Following on from my grey makeup film a few weeks ago, this weekened I'm creating metallic grey makeup that works in the daytime.
I've used a Sam Chapman for Beauty Pie eyeshadow that works beautifully for this look.

Try the purple Erborian cream it’s absolutely amazing!!! I often use it just by itself but it can also be used under other foundation too and covers all red/scarlet/blue and dark under eyes and veins etc too ❤

I just can’t explain how much I love watching your videos, Caroline! This is my favourite type of look! Smokey, rock, edgy and inky eyes with neutral lips and cheeks. Thank you so much Caroline. I've never been 'brave' enough to just outline the inner eye, I always just do the the outer lid at the lash line. Maybe as eyeliners have become softer, it'll be a more pleasant experience! I bought a Hildun Beauty eyeliner as a dupe to VB and it's beautifully soft, blendable and lasting, so maybe I'll give tightlining and waterlining a go. Thank you for doing a look for us cool-toned gals... seeing you do a Summer look on Anna with her cool colouring would be fab! Brilliant video and a lovely change as a Summer look. This look is a look I have worn on and off ( more on that off) since I was 17…..I’m now 64. Grey eyeshadow, black liner, mascara, cool pink cheeks and cool baby pink lips. Thank you so much for this! July Christie was my idol as a little girl as was Bardot. But mostly, Anita Pallenberg, who first got me into the look at 17. SO ROCK AND ROLL! You look fab. Thank you!!!

Morning lovely Caroline, where to start?
Firstly am thrilled you will be getting Anna back, I saw her last time on this channel and promptly booked a zoom meeting with her at a difficult time, was about to start Chemo and she was so incredibly helpful and lovely also the understanding of colours was fantastic and wore my warrior ones when facing the hospital visits. I am a soft autumn and internet tells me to use warm eyeshadows but I think I look better with cooler tones.
Little perturbed with the person asked for makeup with a mask, hope it is like you say a Doctor but first thing that sprang to mine was a theif or a serial killer!!!!!
Regarding holiday reading try the Georgette Heyer historical romances, light hearted and funny.

I love your tips on how to make eyeshadow less messy. I'm 65 with somewhat crepey eyelids, and I have been using the rare beauty eyeshadow primer for about six months now. It is very, very lightweight and thin, but has a little bit of coverage, so it does cancel out Pigmentation on the eyelids. I don't need to set it with powder, but I think if someone had oily lids they might. I also use well-made, natural bristle braces to apply my eyeshadow, and I make sure I tap off the brush before I touch it to my eyelids. I only use a very tiny amount of each color to start and then I build up slowly. Not sure if these tips would also be helpful to your comment?
Love the Sam Chapman BP products, I ordered this eye tint on a whim and I love it. Never thought I could wear this color but makes my blue eyes pop. Love the blush on you!

Can also recommend the RMS Eyelights. I have Strobe and it's a beautiful light taupe shimmery colour. I use it like you did with the grey one. It's so pretty. You have to watch when you first use it as loads comes out of the tube if you're not careful. I got in a right mess! Emma x

WOW this look really suits you beautiful. I too would apprciate a step by step eyemakeup video, it often stars out well , but as soon as i try to add some depth it all gets wishy washy, and being a varifocal glasses wearer doenst help !!!! Also I have patches skin either side of my neck which looks like I've been plucked - I presume it's a combination of past sun exposure and effects of rosacea any ideas of how I can minimise their appearance please? Thank you.

Ooh yes, a cool toned eye look 👍🏻. (I know you’re warm toned, but your eyes still looked very beautiful). I’d love to see you do Anna’s make up again. Also wondered if you have any ideas for cool toned eyeshadows for brown eyes that aren’t too dark and aren’t blue or grey? I really struggle. 😢 x
My concern is that I love thin , light foundations and whilst they even out my complexion beautifully...my pesky hyperpigmentation ( from years living in the sun), always show through and it's so difficult to get any concealer (and I've tried them all!) to cover them and unify my base..whilst being undetectable on my skin! Do I go a shade darker with my foundation nearer my dark patches or .....? x

LOVE LOVE LOVE this look! Shall definitely give this a try. Would love to see an eye prep video - my biggest bugbear in life is that the rest of my skin is normal-combo oily, but my upper eyelids are drier than the desert (thank you menopause, another unwanted gift!), have tried everything to find a smoothing base but everything I use ends up looking dry and crinkly the minute I put shadow over it (crème eyeshadow better than powder but still not great) - please help!!! 🙏🏻❤🙏🏻 Rx

Hi Caroline I’m incredibly cool toned and I love greys and silver on the eyes. I’m still a rock chick and a biker at 52, but I tend to go for a softer look on the eyes nowadays (this may inspire me to get that black eyeliner back out😂) with a grey or navy blue liner on the tightline every day. I have smaller hooded eyes with some crepey texture on the lids. Cream shadows can be really beautiful or look terrible- as you say some dry down and tighten emphasising texture.😢
Lipstick is a nightmare for the truly cool toned as everything seems to have yellow in it and turns peach on me (yuck 🍊🍊🍊🍊🤢). The counter assistants assure me it’s a cool toned lip and without fail within a few minutes it has turned peachy on me (including Dior, Givenchy, Mac etc etc etc). For a cool toned nude UD backtalk is a favourite, for a pinky lilac then Ulta brand in 310 (bought in the US when I couldn’t find the right shade here) and for something brighter Laura Mercier rose mauve is a great purple infused bright pink. Hope that helps someone else out there struggling to find something that doesn’t turn peachy orange on them. I should mention I am super pale with grey eyes and ashy (ok a lot of white threads😂) blonde hair plus my natural lip tone is a mauve. Best wishes x
Hello Caroline, thank you for your lovely content. I noticed that your eyelid areas are not particularly pigmented compared to the rest of your face... Would you be able to recommend products and application etc for pigmented eye areas? I have olive skin, and so under my eyes it purple and my upper eyelids are browny purple. Any kind of brown eyeshadow highlights these tones so I only wear illuminating singular shadows to brighten xxxx

My issue with mascara is that I was blessed with long eyelashes so no matter what brand of mascara I use my lashes end up hitting my glasses and smudging them any advice would be appreciated be gratefully appreciated xxx
Same here! I just use an eyelash curler and waterproof mascara, then wait until it dries completely to put my glasses on again. I am blind for a bit but at least the glasses stay clean lol!

Morning, can you expand more on the layering you said you were having? Most of my face is fine but I'm really noticing the lines on my top lip. Love wearing bright lippy but hate the bleeding.
Now your videos are usually longer (speed beauty?) than they used to be, would you consider adding episode points/time stamps, so it’s easier to move forwards and backwards to specific points in the video?
This is beautiful. I shall try this today 😀 I am an opera singer based in Cornwall and this is the time of year where I will be performing a lot outside and so, is it possible you could do a make up to see me through a performance under hot lights and in humid hot conditions and to make it more accessible for all the other lovely followers you have, for attending summer weddings, parties, BBQs where we all need to look fabulous for a long time and not melt into a sticky puddle please? If possible, using more affordable brands. Thank you x

Hey Adele, I had the same issue and have tried many brands, never quite satisfied with the effect after a few months of use. Then one and a half year ago I ordered Dr Sam’s moisturizer and serums Brightly and Nightly. I have now extended to more: cleanser and the Vitamine C, mentioned by Caroline in this video. These products are amazing: gentle enough but also very effective. I really see a difference in the appearence and feel of my skin. They sell a kit with five miniatures to try out. Also, they have a nice subscription system that you can tailor to your own needs. I hope this will be helpful for you. 🙋🏼♀️
