I always love to see how this movie tends to generate similar enthusiastic reactions in first time viewers. I distinctly remember the day I watched Pulp Fiction in 1996 together with one of my closest friends in a small theater for movie enthusiasts in my city. We were in high school at the time and I went in basically 'blind': I didn't know anything about Pulp Fiction in advance nor had I watched any other Tarantino movie before. At the end we were both flabbergasted and we couldn't stop quoting the script of some of the funniest scenes (which also happen to be some of the most violent, since the movie oozes this unforgettable dark humor). The top notch writing, with brilliant and colorful small talks, the non-linear narration and the surreal situations all converge to make the movie almost impossible to forget.
Mia's cancelled TV show "Fox Force Five" is the base for Quentin Tarantino's movie "Kill Bill", also starring Uma Thurman as the lead actress. While Mia said her speciality was knives, in Kill Bill, Uma's character's speciality is swords.
When this movie came out, a friend of mine and I saw it seven times in the theater. We were obsessed, we actually entered an online contest (something new at the time) by answering random questions. My friend got all the answers right and won a VHS that included all the cut scenes. One of them is when Vincent arrives at Mia's house and before she introduces herself, she starts asking him random questions into the microphone. Yes, you got it, they were the same questions that we answered online in the contest, the answers that my friend gave were the same ones that Vincent gave in that scene, that's why he won the prize.
Yeah I love the vhs tape scene. Sometimes they dont know it only in live tv in the few seconds where they have to cut out mia on the floor overdosing and vince finding her half dead. What many don't know is that It was actually her interrogating him without him knowing it. You can tell how she gets to know him by his answers, from the Archie comics she asks him is he likes Betty or Veronica, cute or sexy, and he chose Betty revealing his type of girl, hence her being giggly and kinda bright on her answers through'out the "date", seducing him, testing his loyalty towards marcellus. Pretty genius to me, she's the same as her husband.
According to Quitan, they stole the trophy. And yeah, heroin goes in balloons and cocaine goes in bags. Mia thought it was coke. Nobody puts heroin in bags.
34:00 This is one of my favourite lines in cinematic history, which I use on a fairly regular basis when someone (particularly at work) starts celebrating something that has yet to be fully accomplished. Also, it's just hilarious... 🤣🤣🤣
This is now my favourite reaction of all time. Dude, you and “The Homies”have an incredible chemistry! Please collaborate more!! Just great! Happy New Year from South Australia! PS. Don’t worry about the world ending today it’s already tomorrow in Australia!
I saw Pulp Fiction in the theater when it came out, and I had to buy another ticket to see it again during the late showing. My reaction was similar to yours! Thanks for that!
Sorta obligatory info on the overdose scene - Mia reached into Vince's jacket and grabbed what she thought was a bag of coke, when it was actually the heroin he bought earlier, which is why the od happened.
Friend: "Have you already seen Pulp Fiction? NO? WHAT? GO TO THE MOVIES! It's THE SHIT!!!" How I came to the movie in 1994. Literally. Always fun to see how it still is THE SHIT.
Blue got the "you've both been to County before, here it comes!" (spray hose) reference. Good job- it's one of the funniest lines in that scene, but kind of an American term.
She thought he said "Canada." So she must have thought it was a reference to the water being cold. Instead of it being a reference to being hosed clean in county jail.
My cousin was in this movie and the mask his name is peter green he goes from being zed to bishop the other guy besides Jim Carrey that puts on the mask
The most common belief about the briefcase is that it contained Marcellus’s soul. That’s why it glows. Apparently the soul can be extracted through the back of the neck, hence the bandaid.
I always thought that as well. But after the 100th viewing you start to question that theory. Like, who is the Devil he made a deal with? I later switched the idea to Marcellus Wallace being the Devil people made deals with, and it is Jules soul contract he gets back in the briefcase, he wants out of the killing job and that's why he is spared (the bullet miracle), which makes him follow through with quitting.
