He would have been very proud of it. His last statement in this video was about "the thinkers and the doers." He respected the people who brought innovation to Apple, and like with the iPod, iPhone, and iPad, Apple was not the first one to market with MP3 players, smart phones, or tablets. But they looked at the stuff that was out there, and they figured out how to make it substantially better, where the old state-of-the-art looked like vintage technology by comparison. That is EXACTLY what the Vision Pro is. AR/MR/VR devices have existed for over 10 years, but there has never been anything even close to this. Yes, it's a lot more expensive. But then again, so was the iPhone, and I remember a particularly damning video of Steve Ballmer (the quintessential buffoon) mouthing off about how stupid it was to try to sell a $500 cell phone without a keyboard. Yes, he might have pushed the team a little more to make it lighter and more comfortable for longer periods of time. And I'm sure he'd be pushing for a version 2 that allowed for people to go into a shared immersive environment with other Vision Pro users (to watch a movie together, for example, or just to hang out and play a game in a virtual living room). But remember, version 1 of the iPhone cost $500, it had very limited functionality, 2G data speeds, SMS messaging only, no cut/copy/paste function, no ability to switch between different apps, and NO APP STORE. We were all limited to the few apps that came with the phone. This is version 1 of the Vision Pro. Let's see what happens next... Maybe a "Vision Air?" Or just a plain "Apple Vision?" Less expensive versions made "unapologetically" out of lighter weight plastic with a little less functionality in some areas, but maybe a lot more functionality in others? I think this is the coolest thing Apple has come out with since the iPhone, and I believe most reviewers online agree with that. Everyone is quick to point to the high price and discomfort after 30-45 minutes of wearing it. But again... it's version 1.0. Let's see what they do next!

I remain curious as to how much more can improve and be unlocked for hardware via software, remember Tesla improving camera quality through an over the air update alone?? Steve launched the first iPhone with only web apps for an entire year. Sooooo, don't be so sure of that one. He might have waited, but I'm not convinced.
@@MikeLikesChannel tons of people make this point, but it’s nowhere near comparable because of the categories iPhone was going into. Most everyone had a phone and an iPod. Many had smartphones. It took those existing categories, combined them, then did the core functions WAY bette than anyone. “The killer app is making calls.” It did the smartphone nice-to-haves better than anyone, too (browser, maps, photos app, email). On top of that, it added new stuff that no one really had on a phone, but wished they did (UA-cam app and widescreen video for example). Without having a full App Store, it did stuff people already needed and wanted and was super valuable and useful right out of the box, day 1. No one was crying out for apps. They were crying out for video recording lol. The uses were clear. Compare this to spatial computing/VR. Nowhere near as ubiquitous as music players or phones were. Most people have never even tried VR. After 1 year of sales, and on release of a second version, let’s see if this comparison holds up. My guess is it won’t. I’m not hater either. I’m a VR enthusiast and want an AVP.
@@weinopolice oh it’s going to remain a niche relative to iPhone and iPad volume. Frankly if they could move as many visions as they do watches 3-5 years in, that’s hugely successful. We won’t know until the vision has its “iPad 2” moment. Which hasn’t come yet. Buying first gen Apple means spending more, and having a shorter device lifespan than subsequent generations. There’s features on Vision Pro we’ll still see 10 years from now, and some that will disappear for the second gen never to return. I’m bullish on it though. My mom (67) was never going to try a meta quest 3. Her mind was blown when she went for her demo. That’s what Apple is counting on.
This is the part that Meta doesn't quite get yet, as it's not making its headsets as easy and intuitive to use as humanly possible but rather convoluted messes that require setting up various accounts, linking to phones that require their mobile apps, clunky cross use of their UI stuff, etc. Even just turning the thing on and getting in to use it for the first time is a total nightmare where you are basically locked out of even using your bought and paid for device until you jump through a whole bunch of unnecessary hoops, when it literally should be as simple as turn on, menu appears, use.

