Why does Traptrix Trap Hole Nightmare feel like such a "free" negate? I get it only works on the turn the opponent's monster was special summoned, and only while "On the field", but Traps are set on your turn and most good cards have effects that activate on special summon or have to be special summoned in general like Extra Deck monsters. Idk...just my thoughts.
@scavenge7177 Yeah, but he's saying that it "feels" free. Which makes sense. Unlike more common negates, it can't be ashed mid-combo. It doesn't require extra resources to set-up. And it not only negates the effect, but it destroys the monster too. Its not Baronne, but for a single card to feel close, its not bad.
To be 1000% honest I don’t particularly like traptrix, Labrynth, or any trap deck, let alone the whole UwU girl theme, however I will appreciate the artworks as I have to give credit where credit is due.
Pretty sure that there are plenty of gritty/dark/majestic/"cool" artworks+archetypes. And you saying that just shows that you're only used to playing these kinds of decks, hmm?
Because Yugioh, even though it’s hella competitive, doesn’t take itself as serious as MTG seems to at all times. That’s the appeal for a lot of fans. You can have a dark and crazy, twisted religious fantasy theme like Dogmatika/Albaz all the way to an unsuspecting cute, but powerful deck like Madolche or Live twin. A lot more off-brand variety that’s also viable. More than most TCGs.

I mean, you described exactly why it's not a free negate. It's delayed, has a specific requirement, and can be removed before it's usable.
