Clapton has been one ☝️ of the best since the first time I saw 👀 him in the 60’s
Just gotten better and easier for the man..
Thank you for the music E C
Totally agree. He got the best to play with and then he just got better and better as he got older. That 2001 concert in Tokyo was the best ever.
1:17:38 The riff Knopfler plays during the band intro later became the tune "No can do" on his 1996 album "Golden Heart" ;)
1988 25th ANNIVERSARY TOUR Eric Clapton (guitar/vocals), Nathan East (bass), Mark Knopfler (guitar), Alan Clark (keyboards), Steve Ferrone (drums), Tessa Niles (vocals - entire tour), Tracy Ackerman.
Thanks for saving me googling the ‘cast’ / ‘dramatis personae’.
NATHAN EAST!!!!!
My god... Eric and Mark. My loves of all loves.

same here
Ver Eric Clapton e Mark Knopfler Juntos é simplesmente espetacular!
You know the evening is going to be mind blowing when it has been begun with that splendid Clapton touch.
There's no
Amazing always
I think so
They are all great. And Nathan East - he's a genious bass player
And with hair and a beard!!! But... I miss Gadd in the lineup. He can drive Clapton better than anyone.
the best performances of Eric Clapton.
Clapton playing beautifully, OLE Slow Hand !
Luv the man n his music
This has to be well worth a listening of 110 minutes of blues prowess..FINE all right with me, Y'ALL ! ! ! ! !
Ah back when strobe lights were king, those were the days!
I was at this one. Excellent show. Cool Mountain View autumn night. Thanks for uploading.
Lay Down Sally is so good here. One of my biggest regrets in life is not going to this concert. I was only 3 years old at the time but still, I should have known better!
I totally agree with u, Bro
.ñltllmm
Being that you were still in your pampers at the time of this awesome event we will forgive you for not showing up at this concert😂 but you won't never ever😂 let happen again. Or you will be grounded to your room for one month filled with Clapton albums and a fender stratocastor guitar and a Marshall amp 😎
It does not get better than that! A masterpiece. Thank you for this precious concert
Thank you sir this is the way I feel with my wife
I want to see Eric before I die! Somewhere in Northern California.
Thank you for this musical blessing
You do me proud
Love my Clapton music ❤Forever Fan ♥
Wonderful tonight This is the perfect n the most emotional n beautiful performence ever. Eric n Mark each of you re my most favorite stars
Clapton, at the peak of his 1980's commercial success. Nice desginer suits! When you look good, you feel good.
ChicagoBlues1952 an Armani man..back then
and he looked MaRR- vah- Lus. Around 93 it was "Nothing But The Blues" tour and boots of "practice" that pulled me from a low place after an idiot almost killed me in front of a Flag man doing 60 in a 'stop ahead,' +Flagman ahead" zone.
fun share. On the infamous Dan Ryan
x-way...just south of DT Chgo. (I-90/94@ 59th. b4 Skyway)
John Constantinides That was when he really started to own it..and throw it down..
and not much time spent on stage not playing real blues and sounding like he was playing like that all his life.
which He was..but it did not come out like it did after NOTHING BUT THE BLUES came to town..A U.S. tour maybe in 93. boots in 92. killer blues like the 2010 guitar fest for Antiqua.
Voodoo Chile w Winwood is something to feel in person..the bass could have been an earhquake. The tempo the drawn out perfectly clear, slowed timing brought everyone into the trance they played.
Its still absolutely great turned up..not meaning to brag..but HE AINT GOINN SOUTH..HE DID NOT GO SOUTH AFTER CRADLE..and
DID YOU EVER SEE HIM AFTER THAT!!!
Yes it a passionately wrong synopsis you think you have called out correctly..
you just don't know.
he is so addicted to playing that it is all but insane to those who have neurological complications (often from repetitive "work") and many others, who don't reach old age- and not get thru without. mean complications, for a life that was lived fully.
it's just insane for most folks with bad pain to push thru what likely inflamed it . I can see it tho. he never really stopped touring. or jamming at least. and recording with other greats. he admits he misses it..has said that often. I miss stuff..but only one dose EC can fix it.. pretty much.
God Bless Eric Clapton. He shares his stuff. + that's enough.
ChicagoBlues1952. a sharp dressed man turned casual. I kinda liked all black Armani. goes with a '70 all black coupe. incl vinyl up top + thick black upholstery.
cheers, + thanks for the great share!!
He looked great for years but wanted to die. Now he wears polo shirts and comfortable shoes and he's never looked happier so go figure
I love d intro wakes up my whole body hair amzing mr. Clapton Respect maaaan

