I saw a few comments that I agree with about using a basket, especially the ones with the floats on them. Use a short length of string/rope and using good tight knots, tie one end to the basket and the other to a carabiner. The idea of attaching a float to the stringer was ultimately a very good idea as well.
I have lost a couple of stringers myself, and started using a collapsible basket with a carabiner, so I didn't have to depend on my knot tying. But I'm glad you found that stringer.
You two have created such a wonderful show. I thoroughly enjoy watching you both having so much fun. Thank you so much for the hours of pleasure you have given me.
Get a small boat type cleat to type the end of the stringer to. About 2-3 inch long. About the size that you would use with a bamboo roll up curtain on a pouch or patio. Get it at Lowes .👍😎
One way to potentially eliminate the possibility of losing the stringer is eliminate the stringer and use a wire basket. Just a thought. Always good to see a crappie video.
Jay caring for children instead of enjoying fishing makes me more proud of her integrity. Her editing skills i enjoy as i miss her smiling eyes. Best to family. Time flies in change. To the future!
😮😮😮😮😮 When you went to put that SLAB DONKEY on your stringer, I almost had a fit, because I didn't see the stringer😮😮😮. So glad you found it. Maybe you should have Jay with you 😏😉😊😂😂
I thought that was YOU out there! (Too cold for this old body to be launching my 'Yak, in that kinda weather - and That early in the mornin'...!)..Lol Glad ya got some more Crappie, 'cause I didn't get ANY, across at Gold Creek Channel on Saturday. Water's up nearly a FOOT, though.
Now your lakes being drained, I guess you can bury the heads for your garden. Make sure to try some white pepper in your breading. That blaze orange looks like a great idea in case something happens! 👍
Theres a simple knot, even used in crocheting. It's strong and secure as long as the fish end or boat end were pulled. The free end, pull or snatch it easily comes undone.
Man you were blessed you got those fish back. Those strings aren't the way to go when you are trolling them in the water. They can catch on a log or something and tear off. Man find you a new way💯💯💯💯💯💯💯👍🏾
I have been thinking in last two incidents when you were going to lose stringer :-)....too easy to slide off but you had float which was good...glad you found it. Great fishing!
Cole, get a basket, it will save time by not having to untie and retie the stringer, plus the fish don't die because stringer isn't .through the gills.😊 Can't believe a pro like you doesn't have one to use on your kayak.
Please try this. Just like tying your shoes, there's the initial crossing of the laces, then you tie the bo's. OK, only difference is, instead of crossing the two, you loop the loose or tag end of the line, then pull the lack out. It's very strong. Pull another vehicle anything else. But to release the knot, just pull or snatch the loose or tag end. No untying or anything. Just pull the loose end, put fish on, then repeat the knot. So simple so convenient. Let me say it another way. Take your string, make a loop, feed the loop through the eye of whatever you are tying it to in your boat, take the loop on the otherside and loop it around the long side where the fish are. Pull the slack out. Very simple, but such a sweet knot. No untying, just pull the loose end. As crocheting, you can make multiple loops. In fact, if Granny has done any crocheting, knitting or such, see if she can't help you with it.
Its starting to get cold here in the west the Crappies / Bluegill slowing down in my river spots so I'm going to break out my new Trout Magnet bundle on my trout lake here makes it nice to see you braving the cold it helps me go out and try my luck, it looks like its getting too cold for Jay to go out and try to make a Day 3 video trying to make Walleyes bite but it would be nice if you and Joshua try to fill your freezer with Walleyes for Jay. Good luck on whatever fishing adventures you bring us in the future.
The thing about these vids that I hate is the fact. That I am not there,,, I am hungry all the time I see these vids.......great vid,,, only bad thing is I not there to eat the fish....keep up good work...
Glad you found your fish. I actually prefer my fish frozen in water over the vacuumed sealed. I have done it both ways. Lol. I guess everyone has their opinion. Great video.
Hey cole, perhaps a cold/hot bag with ice in it would work for you in lieu of a stringer. Here is Mississippi there are too may alligators to comfortably use a stringer.
I got a suggestion. Why don't you get a carabiner tie it on real good and tight onto the thing you're using for a stringer. Then all you got to do is open. The Caribbean unhook it off the rope, put it through the gills and you hook it back up again. You got the other way. You got a tie a knot untie. The knot takes a lot of time. You could be fishing another fish lol. That's all I got to say about that except say hello to Blondie
When i put my fish on the stringer, I put the ‘needle’ portion through their bottom jaw twice. Through the thin skin. And I have float tied on the end loop like you do. My stringer slipped off my kayak but I found the float and stringer with all the fish still on the stringer. I tried the carabiner on my Kayak but it didn’t work well for me.
😂😂😂😂 I'm only laughing because in my teenage years I lost more stringers than I could count and three or four times I'm sure had my personal best on there and nobody when I told them what I had would believe me😂😂😂😂
Lemme Guess, Cole… before I even watch this… did you lose another stringer of fish? 😂 I’ve been rigging tie downs and cleats today on my new kayak because of this very reason!!!! How funny. 😂
I think I know somewhere that causes a slabby. Patty, I don't know who that could be. You better not eat all of them a little squirts are probably hungry too
If fish prices are anything like they are in Detroit, I hope that he’s keeping and freezing 😬. One single crappie the size of his is priced at $17.00. 10 bluegill will run about $40.00. That’s why I fish until our lakes freeze. I’m well stocked 💕.
I know your crappie fishing... but man that looks like a great place n time of day to use a Jitter Bug,,, for bass,,, i have never seen you n Jay use a jitter bug on any of your shows,, just saying
@@COLE_and_JAY I know Arkansas but the headline said Louisiana Style. Oh I see. Didn’t mean to put you’re in Louisiana. It was supposed to be just In Louisiana. Sorry about that.
Would’ve loved to see Granny and Jay enjoying some fish.

