How what are the impacts that AI will have in such?
Is the ext bcom in information systems the same as BCOM in information systems
I think so yes...the only difference should be that the ext is a year extra for example if your math or something isn't high enough so sort of a brige
Thank you so much for this video. I am in grade 11, I do Accounting, Business Studies with Pure Maths. I just wanted to know if the transition into IS will not be too difficult since I do not do IT or CAT at school level?
I'm doing my first year of BCom IS at Wits and didn't do CAT or IT. Its not difficult at all because they do everything on the assumption that not everyone has a background in tech. I'm not sure how it would be at other universities though.
I also didn’t study CAT or IT, it’s not difficult at all to transition because the lectures are aware that not everyone has a tech background.
@@NtsikiHarmse I didn't do accounting or any commerce subjects. Done History, Physics, Life Sciences and Mathematics but planning to transfer to Bcom and Bcom(IS) is one of my options. would that be a major disadvantage?

Hi, I know this shouldn't be much of a determining factor, but how is the pay and work-life balance for new graduates. I'm in first year at UCT doing business science finance and accounting, and am considering switching to IS.
I'm one of the few students that sent you a private message on Twitter. I'm going to come back with a testimony November/ December 2023.
Thank you for this ❤
I wish you all the best 💕💕
Hi! I am a student of Information Systems in Brazil, I would like to know if it is possible to become a software engineer in companies.
Hi from what I’ve been seen yes it is possible, but you’d need to do a short course around software engineering where you’ve also practice on your own time or have some sort of experience.
Hey, I'm doing information system, eco and math eco i wanted to ask if I'll be able to do PGCE
Hey,What if you did not do accounting in high school will it be difficult to do this course.
Hey no it won’t be difficult, in university they will teach you the basics of accounting during your first year. You’ll only do accounting during your first year.
Is it a difficult course ?
Cause I love computers but like us it fun ?
For ME it was not difficult . I got through it with a lot of challenges but there are few challenges so it’s based on the individual. If you enjoy computers you may enjoy it
What do you think about a bcom information systems at nwu?
Is the BCom IS at WITS the same as the Business Informatics at UNISA?
Not really my experience with Unisa was that it was a little more technical knowledge like ( cloud computing, security) which I enjoyed but I was doing honours so I’m not sure on the degree. However the different was not that big.
I'm doing my first year studying Bcom in business informatics qualification at Unisa but would like to tranfer to Wits to study bcom in information system, are they the same and can I continue my degree at wits??
Hi! Thank u for this informative video! I'm a 12th grade STEM student. Is it okay if I choose this course? Is not too difficult for me for. Someone without an accounting background and such??. Thank u again!! 💗
Hi Xine. Yes it’s okay in university they usually give you an introduction into accounting and information systems. It’s not a must to have done these subjects but it can give an advantage to better understand
@@NtsikiHarmse thank you so so muchh💗💗💗🤗
Hi am doing Bcom information systems at wits
How are the job opportunities
They are available but make sure you apply for graduate programs and internship when in 3rd year
@@NtsikiHarmse which places would you recommend to apply to? And what happens if you plan on going to honours straight after? Must you still apply for them?
@@KeketsoN01 Apply to as many companies of course do your research, try to go for companies with Big names and well known , like banks or audit firms or consulting companies. If you planning to do Honours and sure you’ll get it then you don’t need to apply but I would rather be on the safe side and apply.
@@NtsikiHarmse I just watched your other video and thank you so much!!!!!
Just saw this video and I would like to ask if I don't do maths and I do maths lit but I get level 7 is there a possibility they would accept me
Hi Maths is the required subject , but they can advice you maybe on a bridging course that you can take for one year or you’d just need to upgrade to pure maths. Go to the institution you want to study at or give them a call call them.
@@NtsikiHarmse okay thank you
Hi
You can actually do this degree with maths literacy at the university of Johannesburg as a extended programme ,it will take a extra year to complete though. rather than completing it in 3 years ,you will complete it in 4 years
@@ndzalamarikhotso1705 thank you very much
@@ndzalamarikhotso1705 hi! Can I please have more information on how to apply for the extendes programme at University of Johannesburg. K was unaware that they have it, are you given an option to add it to your application or are you automatically considered for it if you dont qualify for the main bcom course?
What's a nice complimentary course ?
Hey it’s really up to you since it’s a BCom there’s a lot if course to choose from. I took Marketing
How much programming you do at wits?
You will need to contact Wits for the update program course details but when I was there it was 1 language c#
C# for 3 years ?
Do information systems graduate do web designing?
Yes but it’s usually a semester course not going into it to deeply
Is it worth it to study Information Systems at UNISA?
Yes it is maybe the challenge would be securing a job
You lost me at accounting
Just one year of basic accounting
Can I be your friend 🥺🥺
Yes 🥺🥺
