One point on the Soundtoys Little Alter Boy Plugin, it works best with a monophonic source, polyphonic material like chords will result in noise. I like to stick Little Alter Boy in front of a reverb or delay on a FXs return. I got a give shout out to the Eventide Octavox plugin, try it on a conga loop!