So glad you were able to find the fish whew. Hope Jay and Granny enjoyed the slabs.

When you gonna take Granny fishing? I bet she would have a blast!❤ Lots of prayers for y’all! Love and blessings from this old Bama girl!❤❤❤

A floating basket.
And tie the knot tight.
Jay caring for children instead of enjoying fishing makes me more proud of her integrity. Her editing skills i enjoy as i miss her smiling eyes. Best to family. Time flies in change. To the future!
Hi Cole, Jay, Cyprus and Summer. Another great fishing video. Nice fish Oops. Glad you got it back and still have fish on. God bless and love yall ❤❤
😮😮😮😮😮 When you went to put that SLAB DONKEY on your stringer, I almost had a fit, because I didn't see the stringer😮😮😮. So glad you found it. Maybe you should have Jay with you 😏😉😊😂😂
I am so glad that You found the stringer Cole that would have been a disaster. I like the idea of having a float on it. Great Job
My dad and I lost a redfish on a stringer like that one time. It was a comedy of errors. 😂
Glad you found fish
I thought that was YOU out there!
(Too cold for this old body to be launching my 'Yak, in that kinda weather - and That early in the mornin'...!)..Lol
Glad ya got some more Crappie, 'cause I didn't get ANY, across at Gold Creek Channel on Saturday. Water's up nearly a FOOT, though.
I’d attach a carabiner to the yak. Put a loop in your stringer about a foot from the end then you can just click it on and off fast n easy
That’s how I do it too
Try a different knot on your stringer cole if you have to put a dog runner hook on it will slide right through the gill plate no problems
Now your lakes being drained, I guess you can bury the heads for your garden.
Make sure to try some white pepper in your breading.
That blaze orange looks like a great idea in case something happens! 👍
Put a clip on the stringer to clip it onto itself instead of tying it. Glad you found them.
Theres a simple knot, even used in crocheting. It's strong and secure as long as the fish end or boat end were pulled. The free end, pull or snatch it easily comes undone.

Put a little caribiner on your stringer. That lets you loop it around a fixture and is totally easy to remove to add fish.
Wow! Those were some good looking fillets! Hungry now!
Nice to finally meet you.. Hope the pelican video is awesome... Met at 89👍

That was amazing that you found that. You caught alot of nice fish.
I like using a small basket
Please try this.

unbelievable! lesson learned for me also.

This time of year is miserable. Dark, wet ,cold . We have snow in Michigan .
So it’s about like your May right now. It’s even mild for us right now.

