UK is Yorkshire puddings wraps, they're to die for 😍
