["How To" Episode 11] TOMBSTONE: The Real Redman vs. Present Toys Comparison (Tombstone) 1/6 Scale

- I started to wonder if my eBay purchased Val Kilmer head sculpt and hat were authentic Redman items after seeing some photos of some Val Kilmer Redman figures. So I went ahead and purchased a complete Redman Doc Holliday set from the same distributer I received the Present Doc Holliday set. You see the comparisons here in this episode. Although I believe that I have an older Val Kilmer head sculpt and hat from Redman, in the end, it doesn't matter. What matters now is, I suppose, which item is the best bang for the buck so to speak. You find my impressions on this video. It doesn't mean I won't purchase anything from the company I liked least in this comparison, and I certainly know that one company can make some great figures at times and not so great figures at other times. Still, you see this comparison in this episode. Whether this is a true "How To" is only relevant if you think of it this way . . . "How to" tell which item is better? The only true way is to do side-by-side comparisons. I hope this particular comparison helps someone.

Just subscribed. Your channel is one of my favorite because you're incredibly thorough, and you review figures that are more uncommonly reviewed on YT. I'm really liking the Present Toys offering, especially for the price.
The price was wonderful, and when I got them from Toys Wonderland, at first they came consistently and very fast. They are not as consistent anymore so be very very careful from them. I still have not received some orders from them that they said they sent but the tracking never changes. Another problem I've noticed is that the cancel button no longer works. If that isn't weird, I don't know what is. Thus, if you take a chance from them, I would only order one thing at a time (no preorders) and ask Paypal or your credit card to step in if you don't receive it or it says sent but it never moves with tracking. They did recently send me a preorder I made a while back, but I can't say I trust them 100% anymore. Thank you for the kind words by the way! I appreciate them!!! :-)

Amazing figures!
Thank you! It's one of my all-time favorite movies. I am so very thankful someone made a Val Kilmer (Doc Holliday) figure. I wish more people would make different figures. Only the most popular ones get made, and that leaves a lot of good movies out of the picture sadly. Thank you for the compliment!!! Have a good one! :-)
The two guns but one holster is accurate, in the film val keeps his regular colt in his holster and the gun with the more rounded grip (a colt lightning) is sometimes in his right vest pocket or sometimes in his right pants pocket, it usually depends on which scene, the Redman figure you have is specifically from two scenes, the first scene when doc greets wyatt, morgan and virgil when they arrive in tombstone and theyre approached by Johnny tyler with a shotgun (this scene hes wearing the grey jacket) the second and more memorable scene is when doc attempts to duel a drunk Johnny ringo and doc has his colt lightning drawn in his left hand behind his back (this scene he has no grey jacket on) if you want them to look abit more different from each other id suggest having the redman doc without his jacket and his colt lightning drawn behind his back as its quite a memorable scene, im currently putting together my own doc so ive watched the movie quite alot over the last few months, hope some of my gibberish helps 😂 oh also all the heads are the same sculpt, a recast of the original doc Holliday headsculpt by rainman artwork, redman and present toys basically stole the artists work, if you can get hold of a real rainman sculpt id strongly suggest doing so, its larger and better in scale than redmans and presents and has much more sculpted skin and hair details although the paintjob may not be as detailed oh and the hat details are alot better
Your memory is impeccable as is your attention to detail!!! I just re-looked at some clips, and you are right on target (pun intended). LOL I just "assumed" there were two holsters because logically that makes sense. A gun in a pocket does not seem very comfortable, but comfort and logic doesn't always go together. When I see guys on choppers with exceptionally high handlebars, I always say in my mind that cannot be comfortable. On the other hand, what I interpret as uncomfortable may actually be comfortable to the other person. I wish I could indeed get a copy of a real Rainman sculpt. I am not sure I can. I have seen his work on eBay over the years, and I recall saying in my head that is fantastic work. Thank you for explaining things so kindly and artfully. I appreciate the feedback. That's a good lesson. One should watch some clips before making off-handed comments. Still I do like elements of both figures. I love the red vest on the Redman . . . the purplish vest is not a color I favor but I love the very fine tailoring of the jacket on the Present Toys. That jacket sits tightly on the figure and makes the figure look exceptionally sharp. Thank you again for the way you patiently explained things above. That was exceptionally kind!!!
@@UndergroundActionFigures no problem at all 👍 always happy to help another collector out, I vaugely recall reading the idea was so doc could hide his colt lightning so people didn't realise he had a second smaller pistol on him, so it was sort of concealed, also I don't know if this will help but I'm using mostly the present toys figure but I bought the Redman guns and ring for my custom, I found some tiny fake plastic rhinestone thingies in a local shop and they look much better on the Redman ring than the silver stud thing they have on it, it's also more accurate as docs ring has a diamond in it, so if you can find a small enough fake rhinestone definitely take off the silver stud and glue that in it's place
Very creative!!! I did mix my Redman and Present Toy figures, but I NEVER thought of looking for plastic rhinestones. I love going to antique stores and flea markets, but there is also Amazon. If you look hard enough you can find things (if the idea is there). You've planted the idea. :-) Now I just need "time" to do what I want to do. Have a great one!!! Hi great video, could you do a review of your Redman Wyatt Earp. I know you did one with all of them together but I would like to see Wyatt in details and close up and know what you thunk of it.

You shave the neck down easily..and then just put the ball adaptor back on..using a exacto knife
What a great idea. I loved the facial details itself. The neck was just weird. I will make some adjustments. An exacto knife should slow me down so I don't overdo. That is the greatest fear. I don't want to overcompensate and have too short a neck. Thank you!!! :-)
I'm typing ahead of time as I watch how do you feel of present toys vs redman
From the supplier I got both from, Present Toys was cheaper. The neck wasn't like a giraffe either. However, I liked the vest color Redman used in the outfit and Redman adds more accessories. On the other hand, the jacket on the Present Toys as the best tailored jacket I've seen in a while. So I'm torn. I've gotten a few Present Toy figures that weren't so good, but I've gotten some Redman Toy figures that fell flat too. I think for me, it's going to be a figure by figure challenge. Redman Toy figures beats Present Toy figures in terms of accessories that's for sure, but I don't use tons of accessories when I display figures. So again, I think it will be figure by figure for me. I wish things were easier, that's for sure. :-)
