- Kenny Rose is an author and publisher who co-wrote the last book written by W.R. Morris on the subject of "Walking Tall" Sheriff Buford Pusser. Rose tells how he first met and then worked with Morris. He also tells what it was like to work with the author, the people they met and interviewed as well some of the things he learned about the REAL story as opposed to what we see in the movies and the myths and misinformation that is disseminated by the many Pusser "fan pages" across the internet.
Would love to hear audio of that Bo Svenson interview, if you have it.
Thank you for your time and the video. I grew up in North Alabama in the 70's and my grandfather told me stories about all of this. His stories where more like what you are telling. Not what Joe Don Baker was acting like . Thanks again for all your efforts.
Great interview gentleman!! Kenny Rose is first class in my book. The entire saga is still incredibly interesting to me …even after all these years. I’ll say once again as a young boy in the mid 70’s I spent my summers with my dad in Savannah Tn…. My dad had many many friends they all knew Pusser and had dealt with him. When the Pusser subject would come up …there was never a good word said about Buford… just some insight from the folks that lived it.
Thank you, Shane Cochran. I could have talked a lot more, but maybe we will do another if Mike asks me back. Really enjoyed doing the interview.
Thanks for your comments. Kenny will be back.
@@bufordpusser1122 mike you’re doing great work and keep uncovering the truth
@@stevemtc1 Thanks. There always seems to be more to come.
@@bufordpusser1122 you have to understand I have a feeling the lid is about to come off on this thing. I hate to sound vulgar but the turd in the punch bowl theory. I’ve always believed he was like the movie said and people from around there have told me he was about as bad as the folks . But with the preservation of his home and the protection of his daughter.
We have to look at this in a different light. And many years bout 10 years ago Jerry skinner did a documentary on the ambush; if you remember correctly you raised some doubts and I along with Jerry and others attacked your argument. But I have a feeling sixty years later high time the truth will be let out
I don’t get it? What motive would Pusser have to murder Louise?
Maybe she wouldn't make her pay offs to him that he demanded.
@@shadowwolf2524 Pusser wasn't getting bribes. That's shit the corrupt people he was running out of town started to spread.
She wouldn’t pusser his BUFORD!
@@shadowwolf2524 are you serious? I didn’t think he did that
She had the goods on him…she could testify
I lived in Corinth from 73-80. Spent a lot of time at the state line, my high school sweetheart's stepdad was shot in the leg by Buford when he was busting his still. My best friend still lives on New Hope Church road. I went to college in Florence Al, and am familiar with Nelda Stevens Chevrolet. I Have heard several different stories about the dealership and the "Dawson Gang".
I've read the book as well.
Buford has always been represented as a "hero", seems like a shame for the truth to reveal something different.
But we need to know. Thank you for your time and attention to this!
Mr Elam I intend to buy your book. I can't hardly wait. I grew up viewing the walking tall movies and considered him to cop. To be honest it hurt a little but the truth does at time or so I've heard. Thank you sir
Enjoyed this very much....
Thank you, Mike. I enjoyed doing it.
Glad you enjoyed it
Good stuff, Mike. Found your work on FB a couple years ago and you really opened my eyes.. I thoroughly enjoy your work. It's real, and you put a lot of time in your work, and it shows.
Mike I’ve argued with you before Didn’t like what you had to say but I have to say,
All of the things don’t add up in the movies and just the heroic things Buford had as being a virtuous idea.
@@stevemtc1 Check the evidence. It doesn't lie
It seems there is a lot more to this story than what has been told and made into movies. I can’t wait to to see more and read your book. Thank you for sharing!
Since we are doing this series in chronological order we are just about to get to the "good stuff."
@@bufordpusser1122 I can’t wait! Thank you for replying back to me!
Russell Hamilton killed 3 people to
Possibly more, but there is so much more to Russ Hamilton's death than most know. What Buford did in the minutes following the shooting is a bit baffling.
It doesn’t make any sense that you say Buford pusser took payoffs if that was the case the Man wouldn’t have been shot to pieces so many times they would have simply paid him off and there would not have been all the Ruckus even his wife being killed I believe the man was true to his job to serve and protect!!!
Bosharpe well believe in your idol as for me I believe in j.c.
What the host has ro gain by telling a false story is book sales.
Hey Mike did you ever write Kirksey a letter several years back asking questions?
I wrote to Nix, asking a few questions but he never replied.
@@bufordpusser1122 He thought he remembered your name
What really surprised me about the Pusser museum in Adamsville is there is the story of Elvis and Buford being best of friends, and he (Elvis) came over to visit after Buford's fatal car wreck. And there really is no proof to back that up.
It a great story to tell when you are trying to stir visitors emotions. Why are there no photos of Buford and Elvis together?
From what I've read. He was looking for cash.Rumor say they were pulling In 70.000 aweek I would look too. 1960s money today value is crazy .
Merde!!!
I had no idea this much fake n made up I was 18 in 1973 im 66 now I bet theres millions of us eat up with this story all these years lol ive known couple guys worked part time like a dep sherrif reserve always come up with theses gunsmoke like stories