Steve Jobs was a dreamer, but Tim Cook is a maker. Tim Cook has taken a dream well beyond any dreamer could. Airpod, AppleWatch, Apple Silicon are absolute liders in their field. Vision Pro will also get there. Yes, he would be more than proud.
Great video man, really well made. As far if Steve would be proud, is only something god knows. Having read his biography, I am proud of what apple has done with vision pro. And I really think it doesn't get enough hype. I've noticed apple taking a downtrend in their simplicity, which was one of the core features, but the vision pro sticks to these "jobs" principles. Anyways I'm super excited for it to launch, hope you are too.

Having used both the Newton and the Vision Pro, I see your point. But the Vision Pro is probably a much better value and costs about as much as the Newton did. The trajectory of this VP technology will be really interesting in 14 years which is the time gap between the Newton and the iPhone.
the AVP is no comparison to the Newton. I used the Newton. it really didn't do anything IMHO. Although I don't own an AVP, I did demo it. And I can see this device integrates with all the other things in the Apple ecosystem. And the main complaint is people say it is very expensive as being their biggest complaint. But even with that consideration.. a lot of people are still buying and keeping it. I am pretty sure that Google and Amazon want their own version of an AVP. Probably Google will do a Pixel Vision Pro first.. And Amazon will make some really incredible apps that have stereoscopic web pages for people to use for shopping. I suspect that AI ML will be used to convert 2D videos into 3D.. and this service will be provided by Google and Apple. I have seen some videos from the 1980s that were shot in 2D and have been converted using AI/ML, with software like OWL3D (see: www.owl3d.com/ ) Incredible.
I think he'd be impressed by the engineering and business. Probably not so much on marketing or his young initial "vision." Maybe proud to see his progenitors make Apple their own and make quality products. Apple has moved into being tools for entertainment. Only the price elevates it above toys. Siri fails to follow his vision, for now. People in reviews, albeit slightly comedic and ingenuine in tone, have some issues using the Vision Pro. Their answers are in settings but the point is that you shouldn't have to think or work for it. Common issues: * People not being aware of Look & finger tap to type. * Not aware of the deep integration of Siri and leveraging it to navigate the OS/Apps. * Manual requirement to initiate Travel mode. I assume they want to discourage people using it walking or driving. * accidental look+tap control issues while fidgeting and doing physical tasks Most people want VR because they want escape. Half of people have mediocre, failing, or outright toxic relationships with themselves, family, friends, society. Days low on thrills and life. Only people who are bound to multiple monitors for work and craft come to the desire for VR-for-work. VR is not a status item, it's intimate and associated with gamer culture. Music is primal (ipod), phones are necessary, computers are legacy. What's the need or market for VR? Vision Pro is only serviceable for software and videographers. Apple doesn't do video games/toys. What $3.5K buys you are: * 2K QHD gigantic 3D Movie screen with good surround sound. And we don't make 3D movies anymore really. * A large QHD monitor that seems to be a bit laggy * Potentially easier computer use giving our carpal tunnels and back a break. * Portability That's an expensive research experiment. Things that can improve with generation 1: Tools * Marketing and integration of Siri and upcoming AI features * If devs of Davinci Resolve, Final Cut, Blender, CAD software, 3D printer software, Visual Studio Code, etc optimize for it * related to popular productivity software: customizable virtual controls. * Probably too heavy and risky for the eyes but some fitness app integrations. I hate having to turn my head to a screen or sit and search and organize movements. * Related to games but learning apps. Best way to learn is to do. There already exists music learning apps. * Better environment enhancing. The Vision Pro detects Apple Watches and allows you to see it while in Immersive mode. keyboards and desk space need to be zoned in. * MORE AR. being able to use a random stick and the desk as a drawing tablet. Binding the virtual keyboard to the surface of a desk. * haptic accessories. Escapism * If there's improvement to be made with PS5 remote play & steam link that would fulfill orig VR expectations and compete with these new goggles-as-monitors products. * This may be below Apples tastes but AI upscale of Google Earth. Preview vacations. Maybe a VR vacation planning app and make a cut selling experiences.
I appreciate that rather than simply ranting about your own views for 20 minutes, you simply presented the facts, and left it up to interpretation. Here are his thoughts at the dawn of their own, rudimentary technology, truly compared to now, none of that stuff is worth a damn. But only by taking those steps in the beginning are we able to arrive here.
I personally do think it’s something he would approve of, but he would absolutely look at it as more of a iPod to our present day iPhone. It’s the beginning of the beginning, and the future will go on any glasses. Ray-Bans, Walmart Glasses, Gucci, Etc. Technology will all at once be completely accessible at a moments notice, but at the very least in Apple’s camp, it will also be completely out of the way. Out of the way, in a way it hasn’t been since before the television. It’s there when you want it, and yet completely absent from your life when you don’t. No need for TV’s, computer monitors, big bulky PC’s and TV boxes and sticks. Your friends can see it, you can all hear it, interact with it and work at it together. It’s all right there, it lasts all day, you can put it all away in one fell swoop, with the flick of a wrist it’s all back.
I think the video speaks its clear language: he wouldn't be proud of the vision pro. -Decent marketing, sure. -GREAT tech and engineering, that's a fact. But when it comes to the product I'm convinced he never would have let it out in the market. He would have said no to a lot of things to focus it on being "a pair of headphones for your eyes". A portable mega screen which you could carry anywhere. Using your regular input devices, mouse and keyboard, to control it.
Using mouse and keyboard? That is not what Steve would have done. Steve said that he will start the pc blockbuster era, so he wiuld likely also use those hand and eye gestures as well, or maybe something more innovative. Also, it would be stupid to release headphones for eyes when the vr already exists. In my opinion, I think Tim Cook did a great job with this first generation. It does have it's problems, but even the Iphone 2g had problem with signal and lack of 3g connectivity.
It has a clear use case…taking your office and your home theater with you where ever you go….not just a laptop, but countless screens you can make as big as a theater

