I helped build a company with a friend. He refuses to have any partners. I'm more of an advisor/accountant. Shud I jus work there until something better comes along and stop the advising? Background: I am a CPA candidate and have worked as an operations specialist at a big oil and gas sub subsidiary.
I would. They either value you for what you can as or don’t. You are either the genius or the help in their eyes and it sounds like they see you as the help.
What if I join as an operator, will that be a taxable event as soon as equity is granted? It’s an established very profitable company and I asked for equity but the tax situation is confusing Restricted stock award situation
Generally in the US a grant of equity in a company that already has value would be a taxable event. Definitely check with an attorney or tax approval to be sure.
@@RolandFrasierEPIC Thank you very very much. I'm watching all your videos. I didn't put the watermark looked really too crammed hopefully no one uses it without me.

You are really awesome! How much equity do you think a trademark holder of a small business should get? Thank you.
Thank you BG! It just depends on the deal. I need more info to reply.
How do you get paid consistently on equity though? Like say you help a business as an advisor? How do you get a check every 30-90 days ?

Do you think it is a good choice to add a watermark on my business plans sent to investors? Thank You
It doesn't really matter, most people won't take your IP and if they are they'll do it even if it has a watermark on it.
