How would recommend treating cystic acne that keeps coming back on brown skin ?

    What about the CeraVe cleansers?

I may make this its own YT category. I’m not sure if CeraVe cleansers got a bad wrap or if people got turned off by the derms promoting it so heavy for money 👀🤔

I damaged my skin barrier and healed it with a gentle skin care routine. The stinging burning and itchy skin stopped but now I think I have dehydrated skin. I’m left with enlarged pores and texture. Is this still a sign of a damaged barrier?

It’s more of a sign that you may have oily skin. But it will depend on how long you went through the healing process. If your skin is dehydrated, it will feel tight and look dull. You may have some flaking. If you look closely at your forehead and pinch it and there are fine lines or it looks like dry land in the desert. Since your barrier has healed, try slowly introducing back in a gentle salicylic (1% or less concentration) or mandelic acid toner into your routine 1-2x a week. You’ll have more control and it won’t be as concentrated. Then a peptide serum will help add hydration back before your moisturizer. On the days you are not using the treatment toner, use a hydrating toner. If you experience any stinging from the salicylic or mandelic, then your barrier may still be damaged.