@@JM_2019 Everyone I’ve seen that used it on a plane, in cars, in a cafe etc has said it worked great and that’s the main use case…I have one myself and can confirm, it works great for that. Throwing a keyboard and trackpad in your bag along with your Vision Pro is about as easy as a laptop, which is much more limited and way less private, which is important in those settings as well.
This was a beautifully made piece of content. I’m not sure Jobs would have appreciated the final design of the hardware (especially considering how the plastic layer is over the glass and so easily scratched…the external battery pack, how heavy it is, etc) but would have loved VisionOS. Apple needs to find another Jony Ive for sure.
I think he’d hate it because it doesn’t have a point. Think about the iPod - 1000 songs in your pocket. Think about the iPhone - a phone, an iPod, an Internet browser. What is the Vision Pro’s point? What is its killer app? What is its advantage worth 10 times the competitor’s price? I can’t give a good answer on any of those, from what I’ve seen.
I guess a screen you can take with you and make as big as you want. But even then, the device is clunky and stupid looking just like everything else in VR. It reminds me of pre-iphone smartphones, just big, clunky, and stupid.
I really doubt it. He literally says you build products that the customers need not build products first and then find customers for that product which the vision pro is looking for its customers right now.
If you gave someone that had never used a computer before a Vision vs. anything else; I am 100% sure they would find the Vision more intuitive and enjoyable.
Everyone is different but Vision Pro is easily the best Apple produced other than it can get uncomfortable to wear a long time like other vr/ar headset but it can be improved in later design
I think Steve would be very proud especially given what he said in this video that lines up with the ease of use and advancement of computers into a virtual headset. However, he would not agree with the price, alienating the customer base. If Apple can get the headset much cheaper than I can definitely see vr becoming even bigger for Apple and the industry
I don’t know Steve, but I am certainly not happy with it as an Apple fan. The vision pro is an unfinished product without a clear usecase: It fails in key functions (passthrough isn’t that good, fov is bad, it’s too heavy, battery life is bad, the tracking stops sometimes, personas are bad, the eye display in the front is terrible) and the only usecase at the moment are blown up iPad apps.
First generation Apple products have always presented a vision but haven't been fully realized models of that vision. It's always the second generation were Apple actually delivers. Except the watch, I will never understand the watch.

