maybe try putting parchment paper on the heating elements so the rubber doesn't stick
Doesnt work. Teflon pads will work

@@calholli we work with rubber at work. Parchment paper cant handle the heat thats needed to vulcanize, unvulcanized rubber

As usual, the production planning, documentation and editing for this project was superb; a comment I will keep repeating. The behind scenes portion of these stories is still remains a bit of a mystery, but clearly shows there are some extreme minds involved. 🧠🧠🧠🧠😉

Small water cooled part between heating element and piston rod would be nice. Heated rod can damage sealing in the cylinder and cause leaking.

Always remember try ur best not to touch the raw rubber when putting it together the oil on ur fingers will keep it from vulcanizing and if ur going to fix a hole always shove rubber into it or use a self vulcanizing rubber plug. But this build was awesome love the videos

Nice attempt but this machine lacks the power to vulcanize (weld) rubber.
The liquid rubber needs to dry a bit before you press. Also the rubber patch needs to be ad on with a roller and force. For heat you will need at least 150°C for over half an hour with a pressure around 4bar. And slow cooldown. Loose pressure when its around 50°C
