Best part is if you know to tune you can make ULT sound exactly similar to XM5 thanks to same micro-processor that of XM series and that is why noise cancellation is equal or even better than XM5's on the other hand XM5 can never have the rumbling BASS of ULT all credit to 40mm driver where as XM5 has 30mm. Sony finally feeling the pressure from cheap Chinese knockouts.... ultimately which lead to better pricing of ULT.
Good comparison. One thing worth considering is, how big are your ears? I wasn’t able to wear the XM4s or the XM5s for very long because of the shallow ear cups. The ULT wear have much deeper ear cups so they are good for those of us with ears that stick out more.
Thank you for testing the noise cancelling with screaming/playing kids. Not enough reviewers do that and as a working mom, that is the main area I need high performance
I really do enjoy your videos & reviews... awesome job! I own them both and I'll be completely honest, I never once considered returning either one after purchasing... I feel it's much closer between the two than the actual price difference & the Forest Gray rocks on the Ult. Both excellent products but I will say this and it may be because they are newer, but I reach for the Ults more often as they fit my ears better with the deeper cups... great video & sincere thanks!
Excellent review, but... I bought the WH-1000XM5, and returned them. I was not impressed. Tried Bose as well, and JBL. Now have a much cheaper JLAB coming. From my speaker experience, watching your review, I recognize both the mic and the noise cancelling performance, and it seems to me the ULT is outperforming (to my ears) the WH-1000XM5. I hope though that the JLAB will do a good job, as I find those Sony's and Bose grossly overpriced.
@@dutchdekkers4071 I don't know what your hearing is like but I could hear the cars going past with sony ULT but with XM5's there is much less interference and car noise
I think XM4 are better all round. I only recently bought the XM4s and loved them. Unfortunately I had to return them because the ear cups weren’t deep enough for my big ears, and now I have the ULT wears. If you don’t have that comfort issue, then XM4s all day (which also have more base than the XM5s).
@@Harsh22-h2x No I didn’t mean to imply that, I said XM4 has more base than XM5. To be fair I never cranked the base on the XM4s to see how much you could get out of it, but I think it’s a safe assumption that it won’t be as much as the ULT wears, which are pretty nuts. But the XM4 do still have good base, better sound quality overall, are more compact, and have better noise cancelling. I wish they had been comfortable for my ears, because I loved them in every other way.
i can assure you ult wear has way way more bass than both xm4 and xm5 since i got tasted them for over hours , also their ANC is quite similar for me , but the comfort xm5 is better

How is the volume between the two? I keep hearing that the ULTs don't get as loud as the other headphones in the Sony line.

Hi!! In your personal opinion, on audio and noise cancellation performance, which one is better? Bose quiet comfort or Sony xm5?
ULT Mic sounded much better in my opinion
Nah

Thank you for another great comparison! 👍
loving the ult wear great bass when you need it and great sound
Thanks C, was waiting for this.
Listening to this on my Sony XM5. Loving it!!❤
Dope video. Question: are the ear cups the same size? I got the ult wear and want to get sweat covers but they're only for the XM5.
Thanks bro...they're different unfortunately
Thank You.
Sony Ult Wear vs XM4 which one is the best