The "vision" that they have presented until now is not much more than iPad apps projected onto a VR headset, most of the apps aren't even 3D. At that point I don't know if this is going to work, because computer monitors are always going to be cheaper and more comfortable to use. Imo they need to use the 3D space more so the "spacial computing" part really becomes necessary. There should be as few "windows" as possible and instead apps should use 3D objects in your space that possibly even blend into your real surroundings and objects. But yeah, we'll have to wait for the next generation products and how Apple will flesh the ideas out more...
3:20 The iPhone was a solution that solved many problems. The Vision Pro is a solution looking for a problem. As for the user experience Steve would have modified the Vision Pro heavily. He would have removed the EyeSight screen. He would have reduced the weight by moving the computing to be with the battery housing and making the cable Thunderbolt. There would be an internal battery in the housing but a swappable battery that could slide on. There would be a strap that would allow the user to wear the housing on his back. He would have created a more elegant band that transfers the load to the crown of the head. He would made the primary way to navigate with a trackpad and keyboard that you could wear.
Swappable battery that could slide on? That is a teribble idea at the moment. It will just add unnecessary weight. An external battery is the best choice for now.
@@edk1124 You're wrong. I said an internal plus an extenal that slides on. Hot-swapping prevents booting a computer down when you're low. Let me pose a question to you. Let's say you're rendering a long video at 90% but your battery is at 5%. What option do you have if you're away from an outlet?

I think that he would be angry at the price. He commented in the past that he never wanted to price Apple products where his customers could not afford it. I'm a life long Apple customer and I still can't believe that they set the price where they did. It's like Apple gave the middle finger to the major of it's customers including me.
It’s the same price that a PowerBook was in 1993 (post jobs era). And that isn’t including inflation. It’s also the most technologically advanced thing I have ever seen in the consumer market besides gps (which is probably built into vision pro) or Starlink. It might even be more advanced than Starlink which is a relatively simple problem compared to accommodating everyone’s eyesight requirements (interocular distance, diopters, etc. )
He would have had a big cry, just like with the original iMac and the CD drive tray, which version 2 replaced with the slot feed. But it still would be released. Let's not forget the advances between the first iPhone and iPhone 5, same with the first Apple Watch and Apple Watch series 3.
Where the ipod was necessary for apple, its lifespan was extremely short. Would the vision pro fall into that category? Their were mp3 players on the market, the ipod was just better. Their are vr/ar headsets on the market, but the vision pro is just better. I believe the longevity for AVP is there. As an owner of one for a little more then a week, I and everyone that I've had try it love it too. Besides the obvious(the super clear displays), the intuitive eye traction partnered with the Apple OS that we all agree is the most intuitive easiest to navigate ui makes it the obvious next step for Apple. When it's affordable, it'll take over the world guaranteed. Until the creation of REAL comercially interactive holographic displays, the AVP is a very smart decision to take on. Props to Tim Cook.

Nope, Stece Jobs would have gone for a proper AR glasses product that would have been light, had an open field of view and would look cool to wear both indoors and outdoors. Instead we got a heavy over-engineered VR headset that does only AR with and has an external battery pack.