So, I actually went to see this movie at the theatre when it came out, and two funny things happened. First off, when Vincent shot Marvin in the face, EVERYONE in the theatre, including my violence-averse girlfriend, burst out laughing... but only for about three seconds. Then we all looked at each other in shock, thought "WTF are we laughing at?" and shut up, almost simutaneously. It was, as they say, a moment... The next day, I went straight out and bought the soundtrack CD. I came home, put it on the player and dragged my mum in to hear it, saying, "Oh my God you have GOT to listen to this amazing theme tune!" Ten seconds in, she turned around to me and said, "heard it." She then explained that, thirty-two years previously, my uncle had rushed into the house, put a record on the player and dragged her in to listen to it, saying, "Oh my God you have GOT to listen to this amazing tune!" Same tune: Misirlou, by Dick Dale and the Del-Tones, 1962...
I was still laughing 5 minutes later after Marvin got shot in the face when watching this in the cinema. Don't know why but just thought it was fkn hilarious.
What I always found interesting, I have no idea how many times I have watched but it's a lot. But to me the storyline actually begins YEARS before what we're seeing. When little Butch gets the gold watch that is the beginning of the storyline. And the actual end happens when Butch and his girlfriend ride off on the motorcycle. Y'all spoke of Kill Bill. OMG, they are insanely good. As we say here in Texas; Y'all be safe!!
You’ve always been The Hoodie Queen since the beginning, Blue. Now, if you wanna experience the best movie Tarantino ever worked on, you seriously gotta checkout True Romance. He only wrote it, he didn’t direct, but IMO it is the very best thing he’s ever done. I know the name “True Romance” sounds kinda cheesy, but trust me, this movie brings it in every way. Oh yeah, but it’s gotta be the Director’s Cut, the background music just flows better, and the extra dialogue really makes better sense of everything. 💙
True Romance is not the "best movie he ever worked on", that's ridiculous. It's a lot of fun, but the direction is nowhere near as good as his own style. Get some taste. The fact that you find the title "cheesy" just shows what a limited person you are, holy fuck.
The briefcase was a textbook "MacGuffin", added by the writers Roger Avary and Tarantino. The giveaway that it is Not Marsellus' soul (as some guess) is at the end when 'Pumpkin' (Tim Roth) sees it and says, "Is that what I think it is?" Additionally, about the briefcase, Pulp Fiction writer Avary said this: *"Originally the briefcase contained diamonds. But that just seemed too boring and predictable. So it was decided that the contents of the briefcase were never to be seen. This way each audience member would fill in the blank with their own ultimate contents. All you were supposed to know was that it was "so beautiful." No prop master can come up with something better than each individual's imagination. At least that was the original idea. Then somebody had the bright idea (which I think was a mistake) of putting an orange lightbulb in there."* So clearly (as done by Many artists of many mediums), the audience / fan / viewer, is given the opportunity to use their imagination- so the "object" is not anything but your own imagination. So let it be whatever you want it to be, but I have add that if it is something that a random little crook (like Pumpkin) can see and recognize, it wasn't a soul pulled from Marsellus' neck. ✌🏼
Zed was a security guard - so not a sheriff. Christ. I remember seeing this at a sneak preview and when Travolta got shot I leaned over to my friend and said "O man there's gonna be a riot; they put the reels in the wrong order!" Epic Tarantino - his masterpiece. Get out of the goddamn habit of saying 'well it's an old movie' that has nothing to do with a quality movie!
Such a classic movie, and in the running for Tarantino's best. Also, for anyone who watches Ted Lasso, these two are giving me serious "young Rebecca and Sassy" vibes.
The, idea behind the suitcase was that it contains Marselleus's Soul he made a deal with the devil or something along those lines basically making him one of the baddest kingpins around, the bandage on the back of Marselleus's neck is where is Soul was taken from.