Sensacional!!! Dois gênios da guitarra, incomparáveis!!!
Eric the love of my life😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks!!
Clapton Rocks!!!
This brings back memories!!!! I was at this concert at the Shoreline!!! I remember this was called his 25th Anniversary tour (I still have the program in mint condition!) Also, the opening band was Buckwheat Zydeco! Fantastic concert!!!
Jimmie scott Thx for the event info, helped me google the 1988 concert timeline. ↗️ 1988 25th ANNIVERSARY TOUR Eric Clapton (guitar/vocals), Nathan East (bass), Mark Knopfler (guitar), Alan Clark (keyboards), Steve Ferrone (drums), Tessa Niles (vocals - entire tour), Tracy Ackerman.
Buckwheat Zydeco was really fun which was totally unexpected for me. We knew EC would be great and WOW, was he. The whole night was amazing.
Thanks guys, I needed a lift tonight.
And Katie's backing vocals - Eric is at his best with strong female backing vocals
Nice retro good vibes😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I think EC plays a fine solo there on I shot the Sheriff. you hear his solo on the live versions, but not on the studio version. it builds in intensity, then he rounds it off with a proper cadence. I just think he is finely waxing his axe on that one.
Duas grandes estrelas com brilho próprio dividindo humildemente o mesmo palco...duas grandes almas!
I haven't watched this in a long time. This concert is on DVD and I have it.
This is great! Thank you.
Would love to see him in person. Maybe next on my bucket list.
love the intro infact i learned it very nice great guitarist another thing the tone of hes strat is amzing
love the opening STRUT! YAH-YAH!
Great duet with the same old blues bassist
Saw this show at The Palace Of Auburn Hills, Michigan 1988
Best version of crossroads
Sunshine of your love ending was intense.
EC perfect, always has been. Mark awesome!
I love you I'm from Milan italya brod
I LOVE IT❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉
When Eric Clapton got tired singing, his hands on guitar would continue the singing.
what an awesome intro and tone
多謝感激
Knopfler was not at home playing with Clapton's band, even though Alan Clark was there. That's clear. His performance is sub-par. I wish they had tried to take this collaboration a bit further. His Pensa Suhr was not sounding 'fat' enough like it did during the On Every Street tour. I guess that could be part of it. He is famous for being perfectionist, and perhaps he hasn't found his 'sound' for that tour with EC. If you take the Music for Montserrat gig, you can see that they've reached their best there. That show is remarkable.
immer Fantastik!
Vous êtes toujours formidable
Bonne chance et courage amem .
Amaizing!!Magical!
Thanks for sharing this. Caught this tour at the Royal Albert Hall, London. Excellent show.
Masters !
Excelente!!!!
the best of Eric's concert vids i have seen.
Nice
7:20 Whiteroom😂😂
Markknopflerのギターが入るとどうしても Dire straits っぽくなるけど、そのおかげでECの曲がめちゃくちゃ美しくなる✨
I Love lay down Sally in this
Katie kissoon Best vocals
Hot Back-Up Singers.
Keep perform the great videos! Hello from JVC
What year was this concert?
Un bonheur
Why Andy Fairweather not in line up ? He is really great player like Nathan East and Eric Clapton.
Sorry I missed you. Hope you stay healthy 💕 Please hang out for a while

Knopfler worked on the JJ Cale tribute album (2015). I think he's a studio man these days (producing and such).
Julie Stamper Mark Knoppfler was touring..did he stop for now?
Kat Masterson New MK album out Nov 16, 2018, Europe and North America tour 2019.
@@TREYOLDHIPPIE he was touring in 2019
i dont care what other guitarists say but for this style the strat is best guitar to play with it sounds perfect it has it all i think its d best guitar on planet and gibson too but still 4 me stratocasters r d best

This is certainly one of the better Layla solos. Clapton is in good form here. Sober I guess.

