Thanks for your great video. I would suggest a few supplement infos and hints I used after I just replaced my son's ice-watch battery. First my model was almost identical: the ice watch sun.nbe.u.s.13 and the original battery was a Sony SR626SW but as you mentioned in your video the 377 will do just fine (my replacement was an Energizer 377). Finally I would recommend using a watch-opening tool (cheap $10CDN on amazon) for opening by twisting instead of forcing to pop-off as shown. The thin black rubber gasket is also vital for water-proofing as some other commenters pointed out, mine fell-off and I had to re-insert carefully in the thread before closing the watch.
Hello on my icewathch ive got one seal on the watch itself, but you seem to have one on the stainless still cover = is it necessary to have both seals in order the watch to be perfectly waterproof ? Thx a lot
thanks for the tip, last time i had the battery changed by the jeweler, he gouged me 50euros (half the price of the watch) because he said he had to take care of a watertight ring , which actually does not exist .... be careful, the model i have (black one) must be unscrewed, an ordinary adjustable wrench did the trick for me
Great i changed my battery BUT it is a threaded back so would be better to use a watch removal tool rather than just forcing the threads apart thats my opinion anyway but cheers you just saved me money & hassle :-)
Hi. You make no reference tho the waterprooof seal on these watches. Should you not at least check the gasket, and change it if you are not sure that it still makes a perfect seal? Otherwise water may get in which would destroy the watch. So : (1) How do you go about measuring and deciding what size of gasket to get to resell the ice watch? (2) How do you then go about fitting the new gasket and replacing the back so that the closed watch is again waterproof?
Could not get the back off - have used the technique on a Casio which had 4 screws, also uses Renata 377. Like the ICE it is waterproof. Tried to get back of the ICE watch as per video but would not work. It needs a special tool to undo using the 6 indentations on the back and so had to take it a specialist watch repairer to replace the battery. So be careful and never ping out the battery - slide it to right cos its held on the left under a small lug.
Well you got to laugh. I spent ages trying to unscrew the back off to change the battery. About to give up, in frustration decided to look on UA-cam and this was the first video to come up. Its a "pop off back". The watch belonging to a relative looks like the same model in black not blue. On reassembly I added a smear of silcone grease to aid with the water proofing. Not that I think the watch is any more than splashproof anyway.
OMG, I just replaced my Ice Watch battery all by myself after I watched your video. Super easy and great instructions.
