- THANK YOU so much for waiting. I am surely going to upload more often now on since the previous weeks were full of school activities, preventing me from uploading....
This vivarium update talks about our silver weaver ants, anochetus colony and lots of other supercool organisms inhabiting our tank! Bit we end up with a REALLY unpleasant surprise...
Thank you for watching and have a fANTastic day!
Nordic ants.

Thank you so much for waiting guys. I can't promise scheduled uploads because of school but i can promise that an upload will always appear on your feed eventually!
Nordic Ants I loved the montage at the start was that a Solenopsis queen that came out of the test tube?
Tetramorium bicarinatum!
Nordic Ants ahh ok I hope she thrives and starts a colony have you thought about insect eating plants to control the termites
Nordic Ants the Argentine is by far my favorite because it's available around my home and I don't have to worry about mixing colony as they are always the same one here in America.
7:43 *Tank floods.*
Ant: *Casually enables water walking cheat*
This is pretty much how hackers act on a minecraft server.
HAHAHAHAHA good one :,)
The snail is a tanychlamys sp. and the “parasitic organism” is actually part of the snail and is used like an arm to clean its shell
NO WAY?! That idea actually crossed my mind once but for real!!! Thats so cool
Amazing! I thought for sure it was bad
i recommend making your voice about 20%-30% louder in these videos, i would love to have your good informative commentary easier to listen to when i sit back in my couch C: right now it's a bit overshadowed by the music though and gets dominated by it at some moments.
Will! Have got the same feedback over and over again. Thank you guys so much for caring about my content! Love you
*Oh my god, I have never heard of pheidole being able to walk on water before. You should definitely report your findings to an expert myrmecologyst!!! That's so incredible!*
Zbionix / Caleb H. It's nothing crazy 😂😂 any any can do it. They're so light and if they move fast enough they don't break the tension surface of the water therefore allowing them for a short and brief period to walk on water. Eventually no matter what they'll break through and go in. But sometimes they'll be able to walk on it for a brief bit of time.
Scientist already knew that...
I am late but I use a water moat for my parva and they usually can walk on it if its shallow enough but they since learnt its a barrier
@@peel8043 cool!! Hey at least they don't cross it anymore
Thought this was ants Canada
But Im Gonna watch anyway.
Aj Gallardo I thought so too! Didn't even know this channel existed! They seem cool though
Mhm!
Better than AntsCanada ;)
@@antsusa215 All ants channels deserve equality.
@@shaneleonard3655 what ?
Man I love your sound tracks and your vivarium is impressive. it is a lot different from what I usually watch on antscanada because you leave a lot more room for experimentation, letting your diverse collection of ants and termites live in the same place it's very interesting
Thank you for the support!
“They have some very special and cool behaviors, like scratching, and rubbing ass.” 😂😂😂
Is there a video showing how he made the vivarium?
Man I can't imagine how distracting that vivarium must be. I wouldn't be able to stop watching it.
DarthVantos TRUE! So hard not to
How much did it cost to make it? Your vavirum is so huge that major outbreaks of mold and mites don't seem to be a plague
@Nordic Ants
You Ever think about adding a roach hive? A whole bunch of roaches would be food for everyone.
I have added crickets :D but it also hostes a decent colony of small roaches :D
this vivarium is just beutifull
*me when i notice nordic ants made a video* "YEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA"
Ants with Daedric armor
Epic video! I really like the vivarium updates! 👍😃🐜
Those worms look like they could maybe be nematodes or possibly flatworms
Duramax Pat you litterally named two of the three big groups of worms, so not very helpfull, sure they are not annelida? xD
Please do more vivarium update videos I love them
weaver ants are so cool
The legs made it look like it was walking on water
I like your terrariums so much more than AC's. Infact I believe you were the first ant keeper to do a paludarium, so the most original. I think they're Polyrhachis dives
AntsUSA Hey I saw you commenting on ants canada saying that you liked Nordic ants more then his.
iiSpyro that's me haha
Ahh the onewheel startup sound..
Horrific yet spectacular!!! U gots a way with words my friend. Dope stuff as always
Best vivarium video ever I love them
ok this is awesome i am now going to look for the playlist for the entire thing and watch it all.