Yeah, I hear that a Lot, that theory is wrong. The briefcase was a textbook "MacGuffin", added by the writers Roger Avary and Tarantino. This was the first R-Rated movie I went to with a friend the same age at the cinema. We were both 17. You're making me feel elderly Trixy by calling it, "old movie" but in your defense I don't think you were even born yet.
I thought Blue had seen this before. It seems like I remember her talking about having the internal debate with herself like Vincent has in front of the mirror.
Mia and Vince didn't win the trophy. Later, when Butch is sneaking up to his apartment to get his watch, you can hear a radio tell how the trophy had been stolen.
i just watch this film, it's so good.... at the end jules said to vincent " that he wants to be kind and exploring the earth.... and 20 years later booomm ......he became nick fury that exploring the earth to search the avengers members.....lol, sorry for my bad english
The Restaurant where the holdup happens is very close to my house. It's an old diner attatched to an old motel that was popular until they put in Interstate 5 which redirected traffic away from HISTORIC ROUTE 99 where the hotel is located in Sun Valley, CA. I remeber it before they closed it and a production company purchased the whole property and it is now a permanet movie set were they film all the time. The pool at THE PINK MOTEL is featured in a very famous Tony Hawk video when he was very young. The amount of All time best movies with a scene filmed there would be too numerous to list. Also, right across The Tujunga Wash (Seasonal River) there is an abandoned rock quarry that I recently found out is a movie set purchased for Star Wars productions. Pink Motel is somewhat acessable (They often block part of the street during exterior shots), however the quarry site is WAY TOO DEEP to see any filming..
I don't think they would like it as much just because its harder to really understand the brilliance when English is your second language. Even though they speak it really well I think they wouldn't understand why some of the dialogue is as funny as it is
Vincent and Mia didn't actually win the dance contest. When Butch is going back to his apartment you can hear about the trophy being stolen on the radio.
You are very beautiful and funny girls!!! I liked your reaction to Quentin Tarantino's film, I really like his films and I'm looking forward to his 10th last film that he will shoot.
30:33 I enjoy that Europeans are less touchy about simply including a scene with the "N" word in it. Tarantino's performance is hilarious here and most reactors redact it pretty much entirely. 🤔😂
Totally agree. In general, his first three films are his best. His first two are the most "consequential", "Pulp Fiction" being the most influential......but "Jackie Brown" is his tightest film with the most rewatchability. It's the only one of his films that gets better each time you see it.
There are 2 types of people; one type likes Pulp Fiction (and they're kinda cool) the other type doesn't like Pulp Fiction (and they're also kinda cool). I fall into the second category.
i think, jules was the shepherd, vince the weak, marselus the tyrany of evil men, karl the selfish,(redeemed himself with the mia situation) butch the furious anger, the pawn shop incident the great vengance
Ellie&Blue, together again; what a great holidaze treat! PFiction is a classic, and it's surprising that you 2 understood so many total American referents/slang. IMO, this film is much better than KillBill, but Ellie is so seldom wrong...
This was a GREAT reaction! (Except - this is not an "old movie". Film has been around for over 110 years at this point. Something less than thirty years old is not remotely "old". Especially since the style and sensibility of nineties filmmaking is so close to today's, especially when compared to, say, the 1950s vs. the 1970s. Film changes much less over a few years than, say, music does. It's almost shocking how long ago it is, but it is not "old".) The last few minutes really do remind me of my own reaction on first seeing Pulp. There were probably three films (maybe four) which I saw while at college which truly blew my mind, left me in awe and spinning (mentally and possibly physically). And this one - seen in its release year, in my campus theater; I must have been twenty years old - was the most impactful of all. Trixie, your post-viewing reaction - including "because - this is like the best movie I've ever seen, honestly!" - takes me right back there. Thank you, and welcome to the club : )
Film school is just a way to keep people out of the industry. I was an editor I never had film school. Film school doesn’t get you a job its how much coke you do with the right people. There are probably a ton of Tarantino out there and will never get that opportunity. I watched an editor create the biggest trailer house in Hollywood. How did he do it? He stabbed his friends in the back did coke with the right people, stole clients and now he owns Buddha Jones and produced Fall. I called him a selfish piece of white sh*t. Which is the reason why I don’t work for him or in Hollywood anymore. But those don’t make interesting stories people like smiles and coke induced “enthusiasm.” Like I said lots of Tarantinos out there…lot of ‘em that will never get that opportunity.
