- Gun - live on Ray Cokes "Most Wanted" Recorded by me on BASF Vision E180 VHS videotape at SP, from analogue satellite receiver, start connected to VHS HiFi VCR.
Gun are a hard rock band from Glasgow, Scotland. The band currently consists of brothers Dante Gizzi (lead vocals) and Giuliano "Jools" Gizzi (guitar), along with Paul McManus (drums), Andy Carr (bass) and Tommy Gentry (guitar). Starting in 1989 with Taking on the World, Gun have released seven studio albums, three of which have made the UK Top 20, and had eight UK Top 40 hit singles. The most successful of these was a cover of Cameo's "Word Up!", which reached the top 10 in 1994.
Fronted by Mark Rankin for their first four albums, the band disbanded in 1997, but reformed in 2008 with Little Angels singer Toby Jepson taking over lead vocals. After recording a new EP in 2009, Jepson left the band the following year, and Dante Gizzi moved from bass to become Gun's new lead singer. With this new lineup, Gun released three more albums in the 2010s: Break the Silence (2012), Frantic (2015) and Favourite Pleasures (2017), which became their first top-20 album since 1994.
The band continues to tour and record, and recently celebrated their 30th anniversary in 2019 with a new compilation album, R3L0ADED, and a sold-out show at Glasgow's Barrowland Ballroom.

GUN ROCK ON!!!!!!!!!
Mark Rankine was superb
One of the most under rated acts in the rock word
Absolutely. I first saw them live at the QMU in Glasgow 1988, they were third on the bill, but head n shoulders above the other bands.
I wholeheartedly agree
Here, in Spain, we always loved them...
singer's Mark Rankin abilities to handle vocals in live situation are just outstanding! As good live as on records! Very talented singer in my opinion.
Couldn't agree more!
saw Gun a few times in the Rankin era,as you say one of the few vocalists who sounded as good live as on record
one of the best voices
yeah he's a killer singer... especially up high. the guy's got balls
Rankin was great and also missed. Since the uploader couldn't be arsed to write anything in the description and just copy and pasted from Wiki, anyone unfamiliar with the band will think it's Dante.
Saw the boys on this tour in a tiny Dundee club. I remember them being on late because they were watching the Italy world cup came on TV.
Rankin is a killer on this one. Awesome performance. 👍
"We don't play that kind of chord in this band." 😀
Glad I found this. 👏 👏 🙂
Yes. Mark knows how to sing!!!
what a tune.....miss the auld days
Great track ,great band.
Thanks for watching and commenting
Loved Mark Rankin
Yeah, Gun were never the same when he left the band.
This guy had pure stage presence. What a voice and he knows what to do in front of a camera, real shame he’s not singing anymore
10:05 word up
Always felt his voice had a very cool tone, love it that he sounds as good as on the record.
Yeah he had a good voice, the records still sound great
I love this band
Such a killer band, and Mark , truly outstanding frontman and singer , the live shows would have been amazing I bet - Thanks for the clip ,cheers frm NZ
Guitar bass drums...all you need
Thanks for watching and commenting Scott🎸
Love the Swagger album it kicks ass.
Great song, amazing band.
Quality , best tune on Swagger
Wow.
Can remember watching this performance live on MTV through a dodgy analogue satellite feed into my flat in the Paris suburbs half a lifetime ago. I think I still have the VHS tape somewhere too.
Thanks for posting.
Gallus indeed.
Glad you found and enjoyed this
I love this sooo much. ❤️
So glad that you found this and enjoyed it
First Gun song I ever heard. Great tune. How they thought they could ever carry on without Rankin is anyone's guess.
Their still going, did a few live streams recently
Best thing is Mark just singing “Yo pretty ladies” over a shittily played F#. 3 words, one voice, one chord, and it’s still beautiful.
GUN, un des meilleurs groupes injustement reléguer au second plan.
Awesome!!!
Thanks for watching and commenting
Круто! Орск слушает!
When they were a band....
Fucking brilliant boys
Oooh great! Big surprise! Didn't know they are Scottish band. Always thought they were American cuz they sounded like that upon release in '94. Ace! 👍🏻👍🏻
Even from 88 when I first saw them in Glasgow they had a more American sound. Thanks for watching and commenting Kevin
This is mega
Glad you enjoyed it
Great song , Good job
Mark should rejoin gun
It would be great to see, but will probably never happen.
Pure gallus
Oh a real fan 😎
@@ScottishTeeVee they from the Calton in Glasgow?
@@davidcartledge6620 As far as I know, they are from that area, I don't know that area very well, just via frequenting the Barrowland ballroom and the Barra's market which I used to love, decades ago.
@@ScottishTeeVee just found out they are, im from the area but don't know the guys
Bishopbriggs … Carlton originally from the Gizzi ice cream family;)
Get in touch as we know Maggie Cotter
Shame Rankin left…
What happened with Mark? I cant find nothing about him, not even an actual picture.
I think he’s a sound engineer/producer these days
Que fue de este cantante?
How could Mark Rankin quit music? What a waste of talent! Not many vocalists in his league...
Do u have The Gun performance from the first T in the park at Balado ?? They were the first Band I ever saw!! :P
By chance I was watching the first one last night, there's just a brief interview with Mark, , no live bits. I have loads more Gun video, so some will appear in time. In fact I filmed them at the QMU in Glasgow in 1989, they were third on the line up of bands that evening and had just signed their record deal.
There is a video from the first T in the Park from Strathclyde Country Park. Gun were on the Sunday. Great version of this song too.
@@RichardSmith-ew3xz thanks it's the Balado performance I'm after,thanks tho :D
They're a wanna be of Alice in chains and guns and roses all at the same time... Billy idol just seasoned it.
Lmao, did they actually practice the solos perform the performance....sounds awful
