We will most likely never see him work with M. Night again due to this film. He was hoping to work for a serious film and make a work of art, not a piece of shit.

When I first saw this movie, I was literally dying from extreme asthma brought on by sudden exposure to unfamiliar plants in Costa Rica. After a respirologist appointment where a trained specialist told me he had no idea what was wrong or how to help me, my girlfriend and I went to see this movie to take my mind off the plants and the fact that they were trying to kill me. In retrospect, I suppose it was probably more frightening for me than it was for most people.

This movie had hands down the stupidest plot of any film I've ever seen. A mysterious illness that makes people consciously decide to kill themselves? Give me a break. Oh and later we find out the plants made it happen because they're mad at us? I mean, most movies require a certain level of suspension of disbelief but this one really takes it to ridiculous and silly hieghts
When I first heard of this movie I thought the idea was interesting. The execution was just terrible, though, and biologically it's unlikely anything like this will ever happen like this. Something like a deadly toxin requires lots of time for plants to produce, and for all of them to somehow have it at the same time is preposterous. For it to affect humans in such a way is even more unbelievable.
the closest thing to this being possible is maybe the plot to The Last of Us with the cordyceps evolving to affect humans. although the zombie murder part no. We'd just try to infest others with spores and die. just like those ants and spiders

They also tend to tie the trailers in with the releases of other movies. Let's say that next year, when Batman vs Superman comes out, they do Batman Begins because it "ties in" with the movie, if that makes any sense. Otherwise, their choices are pretty random - like here, The Happening doesn't really tie in with anything at the moment.

Am I the only one that thought the premise had potential? Plants aren't terrifying, but if they had instead relied on psychological terror and utilised better characters and better acting, they could have had a solid plot. Instead they actualy tried to make trees look threatening.

When I first saw this movie, I was literally dying from extreme asthma brought on by sudden exposure to unfamiliar plants in Costa Rica. After a respirologist appointment where a trained specialist told me he had no idea what was wrong or how to help me, my girlfriend and I went to see this movie to take my mind off the plants and the fact that they were trying to kill me. In retrospect, I suppose it was probably more frightening for me than it was for most people.
This movie apparently had a target audience of one. It's you! A movie made specifically for you.

Look at Emily Blunt, she was set to be Black Widow in Iron Man 2 but still had one more film left to do for Fox, and with Fix being douchebags they are with Marvel's property they castes Blunt in Gulliver's Travels....making her unavailable for the role of Black Widow

When I first heard of this movie I thought the idea was interesting. The execution was just terrible, though, and biologically it's unlikely anything like this will ever happen like this. Something like a deadly toxin requires lots of time for plants to produce, and for all of them to somehow have it at the same time is preposterous. For it to affect humans in such a way is even more unbelievable.
the closest thing to this being possible is maybe the plot to The Last of Us with the cordyceps evolving to affect humans. although the zombie murder part no. We'd just try to infest others with spores and die. just like those ants and spiders

And they've done The Dark Knight and The Dark Knight Rises, but not Batman Begins. They did do an Honest Trailer for Fast Five, but not the other Fast and Furious movies.

They also tend to tie the trailers in with the releases of other movies. Let's say that next year, when Batman vs Superman comes out, they do Batman Begins because it "ties in" with the movie, if that makes any sense. Otherwise, their choices are pretty random - like here, The Happening doesn't really tie in with anything at the moment.

Am I the only one that thought the premise had potential? Plants aren't terrifying, but if they had instead relied on psychological terror and utilised better characters and better acting, they could have had a solid plot. Instead they actualy tried to make trees look threatening.