It's the most anti-Steve Jobs product they've ever released. A ridiculously overengineered device that solves no apparent problems, and has no killer use case. Without a doubt he would not have been excited about this product, but perhaps he would have been forced by the will of investors. Apple hasn't been innovating for many years and this product won't change that, just look at how much they are appealing to UA-camrs to review the product in a clearly rigged game.
The original Macintosh was $6,000 in today’s dollars. The original iPhone was $2,900-$4,400 when you include the mandatory 2 year service contract. Steve was plenty willing to make expensive products, especially the 1st generation. The cheaper SKUs come down the line.

Vision is the third pillar of their computing platforms, it is a first gen device. It is priced completely in line, or cheaper than, the first macOS and iOS devices.

He would have been very proud of it. His last statement in this video was about "the thinkers and the doers." He respected the people who brought innovation to Apple, and like with the iPod, iPhone, and iPad, Apple was not the first one to market with MP3 players, smart phones, or tablets. But they looked at the stuff that was out there, and they figured out how to make it substantially better, where the old state-of-the-art looked like vintage technology by comparison. That is EXACTLY what the Vision Pro is. AR/MR/VR devices have existed for over 10 years, but there has never been anything even close to this. Yes, it's a lot more expensive. But then again, so was the iPhone, and I remember a particularly damning video of Steve Ballmer (the quintessential buffoon) mouthing off about how stupid it was to try to sell a $500 cell phone without a keyboard. This is like the iPhone on steroids. Jobs would have loved the whole premise of it. Yes, he might have pushed the team a little more to make it lighter and more comfortable for longer periods of time. And I'm sure he'd be pushing for a version 2 that allowed for people to go into a shared immersive environment with other Vision Pro users (to watch a movie together, for example, or just to hang out and play a game in a virtual living room). But remember, version 1 of the iPhone cost $500, it had very limited functionality, 2G data speeds, SMS messaging only, no cut/copy/paste function, no ability to switch between different apps, and NO APP STORE. We were all limited to the few apps that came with the phone.
This is version 1 of the Vision Pro. Let's see what happens next... Maybe a "Vision Air?" Or just a plain "Apple Vision?" Less expensive versions made "unapologetically" out of lighter weight plastic with a little less functionality in some areas, but maybe a lot more functionality in others? I think this is the coolest thing Apple has come out with since the iPhone, and I believe most reviewers online agree with that. Everyone is quick to point to the high price and discomfort after 30-45 minutes of wearing it. But again... it's version 1.0. Let's see what they do next!

@@MikeLikesChannel tons of people make this point, but it’s nowhere near comparable because of the categories iPhone was going into. Most everyone had a phone and an iPod. Many had smartphones. It took those existing categories, combined them, then did the core functions WAY bette than anyone. “The killer app is making calls.” It did the smartphone nice-to-haves better than anyone, too (browser, maps, photos app, email). On top of that, it added new stuff that no one really had on a phone, but wished they did (UA-cam app and widescreen video for example). Without having a full App Store, it did stuff people already needed and wanted and was super valuable and useful right out of the box, day 1. No one was crying out for apps. They were crying out for video recording lol. The uses were clear. Compare this to spatial computing/VR. Nowhere near as ubiquitous as music players or phones were. Most people have never even tried VR. After 1 year of sales, and on release of a second version, let’s see if this comparison holds up. My guess is it won’t. I’m not hater either. I’m a VR enthusiast and want an AVP.
@@weinopolice oh it’s going to remain a niche relative to iPhone and iPad volume. Frankly if they could move as many visions as they do watches 3-5 years in, that’s hugely successful.
We won’t know until the vision has its “iPad 2” moment. Which hasn’t come yet. Buying first gen Apple means spending more, and having a shorter device lifespan than subsequent generations. There’s features on Vision Pro we’ll still see 10 years from now, and some that will disappear for the second gen never to return.
I’m bullish on it though. My mom (67) was never going to try a meta quest 3. Her mind was blown when she went for her demo. That’s what Apple is counting on.
This is the part that Meta doesn't quite get yet, as it's not making its headsets as easy and intuitive to use as humanly possible but rather convoluted messes that require setting up various accounts, linking to phones that require their mobile apps, clunky cross use of their UI stuff, etc. Even just turning the thing on and getting in to use it for the first time is a total nightmare where you are basically locked out of even using your bought and paid for device until you jump through a whole bunch of unnecessary hoops, when it literally should be as simple as turn on, menu appears, use.