Travolta character is Vincent Vega, brother of Vic Vega -MR. Blonde - in the movie reservoir Dogs!!😮 Ur next 2 Tarantino movies should be, True Romance,(he wrote based loosely on his fantasy life when he was a video store clerk!😮) Then next u should watch his first feature, Reservoir Dogs! There is zero to get or understand from this movie, other than it being a masterclass in script writing, storytelling, and character development. Travolta...from Welcome Back Kotter, to all his movies into the 2000s, he was a sure shot dancer, somewhere in the movie or TV show! Eric stolz, the drug dealer, original Marty in, back to the Future! Also in Wild Life, and a truly cult classic, the Christopher Walken The Prophecy, movie! Before this, Tarantino had writing credits in, dusk till dawn, and the fantasy self bio flick crazy, true romance, then his first ...and best ...fully written and directed film, reservoir Dogs! U will see many of his fave actors used over and over! Pulp fiction uses, buddy holly, Wolf, and others, from reservoir Dogs! This film to me, is an homage to Sonnenfeld, Kubrick films. Particularly The Killing, and Dr Strangelove, and also the first, Men in Black! Pro tip.... Vince Vega is Vic Vega brother from, reservoir dogs! Yeah u got a bit of Uma about u! Pro tip...the robber, tim Roth, also in Hateful 8, and did a film a few years ago with Uma, as married, drug addicted, booze addled, by chance international spies, and it was a fantastic movie! Here's the genius of Tarantino films. The hallway scene here. They are talking. Not in character, not as actors, a couple guys talking. Out of character. But a camera and a mic is Rollin! In reservoir dogs, the Breakfast scene. It's actors, in dress, out of character, just talking. About whatever shit. This is the brilliance of a Tarantino throw off, scene! Travolta...from Welcome Back Kotter, to all his movies into the 2000s, he was a sure shot dancer, somewhere in the movie or TV show! Eric stolz, the drug dealer, original Marty in, back to the Future! Also in Wild Life, and a truly cult classic, the Christopher Walken The Prophecy, movie!! Tarantino is the home owner. He usually puts himself in his movies. And did a short couple stints, in the Jennifer Garner spy, TV show!!!
Of course there is also Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds. Love those because I love Christopher Waltz and they are great historical fantasies. Reservoir Dogs is a classic but I don't feel a need to see it again. Possibly his most disturbing movie.
I just LOVE watching younger generations watching Pulp Fiction for the 1st time & getting excited when they see the 'Confused Vincent looking around' meme. Cutest reaction video on UA-cam ever. 😆

Watching somebody trying to ruin it even though they know when the good parts are coming up
The Dance they were doing was a 1960s dance -- "The Twist" in a 50s theme restaurant with 50s and 60s characters.

Trixy and Ellie together! Two of my favorites! I love the reaction to the surf guitar.

Fantastic reaction. You two have such great energy ... and such great ears!!

Popular theory is that the Marsalus soul was in the brief case and that's why he had a bandage on his neck.
Marcellus sold his soul to the devil, hence the combination for the briefcase was 666

3:00 - This should become a meme: "Conversation: It's like a soothing podcast."
Seeing you two watch this a film with Harvey Keitel makes me think of the movie Thelma and Louise, but Death proof is also something to see.
25:35, Blue needs to watch lock stock and 2 smoking barrels 🤣🤣
Mia and Vince didn't win the trophy. Later, when Butch is sneaking up to his apartment to get his watch, you can hear a radio tell how the trophy had been stolen.
What!? That's crazy. I never knew that. There are so many intricacies in this film.