CREAM ! DAMN Blind Faith.😜😎🤩
osprey D40 agree totally compare his tone here with the tone on Derek and the Dominoes live at The Fillmore 1970 it was perfect then !
talking trees, lacquers on tha side, mustard too.
🔥❤️❤️🔥🌎❤️❤️🔥
i get feeling every bandmate could step in at any moment and carry tha whole crew thru a nor'easterner.
I never thought EC cared about commercial success. Otherwise he would have changed the world by now..he could have raked it in on the CROSSROADS Guitar charity Fests for Antigua rehab.
By SIMPLY releasing A e
3-4-5-6 Blu ray monster box..for each Fest. Dallas, Chicago 2x, (promised a 3rd..never came back?) and finally NYC. now he stays close to Cali home..and alternates gigs there only with NYC..lately now(June '18) he is surprisingly doing concerts close together in Europe. On the continent so far. But it may be a test..because what he has that's hurting him..won't allow exertion every other day..unless he did find the best of the best help..which is what we all hoped and prayed for. And not just selfishly..USA wants him to be able to do what he loves to do. rock on with the best blues /ever.
Kat Masterson
Kat Masterson he is doing two shows in NYC at MSG in Oct.
Kevin Gee I sure wish he would remember more than towns he can afford..MSG isn't cheap..nor are flights plus buses..and at least one night for $275 or bedbugs. and hot dogs get old.
He has to slow ddown. I am very familiar with peripheral and all other neuropathy. its exhausting and cruel.
I rely on rare great artists. EC is peaking and always first. I paid dumb fees for updates. I heard too late.
but I still think he has no clue about what he calls"Street People." We touch the ground.. he thinks we all can just buy and do anything
Too bad but his soundboard often beat most commercially sold music.
he is a great soul but he is not in touch. He even said he feels Japan has more class..Eric, you just insulted more fans than any other country will ever have. Respect?
a pin can drop in Chicago when you play your best. on the street? you look unidentifiable. I saw him get out of a car and walk into a side door..I almost missed my thanking him for his music. A mob was standing around and not far from me..not a- one ran over or hollered..that was after his concert. with 10 people in a compact car. who wudda thunk.
クラプトン若いです♪また日本に来てください。
God 🙏
As far as the issue of Clapton & Knopfler collaborating, I don't think they had a falling out.. still good friends... but late 80's mid-90's was an era, but all eras pass. Knopfler started doing a lot of 'solo' concerts, with great session musicians backing him, and he got to talk to the audiences a lot.. up front & personal.. for instance, there are some 'knock-you-dead' versions of Telegraph Road here at YT, and that's not a repertoire he would be doing as Clapton's 2nd guitar. Knopfler also has some wonderful vids here where he talks with various audiences about the development of his hammer-claw style of finger-picking. Recall, too: Knopfler took a break from 'rock' to record & do concerts with Chet Atkins before his death. That's not Clapton's style at all. Clapton is a great blues guitarist - Knopfler is a virtuoso guitar player (ain't no one gonna cut him down, any style) ..So, each followed a divergent path. BTW: I do agree with the comments about the tone of MK's Pen-Souza guitar - it just doesn't cut it. Even a clean sound needs a more throaty appeal in this context. Know what I mean?
😍👍💝💐🎶

makes me feel a wee bit younger,eh?
11:00 Markknopfler,guitar riff & Nathaneast,s Bass line is so beautiful😂✨
no substitue for Jack Bruce and Ginger Baker
Stating this was in San Francisco is totally incorrect, it was an hour south of San Francisco and right near San Jose at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View’.

I enjoy these versions w/no shrill "flag a riiiide" in the background
I love his voice! As soon as you hear it you know who it is.
I was once skating and the young man in charge of the music accompaniment played sunshine of your love and white room. I was flying around that rink!! It was fabulous
Gotta move my booty to this music 💖
Iron Butterfly de Linda de la vida que es mucho también quisiera música sobre las drogas
Slowhand is at his best especially with Mark at his side
I wish they didn't have the bass drum up so high in the mix. Sometimes it swamps everything. Sometimes it's louder than the guitar solos. :-(
En América teníais kvivir