I've noticed apple taking a downtrend in their simplicity, which was one of the core features, but the vision pro sticks to these "jobs" principles. Anyways I'm super excited for it to launch, hope you are too.

Having used both the Newton and the Vision Pro, I see your point. But the Vision Pro is probably a much better value and costs about as much as the Newton did. The trajectory of this VP technology will be really interesting in 14 years which is the time gap between the Newton and the iPhone.
the AVP is no comparison to the Newton. I used the Newton. it really didn't do anything IMHO. Although I don't own an AVP, I did demo it. And I can see this device integrates with all the other things in the Apple ecosystem. And the main complaint is people say it is very expensive as being their biggest complaint. But even with that consideration.. a lot of people are still buying and keeping it. I am pretty sure that Google and Amazon want their own version of an AVP. Probably Google will do a Pixel Vision Pro first.. And Amazon will make some really incredible apps that have stereoscopic web pages for people to use for shopping. I suspect that AI ML will be used to convert 2D videos into 3D.. and this service will be provided by Google and Apple. I have seen some videos from the 1980s that were shot in 2D and have been converted using AI/ML, with software like OWL3D (see: www.owl3d.com/ ) Incredible.

I think he'd be impressed by the engineering and business. Probably not so much on marketing or his young initial "vision." Maybe proud to see his progenitors make Apple their own and make quality products. Apple has moved into being tools for entertainment. Only the price elevates it above toys. Siri fails to follow his vision, for now. People in reviews, albeit slightly comedic and ingenuine in tone, have some issues using the Vision Pro. Their answers are in settings but the point is that you shouldn't have to think or work for it. Common issues:
* People not being aware of Look & finger tap to type.
* Not aware of the deep integration of Siri and leveraging it to navigate the OS/Apps.
* Manual requirement to initiate Travel mode. I assume they want to discourage people using it walking or driving.
* accidental look+tap control issues while fidgeting and doing physical tasks
Most people want VR because they want escape. Half of people have mediocre, failing, or outright toxic relationships with themselves, family, friends, society. Days low on thrills and life. Only people who are bound to multiple monitors for work and craft come to the desire for VR-for-work. VR is not a status item, it's intimate and associated with gamer culture. Music is primal (ipod), phones are necessary, computers are legacy. What's the need or market for VR? Vision Pro is only serviceable for software and videographers. Apple doesn't do video games/toys. What $3.5K buys you are:
* 2K QHD gigantic 3D Movie screen with good surround sound. And we don't make 3D movies anymore really.
* A large QHD monitor that seems to be a bit laggy
* Potentially easier computer use giving our carpal tunnels and back a break.
* Portability
That's an expensive research experiment.
Things that can improve with generation 1:
Tools
* Marketing and integration of Siri and upcoming AI features
* If devs of Davinci Resolve, Final Cut, Blender, CAD software, 3D printer software, Visual Studio Code, etc optimize for it
* related to popular productivity software: customizable virtual controls.
* Probably too heavy and risky for the eyes but some fitness app integrations. I hate having to turn my head to a screen or sit and search and organize movements.
* Related to games but learning apps. Best way to learn is to do. There already exists music learning apps.
* Better environment enhancing. The Vision Pro detects Apple Watches and allows you to see it while in Immersive mode. keyboards and desk space need to be zoned in.
* MORE AR. being able to use a random stick and the desk as a drawing tablet. Binding the virtual keyboard to the surface of a desk.
* haptic accessories.
Escapism
* If there's improvement to be made with PS5 remote play & steam link that would fulfill orig VR expectations and compete with these new goggles-as-monitors products.
* This may be below Apples tastes but AI upscale of Google Earth. Preview vacations. Maybe a VR vacation planning app and make a cut selling experiences.
I appreciate that rather than simply ranting about your own views for 20 minutes, you simply presented the facts, and left it up to interpretation. Here are his thoughts at the dawn of their own, rudimentary technology, truly compared to now, none of that stuff is worth a damn. But only by taking those steps in the beginning are we able to arrive here.
I personally do think it’s something he would approve of, but he would absolutely look at it as more of a iPod to our present day iPhone. It’s the beginning of the beginning, and the future will go on any glasses. Ray-Bans, Walmart Glasses, Gucci, Etc.
Technology will all at once be completely accessible at a moments notice, but at the very least in Apple’s camp, it will also be completely out of the way. Out of the way, in a way it hasn’t been since before the television.
It’s there when you want it, and yet completely absent from your life when you don’t.
No need for TV’s, computer monitors, big bulky PC’s and TV boxes and sticks. Your friends can see it, you can all hear it, interact with it and work at it together.
It’s all right there, it lasts all day, you can put it all away in one fell swoop, with the flick of a wrist it’s all back.