@@sman7099 Well, it's a rumor.
In Saturday Night Fever, Travolta was given a dance trophy he didn't win. In Pulp Fiction, Travolta steals a trophy he didn't win.
Just when i thought Ellie could not be any more adorable, here come the ears... Soooo cuuuute!! love this movie, glad i could rewatch it with you tow!
Ellies look at 24:10 tells you everything 😄

One of Quinton's best works, is also his most overlooked. - you all will love Four Rooms.
Pulp Fiction was my first QT movie and the one I have probably watched the most, but Jackie Brown is my favorite. Would love to see you do a reaction.
That diner wasn't the Pink Motel. It was in Hawthorne and it got torn down years ago.
Trixie and Ellie are good team. Keep it up. This movie is full of all kind of eggs
Oh wow! This oughta be interesting… Blue has never seen Pulp Fiction lol 😂
Pulp Fiction is a brilliant movie. If you loved this I recommend The Big Lebowski. It's not Tarantino but it is in a similar vein.
Cohen Brother movies rock. (Fargo, O' brother where art thou, The Big Lebowski)
I don't think they would like it as much just because its harder to really understand the brilliance when English is your second language. Even though they speak it really well I think they wouldn't understand why some of the dialogue is as funny as it is
Pulp Fiction is still the best Tarantino IMHO
Vincent and Mia didn't actually win the dance contest. When Butch is going back to his apartment you can hear about the trophy being stolen on the radio.
You are very beautiful and funny girls!!! I liked your reaction to Quentin Tarantino's film, I really like his films and I'm looking forward to his 10th last film that he will shoot.
One of the best movies of all time. That's FACT
30:33 I enjoy that Europeans are less touchy about simply including a scene with the "N" word in it.
Tarantino's performance is hilarious here and most reactors redact it pretty much entirely. 🤔😂
*Jackie Brown* is still my favorite Tarantino movie, but it was fun watching you guys watch this.
Totally agree. In general, his first three films are his best. His first two are the most "consequential", "Pulp Fiction" being the most influential......but "Jackie Brown" is his tightest film with the most rewatchability. It's the only one of his films that gets better each time you see it.
Hi, is jackie brown as good as " Harry Brown (2009 film)?
Jules sold his soul, to gain more power,, hence the bandage on back of Jules neck. The brief case carried Jules soul. Hence the 666 combination.
Ms. Blue: I want to go to Amsterdam
Me: Norther California has better smoke. 💚💚(that goes for you too, Ellie )
Me: In Canada, it's more legal than it is in Amsterdam.
Wow! Ultimate team up reaction!

Ellie&Blue, together again; what a great holidaze treat!
PFiction is a classic, and it's surprising that you 2 understood so many total American referents/slang. IMO, this film is much better than KillBill, but Ellie is so seldom wrong...
25:49 is when you're thinking "what the hell kind of film is this?"
I love 220 km free delivery. On Mc Donald's.
I love when blue throws it back
Awww So Cool it’s you2❤️🤩🥳
Is amazing how far Tarantino has gotten without going to film school
Especially considering how much this movie is worshipped by so many people… Pulp Fiction is one of the most overrated movies ever
So as Kubrick
He did a good route. Love films first, watch a hell lot of them and make your own as soon as you can.
@@nsasupporter7557 only a moron would say that lol. Marvel movies are probably better for you.
First time I see ellie and trixie together.good choice of movies..lol
Thats Tarantino himself (30:50) the director of the movie:)
a great movie, and thanks for the good reaction
I’m confused. You said welcome back to the Homies but this is on Trixies channel 😋 lol
Fun Lovin' Criminals - Scooby Snacks
Of course there is also Django Unchained and Inglorious Basterds. Love those because I love Christopher Waltz and they are great historical fantasies. Reservoir Dogs is a classic but I don't feel a need to see it again. Possibly his most disturbing movie.
Mia thought she was snorting cocaine but it was heroine.