❤thanks for another great podcast,miss u jj😊
Cole, you need you a zig zag cleat for your stringer on you kayak
Gonna have to get bucket or an ice chest or............ maybe some knot tying lessons. LOL😂
Hey cole, perhaps a cold/hot bag with ice in it would work for you in lieu of a stringer. Here is Mississippi there are too may alligators to comfortably use a stringer.
use a carabiner on your boat/kayak and a loop on your stringer
That was crazy when you lost the stringer. I use a chain stringer so I can hook it on my kayak and it will never come off.
I got a suggestion. Why don't you get a carabiner tie it on real good and tight onto the thing you're using for a stringer. Then all you got to do is open. Great structure wonderful batch and video Cole 👍👍
You throw alot of good Fish back.. Poor Crappy are Doomed if you Catch them.😄
Hey dude, you need to get a thump net! It works really good in a kayak! Way better than using a stringer..
I actually have one I need to bust it out!
Ya Cher, dat Chrystal is Louisiana!!!
Another banger vid mate, always good to see you out there enjoying the waters, pity about the stringer issues haha
When i put my fish on the stringer, I put the ‘needle’ portion through their bottom jaw twice. Through the thin skin. And I have float tied on the end loop like you do. youre jigging with a float are you running it back to the boat slowly and using the float to keep a steady depth?
I always drench my food in hot sauce, but i have a high tolerance to spice lol
My son caught a 30 in, 9.85 pound bowfin a couple days ago. I know yall like to fish for em, so I thought I share that. Wish I could send you a pic.
Why don't you use one of those floating baskets? I know they have some that are rubberized and collapse down and the classic metal ones.
Tôi rất thích bạn câu cá, thật tuyệt vời tôi rất thích, chúc bạn luôn bình an may mắn trong cuộc sống 🇻🇳🇻🇳🇻🇳
Good job
Are you still on home lake just wondering if there is still that much water there
I’m just gonna stop fishing and stalk your stringer. 😂😂😂
Use a gripper for the stringer instead of a knot.
Was hoping to see Grandma enjoy some fish but I get it if she doesnt wanna be filmed. Hope she enjoyed!
Lemme Guess, Cole… before I even watch this… did you lose another stringer of fish? 😂
I’ve been rigging tie downs and cleats today on my new kayak because of this very reason!!!! How funny. 😂
They sel fish baskets 🤪🤔
Ones that float too. Fish friendly not jabbing and poking big holes in their mouth.
That’s why you need a clip on stringer instead of tying
Awesome video love catch and cook 🥰🤗👋👍😍🐠🐟🎣
Have you ever used Frank's red hot the best
You need to get a floating basket no more unhooking the line from boat just pack up basket
What vacuum sealer doesn’t break the bank?
How about a basket with a floating lid ???
Do you have issues with the Easy Float being pulled under by the 1/16 ?
I don’t. Anything over 1/16 will pull it down though. I usually use 1/32 when bobber fishing though
So it is cold in Arkansas? Are you having a "Long Pants Alert?"
I think I know somewhere that causes a slabby. Patty, I don't know who that could be. You better not eat all of them a little squirts are probably hungry too
What do you do with all the fish you keep?
If fish prices are anything like they are in Detroit, I hope that he’s keeping and freezing 😬. One single crappie the size of his is priced at $17.00. 10 bluegill will run about $40.00. That’s why I fish until our lakes freeze. I’m well stocked 💕.
Need to get you a heating vest
so sorry for that... things happen..
What is the limited there?
Get a basket with float lid and you won’t lose anymore.
Looks similar to Caddo.
may wanna get back to watching razorback back football petrino is back
Is this your lake Cole ? If so where is this ,you now just have a wet land ?
Yesterday i brought the crappie magnet bundle
Awesome! We hope you enjoy it and it brings in all the slabs!
What lake are you fishing in?
Cole buy yourself a small clip atach it to you stringer the your boat ok
I'm all for occasional harvest but many slabs need to be returned to leave a good gene pool to reproduce.
We release the largest ones. 👍
What part of Louisiana boss?
Where is this in Louisiana
I don't know where to get those fish are slabs they're barely keeping size here!
pretty place bassare the bucks
Audio issues at the end while you were getting ready to cook.
Longer stringer with a D-Ring Won't ever loose them again.
Cole if i had enough money i would get you a live well for your kyake this Christmas
Next time take jay with you
Cole, go down the road to eat my catfish and pick up some Willy Dust you won't regret it
Enjoy your Fish 🎉
JO JO IN VT 💞

I know your crappie fishing... but man that looks like a great place n time of day to use a Jitter Bug,,, for bass,,, i have never seen you n Jay use a jitter bug on any of your shows,, just saying
❤
I would like to come fishing with you
And where is Jay?
Probably doing the mommy thing.
I think Cole is going solo.
Cole and Jay need 4more beautiful babies 😅
You’re in Louisiana dude. It’s a white perch. We do not call them that. 😂🤪
Not in Louisiana haha

OMG you lost all the fish