I know this is pretty old now, but that’s how you properly do a cliffhanger!! Awesome 👏
Pls update more, ur channel is one of my favourite
Schoooool but i will do my bezt :D
Nordic ants see if you can find someone else to help get extra video and maybe do some editing
They look almost like spiders
Yes! With spines. Fascinating little creatures :D
These videos are amazing! i need more!
A true nordic channel... Filming the fights between nature! May the ant enter Anthalla! or what ever that ant believes to be his next destination :)
Anthalla! Nice one
Nice video Nordic! I love those weavers
I have been amazed by your video’s! Amazing voice overs and what an incredible vivarium! Also seems like you know your ecology. Keep iT up!
Thank you so much!!!
Great video dude 😊, that vivarium is amazing and the gecko super cool 😄
Add bulldog ants because they are slow developing colonies and they are known for killing entire colonies of Argentina ants.
Yayyyyyy! New Nordic ants vid!!!!
AWESOME VID!!!! so much diversity!!!!!! my first time learning about and seeing a vivarium!
Thank you so much! And hope you learned cuz these are awesome!!!
The ants look so cool! I just discovered this amazing channel and I'll just drop a single subscription here.
You have a new subscriber, this vivarium is a thing of beauty. Thank you. 🖤🇨🇦
Your channels amazing! Thanks for uploading, my guy
Only 3 super predators? What about that giant centipede you released in a previous video?
YES! Wow cant believe i forgot about her... and my 3 mantises inside! Havent seen them for a while. Thank you for reminding me!!!
waited so long for this but happy i did
YEAAAH NORDIC ANTS i have been waiting so long!
Great video. I just thought you should know that that worm in the water is most likely a type of parasite that lives in crickets. It spends most of its life inside the cricket, but when it is an adult, it drowns the cricket in a puddle and leaves it.
Animal Guy oh wow!! Awesome do you know the name of the worm? :O
There a few worms that do this. But in my personal opinion, I think it is a horsehair worm. here's a description of them citybugs.tamu.edu/factsheets/landscape/others/ent-1001/ . I might be wrong though. My knowledge on parasitic worms is laking :P. Hope this helps!
Love this stuff. Subscribed!
Amazing so cool miss this
Yes I love this soooooo much!
Hey, loving everything you've put out with this vivarium so far, it's really amazing! Just curious, what kind of barrier do you use to keep things from coming out of the top? As far as I'm aware it hasn't been explained; or I've missed it haha
TheForestFire thank you so much! I use olive oil on the sides :D
I saw this species when i was on holidays in Queensland ever since then they have been my dream ant to keep
Mustve been a similarly looking species! Not native in australia but i couldnt agree more :D
@@nordicants6232 true the ones i saw were a bit more silver and there were gold ones maby the introduced tho still i love them
Bro this was awesome you’ve earned yourself a sub
This is what I've been looking for. Lots of biodiversity.
Good to see a new video pal.
my first vid i have watched well
am watching the rest of them now
love the vid btw
Thank you so much! :D
np man i have watched about 12 of your vids now and am loving them cant wait for new one's
Great vid
Can´t wait for the next update (and to maybe try something similar myself. But with local species and on a smaller scale)
Thank you! And yes absolutely these vivariums are amazing!!!
Very cool video! It's like having the National Geographic channel in your home! I hope to make one of these someday :)
I’m definitely going to have to watch previous episodes of your what was it called viviariam? And I’m curious how far it goes back in videos, I really like the idea of you keeping it natural with multiple types of animals this might be something I’ve been missing and wanting to see.
you deserve more subs! closed eco system with ants...! cmon people dont you understand how awesome this is!
For the pond you can order online eggs of Daphnia, Triops, Cyclops, and Red Tailled Fairy Shrimps. And if your pond has a filter you could even add some Cherry Shrimps and Micro Crabs, and even some Endler Guppies. The worms look like Tubifex worms which eat detritus.
Shaden0040 awesome comment. Will consider stuff and thanks a lot for all info!!
yw!
wow, they look like little robotic ants jajaja it would be interesting to know why they look so silvery shiny, are they tougher than normal ants, etc and analizing their structure under a microscope
Interesting topic! They are really robust yes. The silver is probably to reflect the sun?
its confirm that the ant is jesus XD
Really cool Video. Hope you will publish more often
Doing my best! But i promess that uploads will come :D
Legend!
