lol I moved backward when I did this.. it's so tricky
+Xantia Askandar put your weight in front
Same here
🤔🤔🤔🤔
Thanks for the clear demonstration!
As a beginner I really appreciate this video!
This is the best tic tac tutorial I've seen thus far. I can actually see where you're pushing into the board to create the motion. thanks for the freezeframes .
Great way of breaking it down. Where the body weight is IS important. This is one of the better tutorials on tic tac I've seen.
Thanks!!
NOLLIE SKATEBOARDING I tried it again today with a new skateboard build. I've only skated longboards and started that this summer. I'm moving backwards and my weight is consistently not centered. After an hour, I could not more forward without pushing and tic tacking cause me to stop more than go. So, I'm watching the video again and again. What i notice is my body is not moving the board with momentum. I didn't catch the part fully on weight distribution. I should try shifting it forward. The other thing is for a second or two it seems the weight is up until the right transition for propelling the board. I'll need to examine this.
John LaFosse Thanks a lot! Going backward and not going forward are common things happens at first. Adding forward power to your board in right timing is important part. You can add forward power when you put your front wheels on ground and when pull front wheels up from ground. It takes a bit time to go forward but you will get it pretty soon and once you get it, you pretty much get tick-tack:D Good luck! Sorry for the English btw... I should work harder to make better explanation in English...
No worries. Thanks for the advice. I'm going to spend most of the week on skating in a figure 8 pattern. This will improve my turns and get me comfortable with standing on the board. A few times this afternoon I felt I was getting it. I will practice. Understanding tick-tack will make skating much more fun.
John LaFosse ITs boby weight
I think I'm starting to understand that it's not just pivoting from side to side, but pushing yourself a little more side to side. Kind of like skating on ice.
thats a good way to think about it!
Thank you for actually describing the movements involved :D
I ride goofy so it’s really hard for me to move my body weight back to the left side without falling off
Wow never seen this much detailed and scientific lesson ! Thanks ! You are under appreciated obviously
Thanks guys.....this will help me a lot
Amazing! I finally found the term how this acceleration method is called :)
Tick-tack the predecessor to pumping
It took me 3 minutes to learn 👍 an easy trick for beginners (like myself)
@@gorillagripcoochie631 your username hurt me
Ranity I’m sorry lmao I made it when I was 9🙈
@@gorillagripcoochie631 it's ok 😔✌
3 days practicing it and only going backwards, tell me your secret
It took me more than watching and re-watching this video 😅 I could kind of do this clumsily on my first day but I think I will need another three weeks to do this efficiently with thinking consciously 😅
really good video subscribing
it's 10:30pm on a school night and im outside alone trying to learn this it's so hard and for what bye at least im not going backward anymore
edit: nvm im going backward again
edit 2: no wait hold on im kinda getting better 😳✋
edit 3: damn im literally so good 😩😩
@CanisLupusAlbus as u should hey bestie
Good video.
Does the motion have to be as fast as you depict it? It think committing to that kind of speed is what's not letting me learn.
Who else is twisting their shoulders back and forth while watching this?
Bruh what song is that, awsome vid
Lol this was the only way I could ride my board for a while. Pushing was awkward due to a knee injury
Can i use tick-tack for turning the board?
Thanks for your question! Yes, you can use tick-tack to turning board. You don not need many swings as tick-tack. Maybe 1 or 2 swings should be enough. You can easily do it if you can do tick-tack.
NOLLIE SKATEBOARDING Cool thank you guys :)
Any chances for tricks like rock to fakie?
So Let me get it, I step at the nose from the back and move my shoulders Right Left and step at the front nose? or did I mess it up
You can just focus on swinging nose and push your board to forward when front wheels touches on ground.
@@nollieskateboarding Oh okay thank you that helped alot
I don’t get it I keep on going backward
My front foot usually either slides outward or up the board when I tick-tac and I have no idea why.
I either don’t move or my weight mostly goes to my back foot and I fall off
Who needs roller skates when you got a skatebord
Is there a way to prevent the board from shooting forward? Fell on my ass a few times
It might be because the body isn't centered above the skateboard. Putting too much weight on back foot can make the skateboard shoot forward.
Try leaning more forward and maybe putting your foot more up, Usually ts because you have to much of your weight focused on the back of the board causing you to slide under it
goofys being like: ah yes
Do you need a completely flat surface to practice this?
Technically no but basically, yes.
Every time i put the nose on the ground i stop
My mind does not make me move left lol😁
I did this in my house I flew off my board landed on the sofa and I landed on the dam floor
heh this is like the street version of Long distance pumping
boby weight
上手すぎなーw
I'm a goofy style and it so hard to do tick tack to the right side. I feel like I'll fall. What to do??
Spencer Nuzzi's a goofy also. Watch his Skateboarding 101 video it'll help you.
Yeah same here. I'm regular and it's so hard to the left. Scary too.
Tik tak bom
คลิปนี้ทำให้ฉันเล่นเป็น
i cant do this for the life of me
If you cant do it know tighten your trucks and pick up your board a little bit each stride increase the stride until you do it I skate tight trucks cause I use Tic tacs to turn but don't make your board unturnable
boby weight xd
WHO ARE HERE BECAUSE CORONA ?!?
Boby movement 😂😂
"It doesn't count if you're moving..." Count what? Fingers? Pennies? Boogers? How stupid.
Now, now! Is that the way you talk to the guy that makes your mom oh-so very happy? Go to your room!
M Gentry You're a stupid pedant and you're not funny
It doesnt qualify as a proper tic tac, dummy. Youre just cruising and kick turning back and forth.
Kind of useless tutorial this is to easy