But when it comes to the product I'm convinced he never would have let it out in the market. He would have said no to a lot of things to focus it on being "a pair of headphones for your eyes". A portable mega screen which you could carry anywhere. Using your regular input devices, mouse and keyboard, to control it.
Using mouse and keyboard? That is not what Steve would have done. Steve said that he will start the pc blockbuster era, so he wiuld likely also use those hand and eye gestures as well, or maybe something more innovative. Also, it would be stupid to release headphones for eyes when the vr already exists. In my opinion, I think Tim Cook did a great job with this first generation. It does have it's problems, but even the Iphone 2g had problem with signal and lack of 3g connectivity.
I think Steve would not have released a product without a clear use case.
It has a clear use case…taking your office and your home theater with you where ever you go….not just a laptop, but countless screens you can make as big as a theater

@@JM_2019 Everyone I’ve seen that used it on a plane, in cars, in a cafe etc has said it worked great and that’s the main use case…I have one myself and can confirm, it works great for that. Throwing a keyboard and trackpad in your bag along with your Vision Pro is about as easy as a laptop, which is much more limited and way less private, which is important in those settings as well.
This was a beautifully made piece of content. I’m not sure Jobs would have appreciated the final design of the hardware (especially considering how the plastic layer is over the glass and so easily scratched…the external battery pack, how heavy it is, etc) but would have loved VisionOS. Apple needs to find another Jony Ive for sure.

I really doubt it. He literally says you build products that the customers need not build products first and then find customers for that product which the vision pro is looking for its customers right now.
If you gave someone that had never used a computer before a Vision vs. anything else; I am 100% sure they would find the Vision more intuitive and enjoyable.

Everyone is different but Vision Pro is easily the best Apple produced other than it can get uncomfortable to wear a long time like other vr/ar headset but it can be improved in later design

I think Steve would be very proud especially given what he said in this video that lines up with the ease of use and advancement of computers into a virtual headset. However, he would not agree with the price, alienating the customer base. If Apple can get the headset much cheaper than I can definitely see vr becoming even bigger for Apple and the industry

I don’t know Steve, but I am certainly not happy with it as an Apple fan. The vision pro is an unfinished product without a clear usecase: It fails in key functions (passthrough isn’t that good, fov is bad, it’s too heavy, battery life is bad, the tracking stops sometimes, personas are bad, the eye display in the front is terrible) and the only usecase at the moment are blown up iPad apps.
First generation Apple products have always presented a vision but haven't been fully realized models of that vision. It's always the second generation were Apple actually delivers.