Your video is really awesome and always having joy to watch!! May I ask you what kind of camera that you using to make this, such the best quality of video??
Iphone 7 and olloclip macrolense om it :D
Nordic Ants Thanks for your answer!!
is that a giant spider behind the rocks at 6:01? u can see what looks like 2 spiderlegs with white marks moving...
Cool intro! I love this series!! Your awesome! Ant love 4ever
Such good science having all thoes fauna and flora together
Nordic Ants please more video
New favourite channel nice 1 bro
I loved that intro
Man, I just got some Predatory beetles, but nothing can beat this XD 13:09
HAHAHAHA yeah dude #squad
Great vid
AMAAAAAAAAAZING!!!
Cool vid. !
Yeaaaa a new video!!!!!!
I love your videos!
yay new update!!!!
Wow ive been watching ants Canada since he still lived in Canada and he would never let ants fight with live insects. He seemed to think it was immoral, and I always disagreed. Im glad you allow for the ants to have at least some danger and dont baby them like Antscanada does.
Justin K.
True, but then you also have to remember, AntsCanada probably has colonies that reach new, (and intelligent) hights, and like with the new, rare species he caught (the ones with very little biologist research done on them) need to be watched and studied carefully, but yeah, I do see your point.
Also, how did he get the water level to rise? It makes it seem so much more natural that way..
It would very cool to see natural disasters mimicked I m this set up with the ant colony, to see how they react.
i agree the only thing i would change, is to feed them a mix of both live and dead food because ants would naturally scavenge as well as hunt.
lmao you must not watch AC videos then.
i watch them alot and it does seem that AC only pre crushes his food.
Jim Yes, very true!

awesome video bro
Great video!!!!!!
Cool weaver ants
use a tube to connect the tank to another tank(s), one of them should be really large, not tall but wide and long, and most have water with fish etc in it. :P love the channel in less than 4 vids keep up the good work!!
ITS a amazing AND wonderfull vivarium so great job AND ecosystem
Thank you :D
Awesome
Good video
Nice video again
IT'S FREAKING ANT JESUS
very cool, I didn't know about these guys. Dig the color, Wonder if you can keep them in the US...
You are the best!!!!ant keeper man
Your videos are so great. I only wish the music volume wasn't so much higher than your voice so I don't have to keep turning the volume up down up down. But it's worth it.
I know!! Especially for this video I am so sorry... hope my newer videos are better concerning this
@@nordicants6232 I have been watching a lot of your videos now, and yes, the newer ones are much better. Thanks!
Awesome!!!!
When you are busy and can't watch it :(
Don't worry my friend! it will wait for you :D
When you get 4 likes xD good video
I like this channel even though I've only seen one video
Ants canada just got a species from this same genus I think. Beautiful ants great video epic biodiversity.
the biodiversity of species in this terrarium is truly amazing. How does one go about doing something like this? is it simply just not intervening with the animals and letting them behave naturally. I have a 55 gallon terrarium with geckos, beetles, tree frogs and some micro fauna such as springtails. I also have some fungus gnats with the occasional jumping spider but nothing compared to this.
The incredible thing is that i have barely added any animal except the weavers and the supple skink. They all came with the plants and logs... amazing
You could try adding soil and plants from the environment to your terrarium. Insects and other small animals lay their eggs all over them and maybe they'll thrive in your terrarium? It also helps that there aren't many "big" predators in his already large enclosure. If you have a lot of frogs and geckos, they can potentially go through a lot of smaller animals potentially curbing your biodiversity, especially the insect and arachnid population.
Shattered Skys thanks I've done that but I will lower the predation risk for the insects.
Just found this channel and I'm hooked.... Think you could try to get more footage of the gecko, skink and vinegaroon in action?
My daily work! So hard though as they are illusive!(except Bernie, but he is shy) although i have seen them hunt the process of getting the camera and light on time is very challenging.. but i still have hopen
Try watching antscanada
I also subbed to him, but I prefer this channel better, more diversity in the setups.
7:40 Ant Jesus
0:25 is that like low/high tide, an artificial one you've made? i've often thought about the mechanics behind something like building a low/high tide system.
edit: nvm finished watching
That starting music >n
Peeble Kitty u liked it or not? :o good to know if u guys like the intros or not :D
It was cool at first but it got a little annoying, imo. The rest of the video's really good tho :3
