    I am so glad that David is still with us, and healthy. Him and Tony's voice always brought a happy smile to my face in the mid 80's. Please introduce the Road Warriors!!

      I used to absolutely despise David as a color guy, but I have done an absolute 180. He is an absolute icon. JCP TV is not as good without him.

    I like Ole Anderson but yes , he could rub you wrong . I read excerpts from his book and found myself agreeing with a lot of what he said . He is a smart guy .

    I do remember NWA Midatlantic Wrestling in 1970,s and 1980,s. I do remember Jim Crockett Wrestling Promotions. Jim Crockett Wrestling Promotions has purchased NWA Georgia Championship Wrestling.

    He touched my heart when he said his dad wasn't supposed to die. I felt that way when my dad died but my brother actually said it. I never told my dad I loved him either.

    That's why I missed the 80s Saturday 6:05pm. TBS there was nothing that couldn't keep me from watching world championship wrestling, that little studio was more entertaining with wrestling then anything, in my opinion Jim Crockett promotions and the WWF was going head-to-head even back then, as much as I like the WWF Jim Crockett promotions / NWA was so better and it was more real especially when the four horsemen broke Dusty Rose hand with that bat, I can't forget about CTN channel worldwide wrestling NWA every Friday 8 p.m.

    MidAtlantic was booming in the seventies . I was in Louisiana so I only knew that because of the wrestling magazines . Only WWWF got more press . I remember getting a excited when King Kong Mosca came to Louisiana because he was in the magazines . ( was not that impressed with his ring ring work ) .

    Its so weird that David is so well spoken in these shoots when his announcing days were marred with constant flubs .

    • @jimbrown5091
      @jimbrown5091 8 місяців тому +1

      I chalked that up to adrenaline and trying to keep up with the action. Had it not been his family's business, he probably wouldn't have been the announcer...but he also was very...babyface biased and really sort of "man on the street" with his calls...it made it seem more "real"

    davids right about dusty. dusty thought he was a bigger star than he actually was and wanted to be viewed as a huge star so he used the crockett family money to try and do it. just look at how dusty handled his own finances after 30 years in the business he was flat broke

    • @ApothecaryGrant
      @ApothecaryGrant Рік тому +2

      Dusty was a huge star but he was decreasing in popularity . He kept himself in the main event mix just like Verne Gagne did . Basically it was insurance against big stars holding up the promotion . If he was still a top hand that was one guy he could always count on no matter what . On top of that he could always give the rub to up and coming talents if he kept himself relevant . He did not understand finance nearly as well as Jimmy Crockett needed to . Dusty was right about some things but ignorant about others

    Due to the fact WCW wrestlers were not making a lot of money,WCW promotion was more entertaining than WWF……