@@thompsonnoel Yes you're right but I can't really say yet if this is gonna be another watch or iPhone. The "vision" that they have presented until now is not much more than iPad apps projected onto a VR headset, most of the apps aren't even 3D. At that point I don't know if this is going to work, because computer monitors are always going to be cheaper and more comfortable to use.
Imo they need to use the 3D space more so the "spacial computing" part really becomes necessary. There should be as few "windows" as possible and instead apps should use 3D objects in your space that possibly even blend into your real surroundings and objects.
But yeah, we'll have to wait for the next generation products and how Apple will flesh the ideas out more...
3:20 The iPhone was a solution that solved many problems. The Vision Pro is a solution looking for a problem. As for the user experience Steve would have modified the Vision Pro heavily. He would have removed the EyeSight screen. He would have reduced the weight by moving the computing to be with the battery housing and making the cable Thunderbolt. There would be an internal battery in the housing but a swappable battery that could slide on. There would be a strap that would allow the user to wear the housing on his back. He would have created a more elegant band that transfers the load to the crown of the head. He would made the primary way to navigate with a trackpad and keyboard that you could wear.

I think that he would be angry at the price. He commented in the past that he never wanted to price Apple products where his customers could not afford it. I'm a life long Apple customer and I still can't believe that they set the price where they did. It's like Apple gave the middle finger to the major of it's customers including me.
It’s the same price that a PowerBook was in 1993 (post jobs era). And that isn’t including inflation.
It’s also the most technologically advanced thing I have ever seen in the consumer market besides gps (which is probably built into vision pro) or Starlink. It might even be more advanced than Starlink which is a relatively simple problem compared to accommodating everyone’s eyesight requirements (interocular distance, diopters, etc. )

Their are vr/ar headsets on the market, but the vision pro is just better. I believe the longevity for AVP is there. As an owner of one for a little more then a week, I and everyone that I've had try it love it too. Besides the obvious(the super clear displays), the intuitive eye traction partnered with the Apple OS that we all agree is the most intuitive easiest to navigate ui makes it the obvious next step for Apple. When it's affordable, it'll take over the world guaranteed.
Until the creation of REAL comercially interactive holographic displays, the AVP is a very smart decision to take on. Props to Tim Cook.

He'd hate apple now. The locked down nature of them where programmers can't do anything with their devices, the frustrated artists and their applications having constant issues, the loose ends.

The Mac lineup is arguably the strongest it’s ever been, using in-house processors (a huge deal) that surpass Intels in most applications, and balance elegance and practicality in terms of I/O, industrial design, etc.
He died around the iPhone 4S and probably knew about the iPhone 5. Since then they’ve grown exponentially more powerful, with increasingly capable cameras (another Steve interest), biometric security, satellite connectivity, crash detection, LiDAR, UWB, etc. while staying easy to use and even incorporating titanium, one of his favorite materials. They sell 3-4x times as many as they did when Steve passed.
Steve was a privacy advocate long before it was on the public’s radar. Since then Apple has been a stalwart of privacy, building it even into Safari, biometric security Secure Enclave, building privacy into their product’s very interfaces (eg preventing tracking of various sorts), even standing up to the FBI’s request to create iPhone back door keys under very intense political pressure.
They’re shipping their first carbon neutral products and are on track to shift the entire product line by 2030.
And of course now they’ve shipped Vision, which frees digital content completely from glass rectangles, gives you infinite screen real estate, is controlled like magic using your eyes and hands, and can transport you to Yosemite Valley or give you your own drive through theater.

They’ve got new, successful products, new successful services, cracking product categories Steve failed at, beating Intel, winning Oscars, protecting privacy, going carbon neutral, and literally saving lives. They’re still at the interaction of technology and liberal arts, as he put it, and operating at an extremely high level.
I think Steve Jobs will be turning in his grave to what Apple has become. apple was innovative but now longer do that it's just pure money making now look at the modern iPhone it's really no different to the other phones just with a higher Price Tag how apple has Fallen once Steve died
