It's great advice though. I'm thankful I didn't go to college right after school because I'd probably be super in debt with a writing/english degree I wasn't really passionate about. wasn't until I was 25 that I realized what I actually wanted to do.
IKR I am probably gonna go to cu for 4 years to get my industrial engineering degree because I have 8 years of college for free because my dad was in the army..... so I want some fun at cu
Iara Jones major in business or Econ, all those artsy majors r stupid asf you’re gonna be making under 100k your whole life and be in hella debt... liberal arts majors suck unless it’s Econ
@@becgg9179 He worded it a bit too harshly, but it’s kinda true dude. The debt is just ridiculous. At least STEM, business and ECO majors can expect to be making close to six figures right out the gate, but I think an artist is better off spending that time perfecting their craft rather than getting into serious debt by taking classes that won’t help them that much.
I love how he mentioned weather and as someone who is originally from the Midwest (Chicago area) but has lived in Colorado most of their life. The weather in Colorado even in the winter is always beautiful and sunny and awesome. If you are coming anywhere from the northeast or the Midwest or the south, the weather will be incredibly nicer because there’s little to no humidity and Colorado has over 250 days of sunshine a year. Only if you are from Southern California or Arizona would I say it’s a downgrade but other than that it’s awesome.
“At the University of Colorado, no two blokes are alike. Tell us about one of your identities and explain it’s significance” The supplemental essay was something along those lines this year
CU Alum here...class of 92. Obviously, A LOT has changed since then...this dude uses some lingo different than my day, and there were no cell phones or twitter for those of us sitting at the back of the auditorium in those 101 classes...but other than that, my dude here is the embodiment of CU culture. Glad to see not too much has changed.
As someone who grew up in Colorado near Boulder, be prepared that the weather is all over the place. It will snow in the morning and be 70 degrees by the afternoon.
I am SO happy people are watching your vids. You have seriously skyrocketed and you deserve all of it. They’re so entertaining and straight up hilarious. Thanx for relieving my stress and anxiety✌🏻 And a HECK yes to Anthony Bourdain style vid
Jack, this was the fucking funniest college review I've ever watched when you started talking about how you feel like you live in a simulation when you're in the dorms I spit water through my nose
I just committed to Boulder after taking a year off after I should've graduated HS to take classes at a community college and although I know people at the school, I've still been feeling nervous but I have a good feeling that I'm going to feel a lot better if I binge your video lmao
I want to go to CU but I have no clue what i want to do when I’m older, would this be a good college to figure it out at or should you only go here if you have a set idea?
Yes go to this college and then to afrotc and you’ll be making more money than everyone else out of college, you get to fly planes and even after you quit your still getting paid
CU boulder has a very fratty and douchey social scene full of pretentious Californians and Colorado natives that think everyone is below them if they're not in greek life. Basically, if you're a guy and not in greek life and you want to party, you're going to have a hard time here. Not many people will say that but it's true. CU Boulder is a very cliquey school and can be difficult for students outside of greek life to make a lot of friends. If you're not joining greek life be prepared to be an ultra extrovert if you want to thrive here. Other than greek life dominating the party scene it's a pretty great school. Great location, good academics, tons of outdoor activities, lots of clubs, huge party scene.
I've lived away from home for almost a year, but travel was covered for my situation back then, as my 'gap' year comes to a close, I have to start thinking about making a living and attending in this August, and I'm very nervous about the finances alone. VERY nervous. Debt scares me, if I can manage financial aid and avoid loans, I'd feel so much better, but the drive alone to Boulder is driving anxiety out the roof, especially with how bad the roads got this past storm in the Southern half of Colorado, that wasn't hit nearly as hard as the Northern half.
Half the reason CU sucks is the rich kids from California. Who willingly moves next to the Rocky Mountains, has their parents pay out of state tuition and then complains about the winter?
I was a naropa kid, but went to a few cu parties and agree about the war zone vibe....it felt pretty rapey to me and once I had to threaten a frat dude with a knife because he hit my 100lb friend chelsea for no reason and then we walked a mile home in the rain.
Boulder is diverse compared to other Colorado towns. Boulder is about 80%+ white. Colorado is pretty white. Denver has some level of Diversity but it's white everywhere else.
CU student since 2014 here. you will see that the winter is waay longer that you think. snow storms also in end of april. but then It's gorgeous. ah, then, the city because of google economic bubble is kind of dying. in 2015 there were tons of people on pearl street almost every night. now...puff. once was so cool. but still a good place where to live :D
only found ur channel while looking up stuff about cu boulder might go there as a transfer student next year from the bay lmao, but youre funny as shit keep postin this good content B)
I kind of disagree about the food being mostly unhealthy.... Yes, if you go to Farrand, it's usually burgers, pizza, quesadillas, etc, but they also at Farrand have cooked vegetables. They often do sweet potatoes, cauliflower, broccoli, (one time a vegetable sautee mix which was super super good, and kale salad). Also, CU Boulder has a lot of Vegan/Vegetarian options especially at the C4C and at Sewall. A lot of the time they will have tofu dishes, vegetarian pho/ramen, and vegetarian sushi rolls (I will admit, there are basic rice and spicy carrots, but quite delicious). I actually enjoy the food a lot here at CU and it's definitely better than your average college food! Also, I am surprised you didn't mention the Weather Tech Cafe, which is located down a floor from the C4C and stays open until like 2am and has yummy things!

I'm going to be honest I don't want to go to CU, but I find you so entertaining that I would probably watch you talk about nothing for 3 hours
Iara Jones why don’t you want to
Go to CU
JDECKLES I'm not from Colorado so tuition will be hella expensive and CU doesn't have classes that are good in what I'm interested on majoring.
